IDK,week 2 they should have blown us off the map. Cousins isn't the best QB around, still he has some top rate weapons. Bad coaching and play calling? A Mistake letting Diggs walk? Seems to me Thielen has become "not the player he used to be". I think they are losing/lost the trench wars(well it's over now lol). Cook not getting those gaping holes like he used to,he actually has to work now and why we need to keep our Oline top of the pile. We know Lane is good, still some issues at RG. I'm opting got find a ROT next draft and hoping we can find a top rate FA RG which won't cost us all that much. Really pleased with the left side. You know they are good when you DON'T hear their names called. So IDK what changes the Vikes made on the strong side of their line O. I can't follow every team

Traditionally we have see them take a RT draft pick and start him rookie year at RG. Get that experience next to the Pro Bowler.

IDK,For whatever reasons Howie is gun shy drafting them. Howie doesn't like to have egg on his face and why he drafts positions he is good at. Like all of us we do what we are good at and avoid things we aren't. He is human after all. Remember he took a year off th learn to be a "football guy" and not just a manager. Maybe he i still a work in progress. He is dipping his toes in the water getting Slay, White,Bradberry,CJG so he seems to be understanding the positions need more looking at. He was lucky all these players became available and he was able to land them. Now we will see if he keeps paying attention. We only have 4 high picks next draft(at those point) and it's a decent line draft and we need to get players in on both lines,so once again I suspect no DB's drafted high. I believe Howie goes more with "Intense pass rush" as it has been in the past. Makes the secondary a little less pressing if you are getting 7 sacks a game, but I believe this year he has seen with his own eyes what talent there brings to your team. So maybe he is learning more about it. meantime I would like to re-sign the guys we have. These would be a priority signings for me. The draft lines right up with the position that should be high on our board. Edge,DT,ROT,there is decent talent all through rounds 1/2. Its a fairly deep secondary class, that talent from what I see extends into earl round 4,thus a DB in round 3(basically our final pick AT THIS TIME) would be in order. That is the exact order I have in my mock as of now. You add my edge and DT picks along with Davis and you have  brick wall for 4-5 years. My ROT choice is fine in round 2 even if lane stays another year, which we DON'T know right now. I have a CB in round 3,easily could be a S there. Winning a Sb effects your off season so we'll see how far we go and whom else we can attract. Sorry for the "essay"

Is the Secondary not important to creating sacks?

Nothing to do with Gannon. I don't know of any coaches that can stop those if they are executed. Pass rush is the only way to stop those and why we need to crank up the volume there. If they are both quick AND accurate not much you can do except not allow YAC's. Brady made a career out of doinking with quick and accurate passes

Brady also made a lifestyle out of doinking beautiful famous women.

Kittle tearing it up right now too. Purdy getting too much time for reads, never really gets pressured(hat tip to their O line)

I'm hearing (I've not really watched enough) that Purdy isn't really playing too well? But that his weapons just really are that good.

Dline dominates. Oline is ok.

Brady was a great draft choice. Giants dropped Bradberry late way after the fact.

Oline has been opening holes for RBs for years...and protecting guys like Jimmy G... one guy i know we both do not have a high opinion

He isn't doing bad at all.   But yes to the weapons.   We know as Eagles fans what it's like to have the stud weapons and how much it helps.

Who played CB for the Bears teams that hold the record for sacks?

Who said I am giving Sanders alot of money? I probably feel he is worth a bit more than you do,but I'm not paying out a ridiculous amount. See what the RB market looks like after the season,or maybe we do a re-sign  before it ends. No matter, we should have enough money to get a good RG in FA if we want one. They don't break the bank. Cap limits go up every year too. I see only 2(maybe even 1) RB going in the draft in round 1. Should tell you all you need to know

We need Sanders to have a huge offseason to get where we want to go.

IDK I assume the cap will be raised by AT LEAST that amount(usually it's alot more than that) so basically you are signing Sanders with the increase alone. Could be worrisome if there was a cap freeze, but we know that's not happening and why salaries keep going up,because the NFL will never CUT the cap. Signing him for 3-4 years at 5 mil could be a bargain 2 years from now

Would be a steal for one of the top rushers this season

I like that this tradition really hasn't been the case under Stoutland.   I like guards that are guards.  I think it's been a big reason we have had success running the football...we have been more physical with true interior OL playing.

Like you though Joe I would be doing the DB's FIRST,really like to lock those guys in before worrying about RB

Now you guys value DBs?

Just want to mention that Josh Jacobs will be a FA and my guess is he would love to play on a winning squad and would jump at a few million per a year. This was "supposed" to be the year LV put it all together(fail) I doubt jacobs wants a re-run of the last few years

Brady is supposedly going to Vegas

Ham... piece of advice.   Pay attention to other people's posts. Be less about " I called it...me my mine...etc"

Nobody has ever said that we ourselves do not value DB.

The conversation is the Eagles.  Their history.

It's ironic though we have 3 pro bowlers in the secondary though right?

Right...because they didn't do what you said. They did the opposite and it cost them when only scoring 3 points in less than 5 minutes....when they ran 13 plays.

That was not conservative or any strategy to kill the clock.  That was a dumb way to play aggressive with a lead because it backfired when they couldn't score.   They played right into Jax hands.

Totally opposite of what the Eagles have been doing all year.

Exactly the strategy FL always seemingly suggests.

Because we slerp Andy Reid...we were ok with crap LB and S for Dream Team..." it was a legit thought to play with a big lead"  lol

But in a year where we probably have a top 3 or 5 secondary in the recent 4 or 5 decades of the franchise...now we complain?  Really?

Which secondary would you prefer to have over the Eagles...there are 32 teams... can you name 10 that you would prefer to have?  Can you name even 5?

Then look at those teams and see how many of those secondaries have our type of DL in front?

Really tough to complain at the roster... it's good enough to blame players and coaches if they lose at this point.

It’s proof that not valuing DBs is a mistake. What a difference getting a few quality DBs makes all around for the whole D.

Todd Bell was All Pro S. Gary Fencik the other S with five interceptions. Frazier at CB with five interceptions.
