Looking ahead to Baltimore, this is shaping up to be a really bad matchup for us. They have a completely different offense and a defense that is probably better than the Steelers.

On offense, they rely on a running game, short passes to the TE and occasional deep balls. Getting Curry and Parks back will help us if they can play. Our hope is that we can shut down the run and force Jackson to be a pocket passer. I would rather give him a little more time to throw and risk getting beat deep than pressuring him and giving up long runs. Expect a lot of misdirection, which has killed us so far. I expect this will be a day when we all regret having Nate Gerry as a starter, so basically a normal Sunday.

On defense, they blitz from a variety of ways, and rely on two good corners to take away deep shots. The one good thing about this matchup is that Fulgham and Hightower will probably be as effective as DJax and Jeffery, so getting them back isn't a huge deal. I would attack them with short passes to Ertz, Ward and Fulgham, and design plays to get the running backs open on wheel routes. I think if you can force them to defend sideline to sideline, you have a chance, but they will have to do it with short passes and not the run. We just have to be patient and take what the defense gives us. They want to blitz their linebackers, safeties and corners, and we can counter that by exploiting the zone coverage on the back end.

This is another big challenge for the oline. This team will bring pressure from everywhere, and will have linemen fake a rush and drop back into coverage. Multiple times against the Bengals Burrow was getting sacked or pressured while three linemen were standing around with no one to block. We can't let that happen this week.

Thats all we do and have done for a few years dink and dunk. They will cover that.We won't be able to handle Jackson

Sorry for posting something political but i noticed you live in Flemington.

I'm not getting started on this

As frustrating as it is, the reality is that our oline isn't going to give Carson much time to make deep throws, and the Ravens corners are better than the Steelers.

One thing I would note is that JJAW's deep catch against the Steelers was similar to a route that Carson has thrown to Goedert a few times with pretty good success, so I wouldn't be surprised to see them try it again. I think he will get more snaps this week, as Hightower hasn't given them enough from the Z, and Fulgham can play there.

I saw that ASG and thanks for posting.  I am considering getting off FB just because of this election. There is real hate towards Trump and total dislike from the right towards Biden. There is no in between. Families and close friends are at each other's throats. For what? Two degenerate Nominees? Seriously? Then you have elected officials adding to the fire, using foul language if you vote one way or the other! Look, I am voting one way. I did my due diligence and homework and am voting for the idiot that will most likely back what I am for. Both are not people I would ever allow in my house. I am not basing my vote on how I feel about the person, but what I feel the person will do.

I encourage all of you to do the same, whether it agrees with me or not. This is a free country I believe.....

That is all I am going to say on this topic.

So if Alshon is healthy and set to play am I the only one thinking we should give him reps in the slot????

I feel like Alshon would dominate in the slot nothing against Greg Ward but he doesn’t give you a ton after the catch wise. Alshon if healthy should be able to provide little more.

Fulgham stays at his X spot the Djax Hightower route with each other likely sprinkle in Quez a bit

Some takeaways.

Pryor not practicing isn't a huge deal, but there is a thought he might get benched for Brown even if he was healthy.

I doubt Alshon and DJax play until they can practice fully. It seems like a bad idea to rush them back.

Riley isn't horrible for the first time and now he's hurt. I think this is good because it will give us a look at Singleton and Bradley.

I am really hoping Parks and Curry can play.

Edit - this seems to be good news on Parks.

You think Brown is ahead of Sua Opeta?

I think we should play all our scrubs. No need to get what few starters we have hurt 🤣

I don’t see why DJax and Jeffery can’t go. DJax was supposedly a very minor version of the injury. Jeffrey it’s sounded like was close to being able to go the last two weeks. He could help get Carson out of his funk. That would be most welcome. But I’m mostly in the trade Alshon market. So I’m looking to get him five catches for 65 yards. The trade phone rings with that output I’m thinking.

