Great problem to have. You’d have to extend one at least. That’s the best answer. Then you still have the tag. I see too many draftees that could end up getting tagged. I really am not hyper focused on a tag only being for a first rounder. The next draft could just as easily have a non first rounder that you’d like to tag. Could be a sixth rounder in 2024? Odds of draft pick success tells me this is just as likely.

Just saying if at 30 there is no must have guy,but we see an early 2 we like I'm fine trading into 2. Remember there are only 31 round 1 picks this time due to the Mami forfeit, so round 2 pick 1 is actually round 1 pick 32

Just fer sheets and giggles, I am looking at Malik Cunningham as a UDFA QB pick up(Louisville) as competition for Book. IDK that Book is ready to take the #2,we'll probably have to FA one of those unless Shew wants to stay cheap. Still would be a raise for him.we got allot most of our PS guys done, that's the easy part

Should be a closer style to Hurts. The QB2 job here seems fairly well defined. We saw this last season a good example why the backup being of similar style is much more beneficial. The way things went down this season: you don’t want to change up everything for Shew. Got a top O. Just needed one win to finish the season on top. So coaches didn’t want to completely revamp everything for Shew. Unlike how when Foles came on. They knew it was changing to him to finish. So I hope they find a better fit for the role. If Hurts became injured and completely is out for very extended time….then you convert the whole O scheme. Otherwise the obvious best plan would be somebody that can operate well in Hurts O scheme. Obviously hoping the backup just needs to come in to finish off a fourth quarter of a game.

I'm really getting into this Chris Brooks RB. I think he would be perfect in the RBBC. 232 basher. He's listed as a UDFA,but keep your eye on him,he;s going to move

He needs weight and strength training. He has some tools. I would be fine grabbing him as the PS QB,moving him up the chain slowly. Hurts not going anywhere,we have developmental time if he looks like he is progressing

Not trying to hate on this draftee. But he’s looking like a project that has a top potential of PS for a year or two.

Not much to talk about really. Mailata was stashed. But he at least had the huge upside. This kid is a project. That limited. So you stash him on your PS for two or three years…to hope he can develop into some form of backup. Just not much payoff there. Long term project with third string QB ability upside.

You could be correct. Can’t really see him worth mentioning though.

Oh sure a PS guy,but we'd have a year or 3 to bring him along

Don't know until you get him here. Having the same style as hurts would accelerate his growth I would think. He's a UDFA,lose him if he cant cut it

I was making a UDFA list LOL

I like you are digging hard. But don’t see much here with this guy. Watson was light years ahead of him. But still came in looking raw.

That’s fine.

Don’t want to be overly critical of you giving deep in those types

Still a "kid" needs to weight up and get more muscular

But I’m not even going to mention a guy if I believe he needs to be developed for two years on the PS first. That’s super long shot territory. If I did look at a guy like that? It would need to be with huge upside potential at least.

I'm looking at 7's and UDFA's until we know who we re-sign in the big boy rooms. We are above average getting those guys

Davion Taylor was a reach. But a guy like him that you know is a project I can consider. Wasn’t happy how high we took him, obviously.

But if he’s a project but has a high ceiling it’s worth my time. Developing a guy for two years to become third string is practically irrelevant.

I mention them because it's a spot to fill. we have Hurts and book, thats it,so Im fine with a developmental

Not if he gets to QB#2

UDFA WR

I'm sold on Chris Brooks at RB for BYU. Sadly he is out of reach at the moment because of those mid round picks we lack

Pretty much see most all that as Day Three talent.
