Jim Schwartz says Nathan Gerry is a solid player and has helped the Eagles win a lot of games. He says that Gerry might look responsible for some bad plays he isn’t actually at fault for.

Sooooo Gerry isn’t going anywhere anytime soon as a starter

Swartz needs to get his eyes checked! Gerry sucks and does not belong in the NFL period!

Really sounding like Alshon could play this week... Would be huge I think for a Wentz to get someone back that he knows fairly well and can trust over PS guys and rookies he is stilling learning.

It sounded iffy on whether he could play. My guess is that he and Desean will be out another week. They activated the practice windows for Vinny and James, and Watkins may be back. Watkins might help as they need someone with speed to force defenses to play deeper. We have seen teams crowd us within 15 yards of the LOS the last two weeks. Though Wentz has to start taking some shots downfield regardless of who is out there. We saw it work with Fulgham. He also missed Rodgers on an easy one. So the plays are there to be made.

Lot of factors come to throwing a deep ball he can’t just chuck it up.... OL has to hold up, play call has to be made for a deep shot.... Guys have to get open.... Play worked with Fulgham but if that ball was not literally perfectly thrown it doesn’t happen.

I do want to see us take some more shots and think we will.

Good news for #FlyEaglesFly

: DeSean, Alshon will try to practice this week. Bad news: Will Parks still not ready.

Alshon has been limited last two weeks think his odds are better then not he could play...Doug not committing doesn’t mean much why commit if he plays or not why give Steelers that info if you don’t have to

Some interesting wr notes from the Inside the Bird podcast.

They really like Fulgham. They love his blocking and his aggressiveness in route running. He's a true X receiver in that he can beat press coverage and will make contested catches. He never got a chance in Green Bay and was apparently not very motivated in Detroit. Apparently getting cut twice has woken him up. If Alshon can't go, I would guess he starts this week regardless of whether or not JJAW is available.

Hightower isn't physically ready yet and wouldn't be playing if there weren't so many injuries. They need him to add muscle to reach his potential.

Ward isn't a long-term answer. He's just not quick enough to be a slot wr and not big or fast enough to be outside. He's fine for what he is, but he's a guy that will eventually be replaced.

They didn't mention Quez Watkins, but I guess he is in the same boat as Hightower. They said the team needs DJax back to give them a deep threat or teams will keep putting additional guys in the box.

They didn't mention Burnett, but I think he and Hightower both got open a number of times, but Wentz either didn't see them or was under pressure. But he can't be elevated again without being added to the roster, and I don't know if there is room for him. I think they should just put JJAW on IR, but they aren't asking me for my opinion.

Here's the injury report.

McLeod and Epps showing up is interesting. They protected Arnold and Riley on the PS, who are two safeties. Arnold is a FS and Riley is a SS. I really like Riley, and I am hoping he gets a chance, though it would mean we are pretty banged up which isn't ideal. I am not a fan of Arnold but they seem to really like him, and he and Maddox are really the only FS options on the roster behind McLeod.

If Jeffery and DJax can play Sunday, I wonder if JJAW would be a healthy scratch. They have six WRs on the roster, and I don't see a need to dress more than 5. I would think right now he's the sixth man.

A good look at Hightower's reps against the 49ers. Both he and Burnett got open for some deep balls. Wentz just has to start trusting them and hopefully the oline will start giving him some time. From the video it is also pretty clear how teams are going to be playing us until Wentz starts airing it out.

Like Fulgham,he will get better as the chemisty progresses. Like Hightower too. Ward seems solid enough to keep. IDK what to expect from Alshon. Djax either since we haven't seen squat from either for a long time.I think with Reagor we could safely only draft 1 WR next draft.Lord knows we could use additional linemen, secondary and LB's(maybe a RB) so I hope we GO THERE.In a way, I'm hoping Alshon and Djax fall flat or are "unimpressive".Not that I want to hurt the team, but I would rather see these young guns take the reins.I believe they are capable.it IS refreshing to have WR's who can actually CATCH 😘

I'd say draft a WR and, if possible, bring in a decent veteran FA just to help the young guys.

Fulgham was just a walk on at a small college never known for football.

I would love for us not to have to draft a WR love to see guys like Hightower and Watkins take the next steps along with Reagor would still have Ward

JJaw(I’m not expecting anything from him but he is on roster)Goodwin and another vet for competition to round out the roster and the PS guys Fulgham, Burnett.

My top needs in the next draft as of right now(#s not draft rounds just priority order)

1.DL- it’s the engine that makes our D go and our guys are old

2. LB- if i thought we would take a LB round 1 I might made this top priority but just unlikely but still an area that needs addressed

3rd TE- I just foresee Ertz staying we have Geodart and that’s it Rodgers isn’t some youngster either.

4th- CB/OL- these kinda odd think they could be alright or they could be a pressing need...so these two could go up or down my priority list

5th- RB- need to someone to really round out our 3 headed monster that bigger tough yardage guy likely get mid/late rounds

We have two open roster spots. We could promote DB Grayland Arnold from the PS to the roster due to injuries in the secondary and use the other spot for Watkins to give us some speed at WR. Curry and James are eligible to come off IR, so they are possibilities as well. I don't know if we need 6 DEs, but Curry is good against the run. James would be nice to get back since we are thin at corner.

Don’t we have more then Two open spot???? Thought we waived Killins as well who took his spot

Curry and James will definitely be active if they are healthy just a matter of when..

Brent Toth T took Killins spot claimed him off waivers from AZ.....

I still don’t understand the obsession with so many OL do we really need 10 OL on the 53 and how we many on PS.... Still have JP on IR who can come back in 3 weeks also have Semaulo on IR though I’m not sure what his injury is/was and when he can realistically return.

Seumalo is out for a while. They are also somewhat thin on the Oline as Lane, Herbig and Kelce are all banged up. So carrying 10 guys makes sense. They also really like Toth, from what I have been able to tell.

This is pretty big.

The Cowboys have zero depth at tackle. If he is out for the season they are in big trouble.

We have 5 G and a backup C mmmmmm not still don’t quite understand having 10 OL on roster.

That isn’t saying anything really lol.... He was placed on short term IR earliest game he can return is next week vs the Ravens... But I have not seen or heard anything on his injury other then it’s a knee injury and he will miss some time...
