Ok, hate to be your party pooper here with actual facts and contract details. But only 57 mil guaranteed to AJ from Rosie. Anybody here want to do that math and tell me how that is greater than the 20 mil per figure the Titans supposedly were offering?

I hate to bother you with actual facts directly from the players mouth, but try this one   https://titanswire.usatoday.com/2022/04/29/tennessee-titans-a-j-brown-wanted-out-report/

Of coarse talent level matters. I just also am evidently the only one that believes coaching also matters. I’m not seeing a version of having a better Oline coach after Stout to replace him. Just have mad respect for the guy at his profession. Sure I expect all players to develop under whomever their position coach is. Nobody does it as well as Stout. I’d even go out on the limb to say he’s the best position coach we’ve ever had. Take the same player drafted learning under Stout or the Giants Oline coach(or any other) I’ll take that player under Stout all day. This all just makes very obvious sense to me. Didn’t really think I was saying anything controversial or groundbreaking here.

what he received from Philly in his four-year, $100 million deal.                So the math is 100 mil for 4 years =25 mil per year? yes the guarantee he wanted would have been record setting,so??? You can demand anything you want, you take the best deal you can get and Howie did that. Hurts had NOTHING TO DO with this deal,NOTHING

So,I am happy they are friends. I am thrilled they worked out the summer before he was signed, but facts remain unless Hurts blackmailed AJ's agent,he had nothing to do with this deal

Dude... stop already.  You do this apples to oranges comparison all the time.    Show the Tennessee guarantee along with Eagles.   It was reported at $40.   The $20 mil was reported with incentives.

You have to look at the structure of the contract and where the market is going.

2 points, guaranteed money doesn't tell the whole story.   Are they going to cut him in the first year his money isn't guaranteed if it creates a cap hit that is higher than if they just keep him?   No, so it's irrelevant if that money is " guaranteed "  it's set up to where the player knows he will get that money.

And the point.... Brown will be considered cheap in a year or two after next batch of WR contracts.    So absolutely would be even more stupid to accept the low ball offer from Tennessee.

Thank you. Nothing better proving my theory than this article. I hadn’t even read this one before. AJ just walked away from the negotiating table. It’s like another GM had already promised him he’d get more if he made sure to force a trade. Gave him the power to give a hard ultimatum at the negotiating table with Tennessee. Pay this or no go. Was it just the market value? Or was it even easier to stand his ground firmly because he already had been offered more?

Those are the BS numbers and I hope you know better about NFL contracts by now.

Right.. it's not hard to see.  The market exploded and Tennessee didn't want to pay.   Where as Washington and SF did.

You bet,great move by Howie not going with a 1 year,but a 4 year-superbly done

Just total coincidence that he was developing chemistry with his new top target before he actually was even on the same team. There is no fire here….just smoke surrounding everything so much you can’t see.

LMFAO why keep negotiating with a team that gave you their highest offer??? Will that magically rise as the weeks go by???? Are you really serious here???? Tenn told them what their finla offer was. Why would he keep negotiating after " NO we're not doing that" Would you keep negotiating???? CLueless

Stop it.  We need OL because as you pointed out all the guys leaving.   We need OL even if you were the coach. Stop trying to say any of us said coaching doesn't matter.

You didn't read the article.   This gives us insight to your way of thinking .  Either your reading comprehension isn't there, or you just don't finish reading stuff.

57 mil guaranteed. Did we actually pay more? How much does that add up to per season? You can do some math. Is that greater than 20 mil per? Nowhere near 80 mil that was mentioned.

80 mil would be a RECORD guarantee. Howie wasn't doing that. Still regardless of this BS Hurts did NOT BRING AJ here,so bust that dream bubble. This crap all began because you said(and still do) that Hurts brought AJ to Philly. That is FALSE

Thank god Hurts bailed us out and got us a WR. Rosie had pretty much exhausted all other options and bombed. It was time to trade up in the draft as really the only thing left to do.
