I'm going with the Colts moving to 1

Or Colts trading for Fields.  This is what Chicago needs to look at.  They are in control.  With that position they need to keep an open mind.

So then it comes down to that third QB. Colts want him at 4. Everybody knows this. New GM in Zona holds the 3 pick. How expensive can he he make it for the Colts to move up one pick?

That would be possible, but once again you have a rook QB with a trash team. As long as they keep ignoring the rest of the team, they will be the Colts

Colts go to 1 or 2. They can't wait any longer,or make the trade Joe suggested. If I'm the Colts I move up for Young,he is the passer, Stroud is a Fields clone, why would the Bears want that? They could take Young, but there again he has no team wo work with. Just setting up for more failure IMO

So should the Jags trade Lawrence? They could get alot of picks for him. Easy question

The Jags are not in position to take any player / QB in this draft.    It's not the same.

You keep skipping over this key part.  You aren't giving away Fields for nothing.  You are weighing the options of having year 3 Fields plus picks... or rookie QB plus picks.   You have the opportunity to pick your QB. You are in control of getting offers for both that pick and Fields.    You need to keep options open.

You can,but you have a QB going into year 3. He's not going to get worse,so why scrap what little you have? You could waste a 1 pick on Stroud and get a Fields clone(same program). Seems pointless to get a clone in of what you already have. I take the picks and trade out

Because you suck already.  You will probably still suck for a year or two... then you already need to pay Fields.

You don't just start over.   It's because you like one of these rookie QBs better than Fields.    That's the bar.

Why is this a hard concept.  You are absolutely correct that an option could be to keep Fields if they believe he is the best QB option they have... but also acknowledge they are the only team that has the option to pick any of them.   So it could easily be their choice to go with another QB.   Doesn't mean they feel Fields is the problem, just that their is a better option.

Really,I don;t care what the bears do LOL

The ORIGINAL point was Chicago keeps Fields AND drafts a QB. That was the INITIAL post from HAM I disagreed with

My point is unless you build the team, your QB won't matter. Anyone you get will SUCK without anything around them. Getting QB 1 in the draft just sets you back further(if you are Chicago) 2 years from then you still suck with QB you drafted in 2023 because you failed to put anyone else around them

Hurts was fortunate we put players around him,Bears need to do the same. They can trade Fields after 2023 if they want, but now you have some players for the QB whomever that is. I don't see either Young nor Stroud turning the Bears around by themselves

But the rookie QB might be who they think is better...and they will get picks for Fields.  All things to consider.

So either Stroud or Young will make the Bears winners? I don't see it. They have alot more holes than at QB

His post just said that most of the GMs have a feeling the Bears are trading Fields.    That was today's post.   Which is the discussion today.

Read the responses LOL. Nice headline to keep the writer employed

Bears and Colts both think 1 QB will make them SB winners,it's flawed by both teams

It doesn't set you back further...you are already the worst team.    And yes...2 years you probably still suck with either QB.  Would you prefer having to pay one.... or having another 2 years on the cheap...with a guy that you like better than Fields.

It's not hard to see this being at least 50% possibility.

Young is not a runner,he will die in Chicago. Stroud is a Fields clone. Wasting a 1 pick to get what you already have seems pointless

Do I not have another year to make that decision with Fields?

Great....but that was the point of the post by Ham...correct.  that the Bears could trade Fields.   Not keep him and draft a QB.

yes it morphed after I disagreed they would keep Fields and take a QB with pick 1

No... because no guarantee you will be in same position.  What if you suck and pick 8th and you don't like any of the QBs better than Fields.

Let's put it this way... you have Herbert...  Mahomes is coming out in the draft... what do you do?

You need to weigh options..is my point.

Oh well Joe,we cna both post crap from either side, what matters is what The bears want to do

No..it was the post today. Didn't morph.  Because the senior bowl was recent, which is where the idea came from.

Except you used your 1 pick on a player that can make a difference, like  top WR. he would be useful no matter the QB
