I'm happy they canceled the game. There's NO WAY that game would be played the same before Hamlin's incident. Just no way. Too many mixed emotions for the players and coaches to revisit that match-up IMO.

They still gotta do their jobs. Really just would have felt insensitive to even discuss playing the game out loud …even the next day. Think they got this one right. As soon as it happened I was thinking they better not try and play this game.

I agree with your thoughts about the Bills/ Bengals game No Mas. Well put.

Saw what an effect the Sweat injury had on everybody. Really had to be in all the players minds. Having that huge home crowd nervous added to the effect of how serious the situation was.

A fan died at the Tibetan Freedom Festival concert I was at in DC. They canceled the rest of that days shows. But continued on the next day. Feels like a bit of relevance…

What were better options ?  Push back everything because of one game?

If it was earlier in the season there would have been many more options. Bye weeks and such.

That Hurts was not a full participant at all this week is not the most comforting development. One could be concerned that the Eagles are exposing Hurts to re-injury (or worse) by putting him out there.

Five players were ruled OUT for this week’s game: Josh Sweat, Lane Johnson, Avonte Maddox, Shaun Bradley, and Janarius Robinson.

Waived Opeta…pretty weird.

Geez we better not have a hard time with the giants resting their key players.

Be demoralizing if we struggle to win even. Crushing if we lose. Actual think it just looks bad that we have to start Hurts. Is our confidence really that low?

Feels like it’s a bad message that we are showing that we must start Hurts to beat the Giants backups.

Basically pointing out how we have so many negatives to come out of this game. Very little positive. We gotta come out and romp them from the get go. Anything less will be weak.

I like how Steichen stepped up and took the blame.

I thought so too…just saw it.

So what, the Giants will still have a PO seed even if they lose?

#Eagles have waived G Sua Opeta. With as many as three spots possibly needed this weekend -- S C.J. Gardner-Johnson, DE Robert Quinn (coming off IR) and P Brett Kern (out of practice squad promotions) -- team begins clearing some space.

But how do they list it? All teams should have to play the same number of games. Do they list this as a tie????

Records and such will have an asterisk also

The day after this happened and I knew there was a high possibility of the game being canceled w/o having a determined winner…yes, I thought that a tie was the best possible likelihood.

Well I hope they come up with a plan if god forbid this happens again

What's the point of all these posts?   Too much negative energy.   Remember. ." Let's just make the playoffs " ... how do we complain this particular year.   I feel a certain group of Eagles fans just can't enjoy football.

Exactly, from the guy who swore it was impossible to lose two games after 13 wins

The point is…the state of the team. If you haven’t noticed things took a terrible turn. We were on top. But now everything got shook. Last game before the playoffs. We need a boost to go in the postseason strong. But most any way you turn the giants robbed us if anything we can use to do that.

It is negative. That I agree and admit. State of the team. At a season low.
