A good breakdown of Hightower against the Steelers.

It's nice that this guy agreed with me that the throw to the endzone was late. Not excusing Hightower for not making the catch, but it should have been made easier for him. What is nice though is that he is getting open against a top cover corner in the league. Haden is no joke. A former top 10 selection and three time pro bowler. And Hightower got open time and time again. This kid is going to be a star. You want a wr who can get separation and stretch the field? He's doing it every week. If our oline was healthy, this kid would have a ton of big plays.

I know,I had him and JJ picked for us lol. Hightower is a rook, hard to scrutinize him like a 5 year vet. He'll get better. I already have Terrance Marshall(LSU) in the PRE "way to early" mock. I liked the Fulgham pick-up,because, like JJ, he can play in or out.Our new WR's look pretty good! get Reagor back in and this is a pretty nice WR group going forward(on the cheap) so we can use the few dollars we have to enhance the lines in addition to the draft

Hightower was toasting the number 1 corner on the best defense in football. If we didn't have so many other injuries, he would be having a great season. But Carson just doesn't have the time to get him the ball. I think this kid is going to be special, and every week he has gotten better. He is going to feast on the Cowboys and Giants. Their defenses won't be able to handle our offense.

So,if we still have a meager shot at a division title and he can PLAY why trade him? Once again until he gets 2-3 games in noone will be interested.someone would have to be pretty desperate(or stupid) to buy out that contract and sacrifice a draft pick off of a 1 game return

I stated where  I figured the bar for a trade was. He doesn’t need a monster game...just good enough to show he’s healthy.

I’ve really liked him the whole time. Really was mentioning him a bunch talking about the draft. Big reason I didn’t think we needed to take WR in the first and second. He needs more development. But he is showing some good early route running signs. Kind of feel like our new WR coach deserves some credit also. Feels like an upgrade. My only knock on him is he’s so damn skinny and slight. Doesn’t look super durable. Of coarse that’s probably the situation with plenty of WR so....

Like this kid too-round 3 I would think

Yeah why I said I like the WR's going forward.Little money spent,we can bolster the lines to fix that problem with the savings at that position

And a major injury somewhere else lol.I could see the Ravens being interested if they plan a SB run.Maybe they have a lineman they would trade even

So I ran a mock(for FUN JOE) and I did a trade back in 1(assuming we draft 9th which may be a bit high but that's what the vegas odds have us at).So I gave the Fins the 9 pick, for the round 1-14 pick and picked up a round 2 pick 14.I 'll show you what I came up with in a sec

14: R1 P14 LB Micah Parsons - Penn State
41: R2 P9 DL Jaylen Twyman - Pitt
46: R2 P14 S Richard LeCounte III - Georgia
73: R3 P9 WR Elijah Moore - Ole Miss
150: R5 P9 RB Keaontay Ingram - Texas
162: R5 P21 G Sadarius Hutcherson - South Carolina
188: R6 P9 CB Roger McCreary - Auburn
216: R6 P37 OT Christian Darrisaw - Virginia Tech
220: R6 P41 CB Trey Dean III - Florida
223: R6 P44 TE Nick Eubanks - Michigan
232: R7 P9 QB Zac Thomas - Appalachian State

Nice DL add IMO

Agreed,I am scouting round 3 WR's

I like Lecounte, but IMO he may be too small. He's super quick with good ball tracking skills but not physically a "specimen".The highlight reel is misleading.Easy to snag errant passes.I would like to see more.I will keep looking lol

The Eagles suited up Sunday against the Niners with their starting LT on IR, his replacement at LT on IR, the starting left guard on IR, the starting right guard on IR, and their starting RT missing about half the snaps. I really don't know why the Eagles are so ravaged by injuries year after year (I mean, their top THREE WRs were also inactive for Sunday's game).                             Draftek notices this too lol

Pryor to reserve/covid list

Pryor to reserve/covid list

Bummer....he’s taken nothing but heat this season. I didn’t like him much at first either. But there is no denying he should have just been practicing taking over the RG spot all offseason. It went from confidence if that’s what he’s doing to...we signed legendary Peters to man that spot..: then just moved Pryor all over the place...seemed like tried to force him in every tackle spot because of it. I think it would be real easy to directly link the Peters signing with the stalled development of Pryor.

Major changes needs to be led by firing Howie in the first instance. Until then this roster will continue to struggle.

Oh my bad, you want Howie fired ... the only GM to win a SB,,, then continue to make the playoffs the next couple of years despite the injuries and the aging roster?     How about the roster naturally turnover first to the next crop of young guys and then we see what's up after that?    Like I said, first things first, the receiving corps changes big time, the lines are coming soon too... and that should allow us to go after some LBs and DBs.  The firing of the coach and the GM in a rush fashion isn't what I see a guy like Lurie doing.  I really don't think this year, if they make the playoffs or not matters.  Big thing will see how they rebound next year, how they get out of the cap situation and how the young guys step up.

Well you saw this all coming. Well no...I guess you didn’t. But I was trying to warn against all this. You kept praising the money management. Thought it was brilliant. But really it’s just saddled us the last couple seasons...including now and next year also.

