Wallace is horrible...is a legit opinion.   Which 4th string S is better?   It's a legit question when trying to compare.

Do we compare Jack Stohl to Travis Kelce?  Or to other backups or role players in the league?

Epps and CGJ we can compare to other starting S tandems.   Blankenship and Wallace should be compared to other backups...when judging the quality of the decision to have them I'm their roles.

So you agree having Wallace as our number two and in line to start at S is terrible. This after the plan was Harris starting. That we cut and remained jobless all season.  We getting somewhere. Number two and three S it seems we agree we’re terrible. So trading for CGJ was essential. So you agree with my opinion that the S room sucked. Then that moved Wallace back to third S. Still terrible. Gannon just tried to do anything but play Dime. Still had to some knowing Wallace sucks. The most utilized passing defense after the whole leagues base defense package. Passing defense important, you think?
Anyway beat this point to death. I’ve been consistent all season on my thoughts. Clearly my thoughts are well documented here.

I wouldn’t compare Stoll to Kelce. Different positions to be technical. But you could see how last year Ertz was our number two TE. Is Stoll and upgrade over Ertz? I wouldn’t compare Maddox to Ramsey either. But doesn’t mean I don’t see great value in that third corner. He’s just a backup…you know. Or is he a starting Nickle corner? Maybe potentially backing up Slay and Bradbury too? I’ve really been missing Maddox and seen his loss as a big one. If you feel different cool…not my thoughts.

Is Quez just a backup? Third WR and all. Or Is he starting 11personell WR? Also backup for Swoll Batman and Skinny Batman? That thirdWr important to you?

Not bad for a running QB….leading the league in throwing from the pocket…wait a minute…what?

Draft: Davis, Jurgens, Dean, Calscattara, Johnson….not really much impact this year. I like Davis understand how Gannon needs a Nose to make his D work. He clearly completely relies on it to stop the run. Jurgens I like. Came in as an extra lineman now to do something. Dean I like. Played a couple snaps and made a play or two in extremely limited opportunity. Calcatarra finally getting a shot. I’m critical of his mistakes so far. But have to give leeway on his expectations. He has evident tools to work as that third TE. Kind of just decent potential all around. Can run decent routes. Has decent hands. Struggling blocking but shows effort and enough ability to do the job as the more receiving TE whatever letter you put on that position. So basically he should fit as that compliment to Stoll when Goedert isn’t in. Has potential. But not starter level potential. Johnson actually might be the biggest contributor. Good depth player and a keeper. Not starter potential either. Wasn’t that familiar with him not watching him in college. Especially surprising pick after spending on Reddick then drafting Dean. But good call.

Not this year, but they will all be key players soon enough. All solid. Jurgens a starting C, Dean, a starting LB Calscattara already showing signs as a solid BU TE (Number 2 if they play 2)

So just keep drafting like this and we will be very competitive moving forward. HR won't have to make as many FA moves you dislike. Just contract details that keep this team stacked....

I actually think expanding rosters hurts teams dealing with injuries. The key becomes available talent not locked up on rosters under team control. So the better the players on the street or PS the better your option become. Expanding rosters of protected players actually limits available talent.

Can't teams protect a certain number of players on their practice squad? If three more were added, I would assume that team would be able to protect more??

Well they had a plan for him and I'm sure they will this time. And I'm sure Stoutland will be heavily involved in that prep so I think we are in good hands. But Parsons is a monster no doubt.

Maybe true, but we thought the same about Vander Esch? Despite "beating" their BU QB,nobody really affected our line that I can recall? They had/have some of the best LB's in the league, yet I can't remember anyones name being called? Maybe you can and if we can't stop ONE guy on defense,we have zero right to be in the post season anyway. We didn't just beat their offense the first time,we beat their defense too. I'm looking forward to shutting them all up bringing the best they got. No fear, ain't skeered. Let's get past DaBears, and keep everyone upright and get them ready. Big game,no doubt, always is no matter the records of either team. "We're from Philly and we fight" needs to be back on the board. Let them be overconfident,we won the SB as the "underdogs" and I like it that way. Team needs to tell Dullaz that we're ramming that star up Uranus. Wanna know who's scared? They are and it's BS when they say TY Hilton "is for the stretch run" OBJ is being considered "for the stretch run" I think it's all for US (yeah we may see them again in post season which is why we need to be extra physical) It's obvious to me who is scared of whom or these last minute WR moves would not be needed. If they knew they were weak at WR why did they wait this long??? Not buying it's for the stretch. JJ is clearly scared of being destroyed by us in his own house in front of his own fans and in front of his "million dollar babies". I want nothing more than to see that JJ frown on TV for 60 minutes in Arlington. I will take Bears first.Should not be a difficult game(but we thought that about the wuss also). Play Eagles ball,no stupid penalties and I will pull a Joe and say this is the game to run the ball,as much as possible and eat the clock because we should be able to grind and score on them. No flash needed. Nice game for Hurts to take off too(but be smart about it,that extra yard is not worth it this week). Use Goedert enough to get the rust off,let Stoll and Calc play too.

No we needed Dax Hill. His impact this year is so great I never hear his name? LOL

https://www.bengals.com/team/players-roster/dax-hill/ He will be good in time. So will the guys we drafted. Pity we don't get the first 10 picks every draft. Dax- 3 solo 2 assist,no picks IDK about PBU's. Davis more of a stud already.

You can protect players that week. So it already is kind of like more than 53. But after the game everybody on PS becomes available again.

