So you have to make a better point to convince me all these trades are wrong.

Then the Saints gave us an unknown 2023 first and 2024 unknown second for pick 19. Seems fairly cheap for the Saints to me. All the gamble is us. We taking all the risk on unknowns. Future picks are worth less even if they were the exact same number.

We profit 2024 for giving up 2022. The 2023 isn’t guaranteed to be higher than our 2022 even. We gave pick 19. Saints make playoffs and we could be getting pick 24.

We all knew Rosie was looking to trade a pick. So he swung the best deal he could. I don’t see it as Saints just bowled us over with a deal we couldn’t refuse. They didn’t offer so much they bowled over Rosie to cancel all other plans.

We win based on Saints sucking. If it’s a top ten pick we got good value. If it becomes 19 we lost.

Just don’t see anything else making it very good for us. Just wasn’t some overwhelming offer you can’t refuse. We wanted to trade it away so bad we found our partner. That’s about the extent of it.

If you want to trade for pick 19 in 2023 with only future draft picks….what would you expect the price to be? 2024 first and 2025 second. Seems cheap to me.

In fact I wonder what pick somebody would bite on that price? Not sure the 30th pick they would

New Indiana Jones trailer just came out.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny

I’m mindful of my players wishes. But can’t cater to that. Just can’t. Job is get wins. SB where Carroll forced the throw to win comes to mind. He thought too much there. Deliberately wanted to make Wilson the hero. I believe this. Wilson was his future in Seattle. Beast Mode wins it there though. Got cute. Lost big.

How do you get wins sitting everyone?

Do we push Hurts for him to win MVP? Not what we need to do at all. Team winning comes first. I’m not playing him in a pointless week 18 game. I’m fine with limiting him as much as we can to win each week from now on. Up three scores in the fourth I yank him for sure. Don’t care about him racking up stats for that award. Just can’t think like that.

Tell Hurts you're sitting him. Let me know how that turns out

FL as far as AJ stat wise. Your fantasy team needs points in the second half. Take away coaching or QB. What’s most important is score. Team down two scores always puts up the most passing stats compared to any team up two scores. So having the lead so much has held AJ back the most. All that second quarter scoring cut into his fourth quarter stats. Right?

Hurts running takes away targets.it's not hard to understand. Every play Hurts ball hogs takes chances away from someone else. This has zero to do with W/L but there are only so many offensive snaps per game. So Hurts runs and wins, that's great, but you can't deny it takes targets away from receivers or touches from RB's

Just can’t pay much attention to any of that. Always gotta be what’s best for the team and winning.

How do you win with your top paid players riding pine???

So the NFL just announced they are going to focus on taking more data to prevent injury. Logging contact amounts to predict injury. So they can make rules to prevent more injury.

SO the Saints have no 1 pick, that's "cheap"? But trading our 1's for added draft capital is too expensive. Got it

How do you lose??? It's a EXTRA pick we would not have had. How is an extra pick a loss???

You're assuming all these trades the other teams would agree to,just because???? Takes 2 to tango bud

Last year when I suggested we tank a little for better draft picks you went ballistic, called me a hater(again), told me it was stupid to even think that way, and the players needed to play their best. But now, you are all for holding guys out(aka tanking) to save them for later when we are WINNING? I love the hypocrisy

So how much are you suggesting we should have paid to move from 15 to 13? Last year our move with the cowboys to move up two spots? Or this year 18 to 16?

I'm suggesting that each time it's different...because it's an " on the clock" trade.. at that point it becomes about trading for the specific player.   Each time is different because of the perceived value of that next group of players from both teams involved in the trade.

See the Tribusky trade... doesn't always cost that much to move up from 3 to 2.   It's the perception of the specific player(s) that were there.  How badly Chicago wanted Trib, and what SF thought of dropping one slot.

A fourth and two fifths it took for us to get up for Davis. 15 to 13. I don’t know. Seems like the price is fairly consistent across these trades.

I thought it was three 4ths?

I'm not making any point that any of these trades are wrong.... it was the value each team agreed upon.... for each on the clock trade.

You are trying to spin the Saints trade in a way it looks less dumb for them 3 Weems prior....

How about this spin... if it takes a 3rd rounder to move up 2 slots..  then look how great it was for us to move up from 19 to 18.   It was a swap of a 6th for a 7th.

Then from there the Saints got pick 16 for a 3rd, 1st, and a 2nd.

That's the easiest way to look at it since picks 18 and 19 are the closest assets in the trade.

Ok...  how can I try to explain better ... here is a hypothetical where we change the picks a little

Let's say we remain at picks 15 and 16....   but our third 1st round pick was  pick 29.      The Saints in this scenario would have pick 28 ( instead of 18)

Do the same trade...

We move up from 29 to 28... one slot, for a swap of a 6th for a 7th.

Then we trade them pick 16 for a 3rd, next year's 1st and 2024 2nd.

See how this works now...   it's the same thing.   We moved up one slot for that swap of late picks.     Then we traded them pick 16 for the 3 other picks.

You can do this exercise all day by swapping any 2 back to back draft slots... for picks 18 and 19.

So in your example...instead of trading pick 19 in 2023.... it's pick 16...and the other team would offer you a 2023 3rd, 2024 1st and 2025 2nd.

That's great value.

This last scenario .. look at it from how you are trying to spin it.   So it looks better from the Saints.

You are trying to spin...the Saints would trade a 3rd rounder to move up from 28 to 16.    Then you will say it cost them only a 2024 2nd to swap firsts from this year to next.

You would absolutely love that from a Saints perspective...using that spin.

But in either case... the easy way to see its a great trade for the Eagles... they moved up one slot as 1st part of the trade ( using late day 3 pick swap)

Then got three premium picks for pick 16.

Again.... it works the same for the Eagles regardless of where the third 1st rounder would be ( if the Saints pick was the one slot higher)

But your spin for the Saints... it looks even better moving the picks further away from pick 16...if you are trying to just say it was a 3rd rounder to move up to pick 16.

In that case...  I hope every team we try to deal with spins it like you are.

I'm going with my boy Davis

My son in law(even though my ex is my ex they love me more than her so he is still my son in law lol) got me an Eagles "Bad call refs!!!!" foam brick to throw at the TV when the ref blows a call. I think I will be wearing this out pretty fast. Reffing just gets worse every year. Luckily, I haven't hardly had to used my Eagles "BOO" pillows on my TV,but I will be using this new toy alot