But I can’t really tear anybody down this season. It’s weird messed up season they are trying to force in. Can they finish? I don’t even know that. Trying to repeat as SB champs I get. Not killing everybody...or anybody for that. But we doubled down. That was the issue. Went for some old vets in FA. Especially the problem was I was loving DJax here. Ending him off was a bunch of dumb crap. Complicated ....yes. But bringing him back as the answer was fool hearty. We needed speed badly. Yes. But reaching back to well was a low percentage gamble. Heck he missed last season and already most of this season....so even a bad gamble should start paying off now. Just weird how I was so on the ‘what are you doing’ train with shipping DJax out....but couldn’t jump back in with bringing him back wagon. Had to get young blood for that. Reagor I believe in. Really think he’ll deliver. But he’s on the sideline too. Funny how when you look towards yesterday...this league chews you up about today. Better looking towards tomorrow...and coming up short id say. Gotta move forward. Things haven’t gone in the right direction since we had the GM of the year. Seems like all that money you weren’t worried about at the time is exactly what’s biting us in a77 now! The money is crucial. Handicapping us badly right now. Youth must take over!

Hang on hang on... despite injuries and an ageing roster? Remind me, who's responsible for the roster again?

Ham, the money has nothing to do with this year.   The money will come into play next year.  This year... backups at 4 OLs spots... all 3 top WRs being out and IMO your better TE is also out.  This team is old and injured.  WE can talk about money next year, regardless, this year we need to see the young guys step up.  IMO your lack of draft effectiveness the last few years is your biggest problem.   You see their philosophy which remains consistent.   They want to build with the lines.... Barnett 14th pick.... been ok, not pick 14 level yet.   Dillard, we used 3 picks to get, nothing yet.   That's big for a team who believes in QB... LT    and RDE.    Now, hopefully we can see these young OL develop, some more of these unknown guys.   But for now, these premier picks have yet to deliver, and that's an issue.  You can mention Metcalf over JJAW too.    This is where you are at now, being able to buy one free agent or 2, isn't going to help in 2020.  It's not going to help much with the aging roster anyway.    They spent on Hargrave and Slay ...    But next year that is where the $$ is an issue, not so much now.

First step.... lets see young guys develop.  Really my big interest this year.

You really are kidding yourself. You look at this team and still don’t see how handicapped we are. You aren’t seeing the doubling down on the older players hindering us. The paying for 2017 play in 2020 cap hits is hindering us. Heck paying for two more years for yesterday. You are saying it’s just next year that’s the financial problem. You know better. We can’t...and haven’t done plenty of things because the contracts would be screwed because of next years cap problems. That’s affecting us now. This past offseason. Heck even has factors on last year.

We keep spending on Dline. You keep preaching how crucial the Dline is in Schwartz defense. Picks...cash...whatever. But then you see Big Ben get the ball out quick. See a few counters and reverses. And you see the flaws in putting all the eggs in the basket. Tomlin just laid out the playbook on how to deal with that. Brady, Brees...and a few others have perfected that. Might be time for you(and to be fair others) to rethink some things. Gotta give the DC some weapons. Schwartz has been doing this forever. Pass rush is crucial. I don’t want to sound like I disagree with that. But you are missing the symbiotic relationship along the D. If all has to come together. I’d say with minimal investment Schwartz has done very well. I think we’ve been the sixth best at giving up points while he’s been here. I’m impressed by that. Don’t think the D has been prioritized enough to command those kind of results.

They have some nice WR's. Getting to Ben isn't so easy and he's hard to bring down.I hope our secondary can cope

I thought they reported Ben release was like 2sec. It took any possibility of our DLine getting to Ben ....need at least 3.0 sec to get to him because or his exceptional quick release he ripped us to pieces and our DCoaches didn't exactly help the team . I want to se Davion Taylor against the Ravens get speed on the field. We know what Jalen Mills and the other mediocre performers have shown us in the pass get that speed on the field let the kids learn.

I’ll take my own blame in some of the logic going on here. I’ve been preaching to draft a bunch of S/ hybrid type players. Been seeing things moving towards a passing league. So S that can perform in the slot and deep is great. But really kind of seeing the LB role transforming. So going after S can really help you out. Slot, FS, SS, and other roles that the current NFL is utilizing really brings a bunch of opportunity to those types. And in short...the LB role isn’t what it used to be.  So draft some good S. Play them all along the defense. Guys get injured was always the problem. So yes..,S types couldn’t ever hold up u the fire of the LB role. But you got to attack with numbers. So you get you four or five good S....maybe an elite one or two...then yourversatile enough for today’s NFL. Combinations become endless.

I’m with you on the youth movement. Problem with Taylor is he isn’t remotely ready. Guy has barely played football. Got measurable that are incredible. Flajole preached about how coachable he is. We have a heck of a LB coach. Guys been given very...very little. So it’s probably a good match. But it’s the long game...maybe over nine seasons it’s great. But the extremely athletic kid....probably needs a lot.

The cycle... teams age... you like the 49ers and how they did everything.    That was your organization the model.   Suck for a while... clear your cap ...    I said, let;s see how they do in a 3 or 4 year span like the Eagles have done.   Almost win a SB, vs winning like we did.... and looks like they won't make the playoffs this year.   And we know.... they can;t use the injury excuse, because we couldn't.  Lynch is not a good GM because he failed to anticipate the injuries ...right... lol    But hey... all that cap space, why didn;t they buy their way out of the injury bug?

Yep... the guy who is responsible for your only SB win as a fan... that guy.

OK... again... they invested in Barnett... ok, not great, underperformed for pick 14... Dillard has been a zero... they missed Metcalf for JJAW... they invested in Slay and Hargrave, who many thought were the best available at their spots.     Again, you like the roster built differently, it's not a money issue when you pick the wrong guys.   Next year, we have a money issue.  Has not effected us anywhere near that the mistakes in selecting players and injuries.
