Good fight coming up on ESPN

Game Day! Or as I call it my most favorite or least favorite day of the week.

In a football version of Groundhog Day, we face a largely healthy Super Bowl contender from the AFC as big underdogs.

Things I will be watching.

Our young receivers versus, perhaps, the best cornerback trio in the league. I would like to see more Quez Watkins and JJAW this week. JJAW has obviously been disappointing, but he made two good plays (a tough catch and a great downfield block) on eight snaps, so throw the kid a bone. Watkins has blazing speed, and if we can hold off the pass rush, this kid can hit the home run.

Our young linebackers versus their rushing attack. Singleton and Bradley are going to play, and will probably play a lot. I would not be surprised to see Taylor on the field as well. The one thing this does is give us an extremely fast group of LBs. The team wanted to add speed to both sides of the ball during the offseason, and there's no reason to keep those guys on the bench when you need their speed the most.

We played the Steelers close last week, and I think we are a little better going into this week. Brown is likely better than Pryor, and a healthy Driscoll is probably as good as a dinged up Lane. The oline has gotten better every week. Our receivers are getting better chemistry with Wentz.

Getting Curry and Parks back on defense will help. Both are good against the run, which is the Ravens' bread and butter.

Here's hoping for a good day.

Good day to really tighten up the run defense. Hasn’t been nearly as good as usual. Schwartz has always kept the run game in check. Whichever way things go....the rush defense should benefit for the long term of the season.

Pass rush needs to hold on to their lanes. Not sure we need the sacks as much as we need to keep him contained inside the pocket.

Usually for mobile QBs you utilize a LB spy. I don’t see that working out well. He’s just too fast. Feels like playing defense a man down.

5500 fans in the stands today feeling an upset.... LETS GO EAGLES!!!!!!!

great downfield block)

You talking the block he put the Cb on his ass on Sanders 74 yard run... Was great to see especially since our WRs have beeen pretty pitiful as a whole blocking

Yes I know we don’t pay WRs to block but always had a soft spot for those Hines Ward blocking guys(speaking solely his blocking ability nothing else)

Trade deadline is approaching. I’ve been leaning towards being a seller. But Rosie won’t think that way. So being aggressive to make sure we take the next step this season and make the playoffs. We are looking for a LB. FL....I mean NC can continue on his mock draft a year away. All pointless until we see what can be worked by the trade deadline. Oline is another possibility. Lane’s real situation is pretty key to how desperate we should be about it. But you can only trade for whom is available.

Think our run D will get better now with Parks and Curry Returning.... Though Ravens do a lot of moving around when running get the ball to WRs read options etc. and the Steelers killed us with jet sweeps and getting outside

I really hope Howie wishes up and sells.... This isn’t looking like a SB roster sell now get what we can and go forward with youth

Maybe he does both. But let’s face it, job security in making the playoffs. People have been thinking very harshly if Rosie’s job performance since winning the SB. But can you really fire a guy that won our first SB and then made the playoffs every year since? Really hard...even if the record hasn’t been impressive.

And we have the optimism of growth from our youth. Also hopefully some injured come back to reinforce. Doesn’t matter much how you start the season unless it sinks your playoff chances. Just matters how you finish. Could the young Oline gel and improve? I’d think of coarse. Vet WR come back and contribute? Of coarse. Young WR improve? Yes. Defense hash out some of their issues? Inevitable. A big one is Carson getting on track. I’m a fan of Wentz. He’s going through a tough slump. He’s going to shake that sooner or later. And if he could turn it all the way around? How good a team are we if Wentz is playing like one of the best QBs in the league? Not sure I’m afraid of many teams if these things come true. Really seems likely to happen also.

I hope Lurie can see through the facade of making the playoffs this season....

If it was me and Howie double downs on this roster to push for the playoffs and we make it with a losing record or 8-7-1 record he better hope we are hot and make a deep playoff push....

Because a 1 and done I’d seriously say your fired

Sure it's far away(draft) but I see scouts at games.Scouting, prepping for the draft is all year.not just at seasons end and while a mock at this point is indeed futile,it gives you some idea of what positions need to be addressed and who could possibly be there for those positions of need. It's easy to pick the #1 ranked guy at every spot and say "I want him".It's another to have to plan for 7 rounds,so although you see it as futility,I see it as practice.I am familiarizing myself with the players, not just highlight vids, but who works  on this team,so what's pointless to you is practice for me and when the time comes I will be prepared, even though only a few I choose get taken.

I think he would love any ammo to defend his guys

I don’t think he’s fired if we only win a few more games. I’m not really on the fire any coach train. I bashed a Taylor. And stated to fire him. But truth is it’s a messed up awkward season. I’m not looking for heads to roll in this most unusual season.

Wouldn’t surprise me honestly

I said fire Howie not coaches  no I don’t think it will happen either but doubling down with an old roster having a losing season just to win a terrible East with possibly a losing record just to lose in the playoffs first round.... Mmmm me I’d be more pissed on that but just me

I’m not hating on all year draft prep. But talking about positions of need is premature. Not too mention what part of thedraft we are in. What if we give up a high pick from next year to trade for a top LB before the deadline?  What if our second need we address in FA? Too many moving parts and variables. Draft prep? yes. Mock draft? Not so much. Heck just getting the overall ranking of a draft class is an always evolving process. How many people move on the board during the Combine? Get injured?

That was last season

This is the lamest of excuses to me every team is dealing with the same season. And we should be better off then most since we have had our staff in place now for 4 years going into year 5

And yes you stated Rosie being fired. But I included coaches because I was real hit with Taylor’s job performance also.

Last year I have the benefit of the doubt to tons of injuries and Wentz pulled it together and a cheap shot to the head likely cost us a playoff game. This year no excuse
