Maybe we offer him $15 mil... but his friend on another team tells his GM to offer $20?   We could be sabatoged there?

A player under rookie contract hasn’t made his money yet. So hard to turn down 80 mil or whatever. You can say the market is whatever….but that’s a gamble…and you have to wait to be a FA. Might take awhile considering they can tag you. Much easier to feel comfortable demanding 25 and not working with a GM if you know you have that much locked down already elsewhere. But have to get nasty to force a trade right away.

Schwarber HR makes it 6-0, bottom of the 5th

I just posted that FA chart as I was ticked we were inactive

OMG - another HR!

Anyway, we were inactive today and felt we really could have used another RB for this run heavy O. Maybe someone who could take over for Sanders if he leaves. A lot of FA's. We do have a few interesting players on our PS and injured. Wanted to be all in for this yr. Vikes and Bills got better.

We only offered a 3rd for McCaffrey. So seems that was our highest pick we would wiling to invest. Did get Quinn though.

That’s how I felt at the draft. Wasn’t happy about trading away our first rounder this year. Rather have traded back a bit to add picks. I actually wanted more than that. I wanted to trade future picks to get more in this draft. We did add Gardner-Johnson which is looking like a great deal. Added Quinn.

Really surprised Cowboys did nothing.

That’s the big win for me is just they didn’t get better on some steal of a trade.

Actually thought Jerry Jones was going to pull some rabbit out his a22 this year.

They may go for OBJ real late if they think they can make the post season.

You would have given up Davis with our aging linemen? You know HR is always going linemen

Think Dallas still might have Beckham as a end of season option. Which would suck.

We thought the same on ODB. No not giving up Davis. Didn’t want to trade with Saints.

Think that worked out

$$$ and cap space.   They need to save up for Dak's big cap hits and Diggs and Parsons..  not much room, it's why they has to unload guys this past offseason.

They need to get Zeke off the books.

Dullass was going after Cooks - 18 mill and picks too much.

18 mil was clearly too much. Not sure what Houston was willing to eat on that.

Dunno, it's Texas - maybe they only had 1 working phone line? There were other WR's

Other WRs... they have Lamb they need to pay soon and just paid Gallup.  What was the significant move they could make at WR?   They already invested in that position.

Don't know how Gallup is going. Was just on one of their boards and a lot of fans are po'd

Probably like some of our fans who think every player is attainable.  You can't just manufacture a player to be available.

They brag about their players and they talk their way into having to pay them record deals.  When was the last time they signed or traded for a significant player?  Cooper.  Before that it was a while.  They don't manage the cap properly,  it restricted them from making moves for a while now.

Obviously Jerry was negotiating with the Texans for him. He got all pissed and didn’t go to practice even.

You could argue they had the best team last season. Not a bad team this year either. Dak getting injured messed up their season before. I would argue that their biggest screw up was trading for Cooper. He was great…brought them wins. Made Dak look much better. But what did that cost them? Dak wouldn’t have earned nearly his salary before Cooper. But I guess they wanted proof to see how Dak would fare. But when you really think on it…if they took the blind faith and signed Dak….then traded for a big WR….would have saved them massive money.

Zeke contract really not aging well. They say he’s a leader for that team though. Which to me would be sad. Think he’s a thug. Works out hard. Blocks hard and runs hard. Probably plays hurt well. But that money couldn’t have been spent on a RB with that much wear and tear. Feels like he’s been going downhill each season since signing it.

They have managed the cap brutally for a while.  That...nobody can argue!

How was he trending prior to signing the deal?

AJ was interviewed. Said he’s Swoll Batman. Then they asked what they call Kelce. Funny how he thought about answering. Then laughed it off. Because Kelce calls himself the fat Batman. Hilarious…but great call by AJ. Kelce can call himself that. But was a total setup for AJ to call the future HOF that.
