I can just detach feelings and consider all possibilities. That’s what a good GM has to do. Can’t hang on to old favorites and such. Everybody is tradeable. But the thinking would be that it’s hard to win it alll with the huge QB salary. So if you really believe that….then you trade him and get another in the draft. Just one way of looking at things. There is some logic there. Especially when we see our recent history.

IDK bro you keep vascillating all over the map,it's very inconsistent. Either Hurts is your guy or he isn't,so sign him or trade him? You're not getting both, yet you put everything out there so you can say you called it. So what are you doing, signing Hurts or trading him?

Is it though? I mean sure if you overpay for a QB who's not as good as the contract he gets it is. But I mean I'm pretty sure the Bills and Chiefs would say those guys are worth it. If you get the right QB then that's huge.

Chiefs won under Mahomes rookie contract. Bills have not won it. Cincy was right there with Burrow under rookie deal.  I can see a case being made for this argument. 50 mil is a big chunk of the cap. Saw us with Wentz. Now Hurts. Seattle Wilson.

I contemplate every angle. Too much for you, I know. I just see the roster as a puzzle. I can work things big picture wise many different angles. You can’t just fall in love with guys. Gotta do what gives you the best team.

I didn’t say I’m all about doing every single thing. Just pointing out different approaches.

Just theorizing.

Hearing ODB is either Bills or Cowboys bound

Idk... I think most teams win with a QB being their highest paid player.   I don't want to avoid getting the franchise QB due to the salary.    If it's the right guy i feel you can easily build around him.

You're definitely right here.

I have a feeling the new DT's will jell a little better and it will in turn help the front 7. However, yes tackling needs to improve!

It doesn't help this week, but Davis is scheduled for return next week right?

Yes Davis should be back next week ... according to reports..   other than Ham who apparently knows he needs more time.

LMAO no you just throw out every conceivable possibility. Not the same thing. 1)Hurts is GOD, a leader, his intangibles are unsurpassed, you all are haters,he saves us every game 2) Let's trade him LMFAO. SO, I will ask you again you signing Hurts or are you trading him? If someone offered you 3 round 1 picks what would you do?

Right now... 3 #1 picks... I would trade anyone for that right now....especially of picks coming from top half of the draft.

Doubs is out, that helps us alot

I was trying to pin Ham down somewhere between the Sun and Jupiter 🤣

With Doubs out we can tee off on Arod a bit more

I mean, you absolutely need to consider the option of trading Hurts.   If the return is high, you also get to avoid paying the high salary.

But I would think this is a slim chance.  The owner loves the QB position as the face of the franchise... I would think that after the last guy failed, he would want to lock up the next franchise QB ASAP.

In reality by doing it now,  it can be done in a way that won't cost much vs the market.  Imagine if Wentz panned out,  they wrote that contract in a way where they would have restructured it last year... cap hit probably would have been around 20 mil for a few years... Howie will set it up that way for Hurts too.

Everyone talks about Brady taking less money...in reality New England kept pushing his money down the road wiry all his restructures... they took a nice dead cap hit the year he left....  but well worth it.

Says Eagles will most likely extend this guy out of all the 17 expiring contracts.  To me makes the most sense...he is the most impactful player. FB_IMG_1669528451214.jpg.d8648261f5c21f7d3bb45912d6d5f82d.jpg

Yeah he also took pay cuts when he was with the Pats,he did them plenty of favors. With the bad year they are having, wonder if he(Brady) will go another year. Missing Gronk was a big loss for him, maybe he can pry him out for one more year. If not or brady calls it quits TB will be in the QB hunt. Brady getting his WR's back slowly, see if that helps I'm happy though this is 2 games in a row I am able to watch my birds

Yeah I would like to keep him and Slay and bradberry intact for another year so we can scout draftees and FA's and trades for young guys. Kazir White seems ok,he's cheap and I would keep him around. Edwards,Epps seem to be worth keeping. IDK if Pascal is due up or not. We don't use him alot,he seems effective when we do,but maybe a 7th WR with potential would be the way to go,give him a year,or pick up another teams cuts

https://nfltraderumors.co/2023-nfl-free-agent-list/     Lots of guys will be FA if hey don't re-sign.I'm sure we can pick a few off

But Chiefs are still contenders, Bills are contenders. Going in to this year they were the 2 teams most felt were the best in the NFL. Only 1 team can win it each year so it is about being 1 of those teams who can win it.

Cincy with rookie contract advanced instead.

Not saying I believe and am sold on the idea. But have to consider there being some sense in the logic.

I can see valid points of view both ways.

How about looking at all the past SB winners... and seeing who their QBs were.  Yes there were some with QB ok rookie deal... but what is the majority?

Kraft compensated him well off the cap I believe. Heck, Brady probably could use the Jet or yacht…any of those perks also.
