Reality is Howie isn’t going anywhere nor is Doug not because of one bad season.... Best case might see an overall on the D side but even that seems unlikely.

Teams been riddled with injuries(yes all teams deal with injured but not like Philly has) since our SB.

Yet still we have made the playoffs each year 17 won a SB, 2018 we are what a Brooks injury and an Alshon dropped pass from an NFC championship.

2019 not saying we beat Seattle but a cheap shot to the back of Wentz head definitely altered the game.

It isn't one bad year though. Last year wasn't good. It took a late season rally due to a very favourable schedule against 4 pretty bad teams to get in to the play offs. The year before it took a Wentz injury and a team that rallied late again to get in to the play offs.

This team is going backwards, has been since winning the SB.

It’s one bad season that the way anyone will look at especially Lurie... Right wrong doesn’t matter... Team won a SB and made the playoffs every year since. Do you really think that Howie or Doug will be fired at years end???

It isn’t likely to happen is all I’m saying

I think a LB who's buried on a teams depth chart may be possible but then do we really want a player who's probably not very good? And I don't see us getting a 4th for Alshon.

I don't either. If he would have some games under him after return, maybe

Nope,it will once again be blamed on injuries.Other teams take our cast-offs and make starters out of them.Polaroid, who is out of business, still develops better than we do because we can't keep out $ players,or top picks on the field

SO, we have 3 home games in a row. This will be the first game with real fans.Maybe we can pull an upset? It will take a near perfect game by us and alot of mistakes from the Ravens to pull that off

Toohill to team no name

So if We have players succeed elsewhere that means the FO is finding talent the coaches then are not coaching them up right or putting them in the right position

I think a terrible year and yes Lurie could take major action. But a 5-11 year where they make the play offs because our division is awful? No I don't think so.

Very true but then we've been declining the last couple of years and I just fear another year that ends in the play offs will mean no major changes. Howie will stay in position and that's a massive issue.

I think major changes have to come simply for cap and age.  I wouldn't worry too much about it.    WR for sure needs change.  We need to add a RB.  Ertz wants more money ?????   So I think we move on there for sure.   Our secondary and LBs need a lot of work,  So regardless of the finish, I see major changes coming for sure.  But I consider no Alshon, DeSean, and Ertz major changes alone... but we should see half the defense change too.   I think offense comes natural next year.... and in 2 years we should see a whole defensive change.

Major changes needs to be led by firing Howie in the first instance. Until then this roster will continue to struggle.

Blessing in disguise IMO.We would have had to rebuild next year anyway. The injuries have made guys step up.We are finding out who those players are. Some may remain starters such as Mailiata,Fulgam, possibly Ward and Hightower,so in a way we are finding our future players, even though we were forced to do it.I too would like to add a RB and I wouldn't be against taking Freeman if the Gnats release him as well as pick up a nice draft pick.Don't know much about Holyfield, but if he had any impact we would have seen a few plays with him by now.Other than Sanders and Scott,I see noone else worth keeping.I still would like to see Killins worked in as a scat back and run some routes.Add a nice WR in round 2 or 4 if we chose a CB there.IDK if we would take 2 LB's,but Parsons in 1 and Surratt in 3 intrigues me.That would pretty much set us at LB for awhile(if they pan out which they both should). Doing that however takes away a secondary pick. After the season ends we will know more, ranking will change, but we need alot more pieces than we should. I'm hoping if there are no trades, that we can parlay all those late picks into earlier ones. 2-3 6's for a 4th would work, still should be a WR there so we can spend a round 2 on a corner. I can probably find us a late pick RB that would be suitable in rotation. We don;t need a stud there, but someone who's not a chump either

Nice bookend for Reagor, plays similar to Alshon-Nico Collins

How many of those Tds came because of an offensive turnover and the team being in short field position????

No different than any other year BG. Point is, we were much better at keeping the other teams out of the end zone. It is not like we played top competition the first 5 games other than Pitt.

OR we are simply giving up on them too soon. Maybe a little of both. We need to do what NE does. Search other rosters for help and work out trades. I am sure other teams have a vet or two that is the odd man out or has worn out his welcome and needs a change of scenery. Find them and bring them in.

Thus the main reason Howie will still be here next year. He is finding talent. We are just not coaching them up...

Howie wasn’t getting fired regardless not this season at least end of next year team doesn’t do anything is the best bet.

Howie needs to stay in the accounting department and leave the talent evaluations to someone who knosw talent.

That being said i'm not sure who that is in this organization

Hi ASG!  That, my friend is a very good question..... Who do we have or who can we get to handle the draft........

I posted in a different blog since  2016 the eagles have draftes 36 players. 21 are still with the team 13 are playing.

That includes Geery and JJAW who play but  haven't been making positive contributions . I didn't include Dillard because he was never gonna start last year and you can't blame him for being injured.

I'd say the talent evaluation over the last 5 years has been average. That's being charitable.

But you have players like Rowe, Jones, Agholor and Hicks that are contributing for other teams that we should take into account, no? That is not the fault of the team evaluators, but the coaches....

Yeah. There's definately something amiss here

Looking ahead to Baltimore, this is shaping up to be a really bad matchup for us. They have a completely different offense and a defense that is probably better than the Steelers.

On offense, they rely on a running game, short passes to the TE and occasional deep balls. Getting Curry and Parks back will help us if they can play. Our hope is that we can shut down the run and force Jackson to be a pocket passer. I would rather give him a little more time to throw and risk getting beat deep than pressuring him and giving up long runs. Expect a lot of misdirection, which has killed us so far. I expect this will be a day when we all regret having Nate Gerry as a starter, so basically a normal Sunday.

On defense, they blitz from a variety of ways, and rely on two good corners to take away deep shots. The one good thing about this matchup is that Fulgham and Hightower will probably be as effective as DJax and Jeffery, so getting them back isn't a huge deal. I would attack them with short passes to Ertz, Ward and Fulgham, and design plays to get the running backs open on wheel routes. I think if you can force them to defend sideline to sideline, you have a chance, but they will have to do it with short passes and not the run. We just have to be patient and take what the defense gives us. They want to blitz their linebackers, safeties and corners, and we can counter that by exploiting the zone coverage on the back end.

This is another big challenge for the oline. This team will bring pressure from everywhere, and will have linemen fake a rush and drop back into coverage. Multiple times against the Bengals Burrow was getting sacked or pressured while three linemen were standing around with no one to block. We can't let that happen this week.

Sorry for posting something political but i noticed you live in Flemington.

The post, allegedly from Flemington Mayor Betsy Driver, was shared Saturday on the Hunterdon GOP’s website.

"This is day one of the new SCOTUS terms – the religious zealots want to enact the Christian version of Sharia law,” the post reads. "If you voted for the orange monster with COVID, go f--- yourself. If you plan on voting for him again, unfriend me and go f--- yourself again.”