I will be the first to admit I had my doubts. I was clearly not the only one. Ham, you have made many claims on this board that did not come to fruition, but this guy seems to be the real deal. I am glad too. It allows us to draft others next year, possibly a top 10 talent! Not sure any 12-1 team has had that luxury before.

I have zero clue how more players becomes bad for your team because there are less guys hanging out in parking lots to choose from. Makes no sense at all. Maybe we need to cut the roster down to 50, so there are more parking lot picks?  At any rate(did not look it up) I think they now work the PS like FA where we have 1 that can't be taken,1 that is "restricted" ,meaning if he gets an offer off the PS we have the option to match it first(and move them to the 53). I used to know all this, but the memory fades.

The conversation was this year. I’m not really disagreeing about the potential of these draft picks. But honestly we both are basing it on our gut feelings more than anything they’ve actually don’t though. Calcatarra is maxed out at number three here. If he can do that well we win. Really like three or four different technical TE jobs. Stoll has his own as the blocking TE. Really good not just in-line blocking…but Stoll excels on the move locking in targets to engage. Really talented at it. How many times you heard Stoll called for a penalty? Impressive with what he’s asked to do at times. Goedert is elite. If Calc can just tighten up every aspect of his game he can contribute. Being harsh on a later round pick…but he’s making tons of mistakes right now in every phase. I see the potential he has as an all around TE though.

We can’t bring in FA this offseason unless we just don’t keep much of the talent we have pending as FA. I expect our offseason to be focused in house. Pay or go…from this years squad. Top guy is obviously QB1. Time for him to get paid. 2026 and beyond cap dollars get ready.

OK, they have the Eagles pick at #5 as of now. Should the Eagles end up at that position, I wonder if HR would trade down to 9 or 10 grabbing an additional 1st and this year's second. That is allot of draft capital and hard to ignore, even if it means not grabbing a long term solution at DE..... I guess the question is who would be available at 10 should they trade back? You have to think at least 4 QB's would be taken before then. So taking possibly the 5th or 6th best player worth a swap for possibly the 1st or 2nd? I am interested to see how NO does the next two weeks....... they lose both... WOW

So basically they added 4 players to the PS and you can protect them every Tuesday(player names can vary)

Yeah I gave my opinion. Murphy(DE) will go around 4-6. Only see 2 QB's going before that.We could trade that back(if it's 5) to 9-10 and still get my other choice Bresee(DT) Only my choices,Howies may be different. IDK that I would trade back the 9-10 if it was me. Lots of good choices right there in the 8-12 spots. maybe QB 3 in between 6-9),so I am seeing 3 QB's in the top 12

I think with all the players we will have to turn loose we should get back a comp pick or 2,so that could be helpful also

Welp, Get Pick 10, pick 41 and an additional 1st in 2024..... Hard to pass up. 2024 draft would consist of 2 first round picks, 2 second round picks and 2 5th round picks along with a 3rd, 4th and 6th.....

I would entertain the possibility that both Minshew and Sanders end up in Tampa and that they also draft my boy Hooker. IDK why this is in my brain LOL. Minshew can play,Hooker can take over later. Fournette is old and they need a decent RB(and they would pay) I'm sure I will get bashed for this. Shew gets some experienced WR's already in place better than what he had when he started before and gives Hooker time to come back

Absolutely I’ve been completely wrong at times. I’ll own that. Just seems that several crucial high profile times I was right, but not just that, it was in such a minority opinion. I’ve had to hold my ground on opinions that were very much not the consensus here. Took tons of crap from all angles. But when it’s believing in our own guys we all win in the end. Main thing is Rosie recognized the call was Hurts over Wentz. He had to stand up against an unpopular decision to make the right move. So I give Rosie tons of credit with the whole Hurts situation. He’s the real hero for saving our QB situation. He had to eat humble pie on his biggest contract ever was also his biggest mistake. But he ate it to do what was best for this franchise!

Yeah, as i said I could see a trade back from 4,5,6 and there are some solid mid round 1 picks that will help right off. I would say we could use 1 more immediate starter and we need to be careful we don't trade back so far we can't get one and we could add some comp picks to this next draft. So I need to wait and see who we decide to pay for in the off season cause we can't pay them all and we have Hurts contract to work on also

FL this game against the Bears I don’t want to overlook. But ideally we just jump all over them. Get up big scoring right off the bat. Then we can, not take the foot off the gas so much, but go to those secondary and third options mostly to finish off the game. Be nice to not need to expose AJ, Smitty and Goedert to a bunch of hits in the second half. If we could utilize Pascal, Calc types to finish off Da Bears! Stomp on Chicago right off the bat enough our studs can be enjoying the worlds best pizza and steak the second half maximizing their mini vacation in the Windy City. All the elite stores in Chicago also. So great opportunity for them to personally pick up those Christmas gifts. Or at least see the Field Museum. I mean the actual museum, not that alien space ship of a stadium that landed in the old columns of what you can see used to be something normal to play football in.

https://www.nflmockdraftdatabase.com/big-boards/2023/consensus-big-board-2023?pos=ALL  They have TB taking the top RB,which makes sense, but does nothing for their QB situation. I think my way is better but I am biased LOL. If Sanders goes away,I could see Gibbs for us at pick 32,so jostle that first round 1 however you need to

Love Chicago….visiting that is! Geno’s East best pizza in the world. Those than can’t find a way to get there you can order it delivered anywhere in the country. Treat yourself to a slice of heaven…you won’t regret it. If you do make it to the original downtown(they have several branches) search the walls and you’ll find my words written there(they encourage this).  Definitely got in a Go Eagles! on the brick walls a decade ago.
