Gronk was the only patriot I liked.

I liked Edelman and Amendola. Not flashy but great clutch guys

Gronk is it because he was the full TE. Dude could block all day long! Most of the others we talk about are quasi WRs. Average blockers.

Gates and LT used to take turns blocking for each other

Tony Boselli and Lomas Brown

QB will be an argument for sure.. Brady had by far the best career... I don't put him as the guy I would want in his prime.   I'll take Montana...every quality you can say about Brady, Montana had them all....every intangible...plus he could run.    In an era where the QB wasn't protected.

Best season though for me was Marino in 84... got those monster stats and team in the SB vs very good competition in that era...a lot of the top defenses..  Brady, Manning,  Brees and Mahomes had record years but didn't face the better defenses those years.

How about "best RB tandem"? Csonka/>Kiick?

Yeah...personality I'm talking about though.  Every time Gronk would do something or say something....I would picture Belichek getting annoyed...would make me smile.

I was always convinced it was Montana. Marino I was a huge fan of and felt he changed the game forever. But it’s clearly Brady. He did it even without a Rice. How much of his success was due to cheating would be the only asterisk.

But the best OT...is toward the end of his career Jason Peters.   Lol.

I think Jason Peters has a very legit argument to be the guy

Lived with Barb Marino for 12 years lol. Still talk to her

It's amazing the perception of how many games people think Montana played with Rice...it's not that much. Rookie season Rice struggled a little... strike season.then Montana  injury.

Brady played with Moss and Gronk... really much better here at the end.

Montana prior to Rice didn't have much.. the dude who made the catch was a nice possession WR.   Different game back then when CBs could be physical off thr line and QBs got hit.

No bubble screens back then.

Marino was definitely the best pure passer ever! And nobody can remember the crappy RBs he had. And the two Marks were as average as they get…Marino made them look good.

DJax and Riley freaking Cooper are the best tandem statistically we’ve ever had.

Jets fan and friend….said the best QB of all time….he pointed out it is not Young, or Brady or Montana…it is Vinny Testaverde! I about pooped my pants when he said that. I was sure he was going to say Marino. Vinny Testaverde? WTH! That dude is in the bottom 10! My brother could not stop laughing because this guy was dead serious! He tried to sell the ONE monday night game where the Jets came back and won some game….it was awesome, but thats Testaverde’s CAREER highlight. Yikes!

I was at that Raider game. Fun game!

Quick and Cris Carter. That was a good tandem. I remember another guy that was good, Irving Fryar. Kevin Curtis was decent.

I used to joke with him about that "fake spike".(vs the Jets if I remember) That was before the Philly Special

The conversation was this year. I’m not really disagreeing about the potential of these draft picks. But honestly we both are basing it on our gut feelings more than anything they’ve actually don’t though. Calcatarra is maxed out at number three here. If he can do that well we win. Really like three or four different technical TE jobs. Stoll has his own as the blocking TE. Really good not just in-line blocking…but Stoll excels on the move locking in targets to engage. Really talented at it. How many times you heard Stoll called for a penalty? Impressive with what he’s asked to do at times. Goedert is elite. If Calc can just tighten up every aspect of his game he can contribute. Being harsh on a later round pick…but he’s making tons of mistakes right now in every phase. I see the potential he has as an all around TE though.

We can’t bring in FA this offseason unless we just don’t keep much of the talent we have pending as FA. I expect our offseason to be focused in house. Pay or go…from this years squad. Top guy is obviously QB1. Time for him to get paid. 2026 and beyond cap dollars get ready.

I DO feel Dean is ready to play now. We do not know about Jurgens because of the guy playing in front of him. So really not fair to say they could not help us now.It could be that these players could start for over half of the teams in the league. We also know, that you take the best player, even if he is not a position of need. Are you suggesting we take only the best player only in position of need? If so, I would strongly disagree with your line of thinking....

Why is no one talking about Kelce? Also, there was another TE in NE that was better than Gronk, but he was a POS. His head was all messed up.

No, the question was about the GM and the results this season. We both like these draft pick guys. None of it can be based on this years production however. So I’m not suggesting or even talking about anything you start talking here. We just were simply talking 2022 impact.
