Gotta have a QB and a WR to have quality passing

Agree...nice not to have Travis Fulgham, Greg Ward and JJAW being the main guys.

There was a run on WRs in the draft.

We could have drafted Burks and kept pick 101.

We had to spend too much money for Brown.

Lol.

So glad we got Hurts. Brought the leadership we need and recruited the stud pass catcher he needed

Couldn’t get a FA. Weren’t going to get a stud in the draft. Hurts more than bailed us out on that one.

We either would have needed to trade up spending, draft pick wise, at least what we did onAJ or been stuck with Burks. Huge move when all other options were far from ideal.

IDK why we took Smith-wasted pick 🤣

You have to give Howie and Lurie credit there.  They wanted Brown in the draft.. didn't make the move and lost him.

They learned from that,so they traded up 2 spots to guarantee they got him.   After 2 excellent trades getting the extra 2 firsts, they had ammo to go get a vet with one of those picks.   As one of the guys they wanted, Brown was a target fo the front office.  Siri jumped on board without even hearing the sales pitch because he is perfect compliment to Smith and fit within an offense using short passes and YAC.

The work to get him on draft day was excellent.  No desire to draft a WR, they wanted the vet.... in a matter of hours got the contract done in time before they were on the clock with that 18th pick.   After 3 years Howie and Lurie got their guy.

2 years and they got both their WR targets.   A little luck with Tennessee not wanting to pay,  but also great work to get it all done.

It's great work targeting specific players and getting them.  I think the looked back at some of their recent drafts where they barely missed on targets... they decided to make the moves and be aggressive.  Very smart IMO to go for the vet WR and get that work in prior to the draft.  I think they got lucky too that WRs went early so Davis could drop some.

I thought the trade package they gave up for Davis was odd. Why all those 4ths? Instead of just the pick 101 they got from the Saints?  Or even pick 89?  Just seemed odd it was 3 additional picks to move up from 15 to 13?

But after the fact it's easy to see they had that Brown trade already done... just needed to announce it after their selection of Davis.   Probably had the trade part done prior to the draft just waiting for AJ's new contract to be set up and officially accepted.

Hurts worked with Brown over the summer-co-incidence? I'm wondering if Howie told Hurts "go work with Brown" I know they were friends, but seems odd he would just pick him to work with without knowing Tennessee was making him unhappy. perhaps Hurts found that out working out with him, replayed that to Howie. I'm sure there is SO much going on we don't know about

Yeah, see ham doesn't get that part. Once they knew Brown was ours,it was easy to move around and get the other guys we wanted. I DID have Davis or Olave as our first pick, but I knew something was up when we by passed Olave. Then the steal for Dean. If he gets back to 100% that will be a killer draft pick. Knowing also that Sean was gone and Brees was gone would indicate they weren't going to be a top performer this year and Howie knew we'd get a high pick

AJ Brown suspicious of his ‘random’ drug test this morning.

Think you have it backwards some here. Don’t think Rosie told Hurts to workout with his best friend this summer. I think Hurts had the inside track of all AJ was thinking because he’s friends with him. Hurts relayed the info to Rosie. Then perhaps Rosie instructed AJ how he could get his payday now from the Eagles since Titans were balking.

So if no WR was taken in the draft before pick 18…..do we trade for AJ still?

  • Author

Couldn’t have been more happy than when we traded for AJ. He’s impressed me in ways I underestimated of him even.

3 TDs on Go Routes in one game….was not what I was even looking for from him.

  • Author

Is the NFL gunning to take us down? Nothing random about AJ’s drug test.

Now we are about to see terrible officiating against us…just watch. I’m obsessed with the Eagles. Love some football. The league getting completely shady by deliberately and falsely taking us down….that would be the only thing to force me to give it up. I’ve clearly noticed the BS calls Tom Brady always generates from them. He’s been the most obvious example of their meddling.

Niners still feel like one our biggest obstacle right now. If only they had successfully traded Garrapolo they would be sunk. How much will them adding McCaffrey effect us? I really would have considered trading for him. We low ball offered the panthers. Still so very early in the season. But think it would have been worth extra compensation to thwart one of our biggest obstacles.

Not to be negative but we've really only faced 2 good teams - boyz and Vikings, the latter as they beat Miami, but we played them wk 2 before most teams get their acts together. Looking ahead the gnats have been very lucky in their wins, so. Tenn hasn't beaten a quality team. Keeping an eye on the 2 WR hungry teams left on our schedule - GB and dullass.

Jerry Jones going to make a big WR trade. We all know it. Some team out there will be able to fleece him on this move. Not going to be good for us this season, however. Anxious to see what he can pull off.

Jerry Jones doesn’t make little moves. It will be blockbuster. I believe, he believes, they are contenders.

They would be contenders w/ that WR. They have 7 mill cap space

Boyz only tricky games are Vikes and maybe Jags

But they really need is for us to screw up - we won't!

Yeah... I think Howie or Hurts manipulated Tennessee not to pay Brown too....lol.
