Davis practiced in Full today. Looking like a good chance he plays Sunday.

Will be short on the edge though; Quinn is out.

Quinn ....at his age we can just rest him up for playoffs regardless if he can play next week.

Even if Davis is 100% ... the smart move is to hold him out another 4 to 6 weeks.    Doesn't really matter if players are healthy at the moment... if they were hurt before they just need to sit out until playoffs.   😆

Hurts too, no need putting him at risk now. AJ/Sanders can play the first series, then they need pulled. Kelce can play until 1/2 time 🙄

Can't use the ace....need to rest it.

What a model player. He worked hard and deserves it!

Quinn hasn’t even done anything for us. No return on that investment.
Our huge high pick rook you’ll regret if he pushes things too much too soon. Be smart about it.

Just remember the story of Ziggy Ansah. The elite pass rushing stud the Lions pushed to play through his injury and it ruined his career.

Or just push the 340 6’6” rookie as hard as you can to go 11-1 because that’s most important.

Fourth round pick for Quinn was a bust

High ankle sprain is usually six week recovery. That’s what I’ve witnessed from my years watching this game. I’m not around Davis to really know much of anything of his recovery.

Maybe it was a low ankle sprain. It was never specified

I'm guessing it's at least a 4 year deal 🤣

Any rookie would love to be in Davis’ shoes, to be able to learn from some of the best defensive linemen to play the game, all four with Super Bowl rings who, when they call it a career, could make a case for enshrinement into the NFL Football Hall of Fame.

It is quite a deep pool of knowledge for Davis to tap into.

But I’m the only one that can see the value vets bring to rookies.

That would clearly change a bunch. Early rumors were all saying high ankle sprain. Our team always tries to keep things under wraps as much as possible. So I figured that’s all they were doing. But if it truely wasn’t high ankle then that changes much of my thinking and logic.

The last sentence really says it all.

The last sentence again says it all ...the narcissistic mentality,  and using the extreme spin.   " I'm the only one"   constantly.

How about just letting other people do their jobs and just be a fan.   It's not your responsibility.   A player plays when he is cleared to play.

Not everything is about that above average player Ziggy ... who was never as impactful as Lane.

There was a guy who played for this softball team in one of my leagues years ago.  They called him the pirate.  I asked them why do you guys call him that... they said because he is always talking about himself when it comes to the game, never the team..." I " this and "I that... everything about himself.    Notice similar stuff on here about someone.

Clearly the guy we should be developing out there. Harris, Tartt even that cross train with Scott all not great ideas. Young kid with tons of potential and upside. Wallace getting the nod failed miserably.

But always feels better having potential. Him growing and making mistakes I can accept.

Wallace flat out has sucked up to this point.

IDK any team that has 53 rookies every year. Could be wrong I guess. The key take away for me is the fact they are GOOD players(see the mention of SB rings? and HOF? You can bring in a crap vet and have rooks learn all the wrong things too. A GOOD player is a GOOD player and like I said there are always  vets on every team(at least 1 would be my guess). If not, that's supposedly why we have coaches. I mean not just a few coaches, the staff is quite extensive. I see no need to run out and sign a vet, unless he is a GOOD PLAYER. No team gets that right 100% of the time either. You do the best you can and hope it's better than 31 other teams

IDK, what is "clear" to me is that Howie is gun shy about taking chances on DB drafting. We took Jones that one year, that was the last semi high pick he used. If I recall Zech was a round 4,so clearly Howie shies away from them. I have no clue why but that is my observation. We were lucky that Slay came available and Bradberry and CJG. Howie is more comfortable doing deals for proven DB's over drafting any. IDK if this is good or bad, every person has their opinion about it. We even spend(cheaply) on some "shaky" choices we bring in. So IDK how this can be fixed,or if it can. Maybe he has no confidence in the staff to develop young kids. He would rather they "manage" those so called "vets" you wanted. So this is a great example of bringing in BAD vets vs GOOD vets. I wouldn't want any star DB pick I made to tutelage under Wallace. So this is just how Howie works. Maybe he needs more work on himself,or more coaches whose opinions he can rely on. Howies expertise seems to lie with linemen and he's made some rather nice picks as of late. Lets recall Dickerson was supposed to learn behind Kelce, nope he is our starting LG. I was personally ready to give up on Mailata. I'm glad they don't heed my advice. Kelce clearly loves Jurgens, so if a pro bowler says he likes him, that's good enough for me. I'm sure Jurgens understands who's shoes he has to fill, and seems fine waiting his turn. Davis was and is going to only get better and he is already GOOD now. How good will this kid be in 3 years? We have already seen the stat impact he has had even playing part time. Dean was a flat out steal if he can be anything close to what his potential was. We are excellent bringing along TE's. I wasn't too thrilled however with the 3 who were asked to pick up a little from Goedert being out. If Noone steps up I imagine we keep looking at TE's to replace them if they can't perform. Calcaterra is new,I will cut him some slack for now. The reagor pick was a big screwup but since then Howie is doing fine with WR's.(at least the last 2 years and Quez was a great pick up where we got him) So,we can't be tops in every category,so  you just have to suck it up that normally we won't have top DB's unless the planets align like they did with the 3 we got. LB is similar although Howie seems to be paying attention there at least. he does well with RB's without spending a fortune,so no issues there for me either. (sorry for rambling lol)

He drafted Maddox, I hope he returns soon from that hamstring.

Guess I should have spoken for your opinion instead? You could have piped up whenever we’ve talked about the value of having vets in the room before. FL doesn’t believe in it. Thinks rookies have nothing to gain by it.

You guys have a conversation,  does everyone need to jump in on one side or the other on every discussion?
