Oh well, whatever Butler to me is a WR.Either he can cut it there or he can't and it's a waste of resources putting him as a TE we will never use,so why waste the time and effort when we could be grooming someone we actually can use?

How do you know Butler won’t be used we love receiving TEs Butlers play style suits that a ton....Trey Burton, Jordan Reed these guys were so called TEs by name but were essentially just large slot guys.... Ertz was basically just a large slot to start his career as well.

Anyway IMO we have too many "swiss army knives" and while it's nice to have a few of those I would rather have "specialists" at positions. We move guys around more than I change underwear.OG's who can play C.LT's that are RG's WR's that are TE's(all of a sudden) and we flail away hoping someone sticks. That's not a plan for me,that's desperation

NP but why not try him at WR? It's not like we have elites right now.Give him the same chance we gave others,Fair is fair.If he fails then he does.If we had to call up Croom, obviously he isn't working out at TE either.Croom as a TE looks good IMO,so for me Butler is a WR.If he can't make them team so be it,but he's not gonna be here as a TE,since AZ needed a TE at the time, they would have kept him for that

So we label him a WR and we use him the same exact way we plan to use him at TE and there is a difference because his label is WR lmao 😂......Just because his label is TE doesn’t mean we plan to play him inline lots of different ways to move around players

I'm out.I am disgusted and sick of being .500

IDC how you label him, call him a C if you want, the fact is he practices at TE

Yup and running a route is different I slant is a slant is a slant lmao catching the ball is different come on

look at Ertz play he rarely lines up inline he essentially plays like a large slot.... Image we would want Butler to learn to do the same thing.

Essentially Butler is becoming our next large slot pass catcher would be my guess

We need Lane to play big. Marquee matchup against Watt.

Man coverage was used 34 percent of the time, on average , for NFL defenses last season

Steven Nelson rated very highly in man coverage last season. He’s the Steelers other corner. They like to play Zone mostly. But I could easily see them try to man up on us. Just not much they are worried about in the matchup of our receivers vs their corners. Going to be tough for our guys to get open and tough to block very long against their talented pass rush. They aren’t giving up any rushing yardage either. I really feel like that’s one area we have to find a **** in their armor. If we can find some hole to exploit and gash them for a few runs it will really throw them for a loop.

Defenses have to respect Carson’s legs. It’s clearly part of the gameplan. Hopefully that will help open things up downfield more.

The Eagles had some success last week running counters, so I would like to see that, with Mailata clearing out Dupree and Kelce getting to the second level. The Steelers are fast on defense but they are somewhat undersized. Hopefully Doug saw the film of Mailata throwing people around last week and had the revelation that running behind him might be a smart thing to do.

Fulghum and JJAW are plus blockers, so running out of formations when one is in the X and the other is in the slot should prove to be successful.

Yea the position he has done literally nothing at in the NFL for any team.

That may be the case but he's surely got less chance at a position he's never played? Where he is undersized?

He's not undersized for how they want to use him in their offense. He's bigger than Perkins.

Also, due to the way we run our offense, I am sure he has lined up in the X and the slot plenty of times by now. If he had shown much as a wr, I am sure the team would give him a chance there.

Sometimes the most obvious answer is the right one, he may just not be that good.

They brought him in as a TE... so they'd made that decision before seeing him.

He is 6’5 230 yea slightly undersized but depends how you use him don’t image he is going to be inline blocking

Have you seen how we use our TEs??? They are flexed out a ton why I’m not reading to much into his position it’s how we want to use him.

Trey Burton 6’2 235

Perkins 6’4 230

Bulter 6’5 230

And we can't use our WRs in a variety of ways?

Why are you stuck on a label is what concerns me if we use him the best way for his a ability.... Whether he is labeled a WR or a TE and plays the slot does it make a difference lol

Killins is back I am pleased no one picked him up. All that speed we have to find a way.

Game 5 I think we beat the Eelers today. Hargrave and Cox abuse Big Ben. I am expecting a really good performance from this young Monsterous " Still unproven"  O Line. Communication will be essential against a Top D Line.like them Burg Boys. I gotta believe our young monsters want the challenge of facing a top ranked D. We should throw a pass to Mailata 😈 hehehe lol and have him run it in for a TD hehehehehe. Some Bully Ball hehehe. 😈  My main reasoning is this is game 5, the team is awake, the rust is off, they're ready to play. Let's Goooooo. EAGLES.
