Based on replays, it looked like Sweat may have suffered a whiplash type of injury with his head snapping back as he hit Prentice. The edge rusher fell face-first on the ground and remained prone as medical staff took the field to tend to him and a hush came over Lincoln Financial Field.

Medical personnel first stabilized Sweat before he was carted off very slowly to the locker room while his teammates and many of the Saints surrounded him to wish him well.

Just figured I’d post this for those that didn’t see our game to give them a feeling of just how large an effect it had on everybody.

They're calling him day to day and Robert Quinn is coming off of IR

Great that you think we should risk his career so he’s not rusty

So IF he plays this week, you predict his career will be over with one major hit? Got news for you, that goes for every player in the NFL. Next week is not guaranteed.  I know you know that. I just dont get the argument here. If the team doctor says he can play, he WILL play. Doesnt matter what you or I think.

Yes take the 1 seed.   2 games at home....and if Green Bay or any other team knocks off SF then even better.

2 home games vs 3 road games.   Not the time to let the mind wander into the abyss of stupidity.

Last I checked, the ONLY Super Bowl win was as a 1 seed. Super Bowl losses were both with a bye week….i think Eagles were 2 seed in 1980 season when they beat the hated Cowboys in the NFC championship game.

I didn’t say anything about a major hit.

Just remembering with Hurts injury the medical info saying there is a risk of permanent instability in the shoulder.

I would risk it!

Not sure your age, but a season like this is not a sure thing to happen EVER again for Hurts. I am not a Dolphins fan, but I would argue that the best pure throwing QB of all time was Dan Marino. He made the big game as a rookie and NEVER made it back. I thought he’d win at least 5 Super Bowls. Somehow that organization could not put any talent with him. Cant even remember a single RB that played with him because they all sucked! Even the two Marks he threw to had good stats BECAUSE of Marino. They may not have been starters anywhere else.

Best way, yes…not the only way, but DEFINITELY the best way to a Super Bowl is as the 1 seed.

Can’t get hurt on a bye week. ARod could break a collarbone in his first playoff game, or lose a key lineman or RB etc.  I don’t agree that anything but the 1 seed is the best opportunity for success. ALL playoff teams are going to be tough outs. I want them to come to Philly period!

You would risk it because you feel our only opportunity to beat the Giants is with Hurts?

Do you really feel we have much of a shot to win the SB if that’s the case?

With the 1 seed, yes. Without it, no.

Was a big fan of Shula and those Dolphins

The Eagles are good enough to beat anybody. That said, the loss to the Saints was bad. The loss to the skins was a fluke….3 turnovers, just wouldn’t happen again. The loss to the Cowboys..the defense screwed the pooch. I mean 3rd and 30 conversion? Seriously! And another 4 turnover performance. The saints game….no first down for the first half. Seriously? No FIRST DOWN…let alone score. Dont count the garbage one with 10 seconds left in the half. Damage was done. I get it. The game is hard sometimes. But no first downs for a whole half of football. Flat out embarrassing.

Can they clean that up and adjust with Driscoll vs Lane Johnson? Can Miles Sanders hold onto the ball? Can the CBs play SUCCESSFULLY with more aggression?

Shula’s steakhouse is one of the best. The burger there is even heavenly. Three different kinds of Prime beef in it.

Ive only been to Miami once, and it was to watch the Eagles play there last time…around Christmas. Didnt have wheels and had no idea where to go. Did some tours and loved the city….to VISIT! And the Eagles won, so that helped.

Skins wasn’t a fluke. No Dime or Nickel killing us. Wash and Dallas targeted that to convert those third downs. No fluke…the obvious hole.

Maddox going down and Ceedy Duce going down created a massive problem.

Can Hurts (if he plays) play lose without worry of injury? Can the WRs win vs man coverage? They didn’t win (one big play by Brown) vs the Saints and playoff football is always more aggressive with way fewer penalties.

Teams won’t play Man much with Hurts at QB

Haha. I do dislike Kvon Wallace. I will give him credit. He has improved….but better then **** is still not good. Haha.

Man matching up means you turn your back to the QB

I dont know. I think the skins game was a fluke. I watched the game a second time a day later and I dont see that type of game vs them happening again. It clearly did that day, but a lot of mistakes by the offense (fluke turnovers) that just wouldnt happen again.

Fair point. Another reason Hurts helps then.

Watch that game one more time and notice how they converted those third downs? I’ll save you the time…Slot passing.

3rd and 30 Slot Corner mistake. Lamb made most of his plays…guess from where he was lined up? Yep, slot.

That isn’t fluke things when it’s being deliberately targeted and happening time and time again.

But I’m the buzz kill that has complaints about a team weeks ago with 13 wins.

Teams can’t play Man as much. They need to keep a spy on Hurts. We can go empty backfield and they still need to be concerned about the run. Option plays with the QB as a legit option to gut you. Hurts can escape pressure in the pocket. He converts short yardage at a ridiculous rate. He makes quick decisions. Just a few of the reasons Hurts helps us. Plenty more.