Which team is desperate for Alshon after 1/2 game showing? And what is a "good" offer for you? And why would they do it with the wealth of WR talent out there and more coming next draft? Remember we got Fulgham for ZIP lol

IDK,it's sad to me, as I look through the fantasy wires, that Fulgham is our ONLY WR worth even taking as a bench player.Noone even bothered to stash Djax 😬

Hey Ham,for many years you have preached "GET A LB!!!!" This next draft I will agree.I want one of these 2, Parsons or Surratt,I don't think we can BS here any longer

Fool proof method of seeing if you have Covid:

take a shot of whiskey, rum, or gin.

Smell it. If you can smell it drink it. If you can taste it you don't have Covid

I tested myself 9 times last night and was negative every time.

I have to test again though because today I have a headache.

To give credit to where it is due my wife saw this on the internet.

Brown practiced with the first team today, and he has NFL experience. I think he gets the start this week because Pryor has really struggled. As one analyst put it, Herbig won't move anyone in the run game, but he doesn't get beat. Pryor has been getting beat, and the Steelers DTs blew up our run game because of it.

The consensus seems to be that Peters plays at RG when he comes back. If Brown does really well, it's also possible that Peters plays LG.

Analysis of Shaun Bradley's play on the goal line. Two really nice tackles in four snaps. Showed good recognition and was where he needed to be. I think he gets more playing time this week with Riley injured.

This guy also did a good analysis of Mailata's snaps. He had four bad reps or so, but otherwise was solid against a really good dline. He did point out that on the sack he gave up, Wentz was 10 yards deep from the los, and has to step up, but he get beat on two other occasions that should have been sacks. But I think he was the best tackle on the field Sunday as Lane was struggling and the Steelers' tackles weren't great.

OMG the JP "patch kit" Pathetic. How did we let our line get this ridiculous? I don't want to hear just about injuries. You should always have a plan for injuries at every line position and have BU's READY,not play musical chairs. Unbelievable and unacceptable

Well... Howie kept extending JP and we kept having Kelce come back (no issue with that) but with no investment made in his long term replacement. And then other than that it's been a number of mid to late round picks that Stoutland has done a pretty good job with.

Some interesting receiver news from the Inside the Bird podcast.

The first was that Reagor's cast was taken off two weeks earlier than expected. He was supposed to be out until November but is eligible to come off IR as early as next week. I would guess he has a chance to be active against the Cowboys.

They said DJax is really close to returning and if he practices in full Friday he will play. Jeffery's injury is more of a mystery, but it sounds like he will be out.

The question becomes what do they do with the wr positon when Reagor comes back? They can't carry 8 guys, but everyone seems to be worth keeping. You could make an argument that JJAW should get cut, but I don't think that's realistic. Ideally they would be able to trade Jeffery before Reagor comes back, but he needs to be healthy first.

My guess is that they will cut Butler or Huntley before cutting any of the wrs.

A Good offer is a 5th round pick and getting that salary off the books

Pryor out on Sunday, which is good. It sounds like Desean might play and Jeffery won't, which is also good. I am pretty sure that Parks and Curry will play since they have two open roster spots, so that's good news as well.

Some bad news, though. Lane is out. I think it's better if he rests his ankle, plus Driscoll has been fine. The problem is that he has struggled with stunts, and that's all the Ravens do.

OL has for the most part done well and... What plan of action is there for losing basically every starter on your OL that you would want????

We lost our starting LT, backup LT, starting RG(the backup RG moved to LT got hurt) RT who is in and out with injury. Lost our starting LG.

And our OL has still been pretty good no not perfect but tell me one team that would have a good OL if they lost as many as we have

Oline, and specifically oline depth, is literally the least of this team's problems right now. I would rank it between "the cheerleaders aren't hot enough" and "I am triggered by the word Cox."

Well IMO there is no clear cut center to replace Kelce either. It's "well we'll see if anyone steps up.I want specialists at every spot, not 4 swiss army knives to choose from
