I would guess they look to trade up from 10 and down from 30.

See how it goes,I could see a trade back in both spots to get more picks. Like 10 to 12-15

Because the league knows both were in charge of their units.   Already had some reputation coming into the jobs here.   Seems like Bienemy is less intriguing... probably due to being under Andy and having Mahomes as his QB.    Is there anything else on his resume other than when Burman had the " sleeping with Bienemy" nickname when he played?

Sometimes you move sideways to get ahead later. He wasn't going anywhere in KC. I guess we will find out how good he is now

So no news on us looking at anyone

Right(lol),still if you are stuck where you are,you can't move forward. He would never threaten AR for the head coaching job in KC,this gives him a chance if he does well

For some unknown owners…. in an unknown situation….with an unknown Howell at QB. You would think this would be one of the least attractive opportunities. Getting fired by whomever comes in from new ownership would be much worse you’d think. I mean….he must really believe Howell has got ‘it!’ Weird situation with Rivera there. I don’t want anybody taking it wrong for me to think Rivera was given the job over the whole situation going down to begin with.

Wondering if we trade the 30 pick back into round 2. Saves a little(I mean if the guy we want is there)

But you lose the whole fifth year option. Moves up your big money extension by a year. Pretty strong value in the difference from last pick of the first too….first pick if the second round because of that option. A whole another year under team control. It’s actually a significant move.

Well he needs to stretch his legs and test his skills, why I said he will find out if he is any good because he will either do well or get exposed. Didn't we lose to Heinke?

I’m very curious what next year’s first round pick and this year’s third rounder gets us this year? Obviously would be looking for as high in the second as possible.

Time vs money always a balancing act. What if both 1's turn out great? you can only tag 1

Why am I making this trade?

I can understand any of that philosophy. Anywhere ….almost but Washington….this season especially. Terrible job opening. Maybe Insiders already know more about how the sake is ending up? So maybe Bienimy has talked with new ownership. Been given some reassurance he’d take over. Like Rivera is known to be on the way out. I mean without some huge understanding already…..the move is completely baffling. Like, the kind of job, QB coaches turn down the promotion.

Ideally you extend them then.

Maybe he gets more power or decision making, who knows?

We should get some comp picks in 2024 depending who we lose

Fifth year option and a tag clearly gives teams control. Come out at 22. That gets you to 28. Full team control over it. Still could even tag twice also. So team gets control over these first round guys for their careers in many ways. Many kids get drafted after 22. Everybody knows the 30 year bar is crucial for huge contract signing purposes. You let a player know you’ll tag him twice if need be…very strong incentive to sign that extension.

It’s a good draft. If we have a good team….then our first round pick next year you wouldn’t expect to be more than late first rounder.

https://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/was/2022/gamelog/  They lost alot of close games,so they weren't all that bad as you think. Also didnt have their star RB for some games

My point was if both 1's excel you can only tag 1 of them

We will lose big FA this season. So 2024 we have an extra second round pick already. But we should really load up big time with compensatory picks in 2024. So we have strong draft ammo in 2024. Feeling that late third this year isn’t probably ideal. Want to move that pick higher. Cap room for 2023 stinks. Lots of losses coming. So only real choice is load up on rookies. NFC is looking fairly open for us. Obviously a million things happen before the next season begins. But gotta feel like we can remain contender level in the NFC if we offset our massive losses. Instead of so many polished vets….have to build on a new young core. New coordinators in. So good time to change up and get them what they desire.

Just fer sheets and giggles, I am looking at Malik Cunningham as a UDFA QB pick up(Louisville) as competition for Book. IDK that Book is ready to take the #2,we'll probably have to FA one of those unless Shew wants to stay cheap. Still would be a raise for him.we got alot or most of our PS guys done, that's the easy part. I'm waiting to see moves for the "big guns"

Great problem to have. You’d have to extend one at least. That’s the best answer. Then you still have the tag. I see too many draftees that could end up getting tagged. I really am not hyper focused on a tag only being for a first rounder. The next draft could just as easily have a non first rounder that you’d like to tag. Could be a sixth rounder in 2024? Odds of draft pick success tells me this is just as likely.

Of course I would like more picks, but as you said the core is really good. Just need to nail those first 4,grab a few FA's as we should be in ok shape
