Pollard would be a better investment,  he offers value in the passing game.. Sanders doesn't.

100 % I agree with all of this.   Jerry's ego makes him have to over pay.  You know he can't let Zeke go without even getting to an NFC title game.  That's admitting he overpaid him years ago with Zeke winning the battle by holding out.  Then he can't lose his hidden gem of Pollard either.

The purpose of my original post was simply being the messenger of the "rumor" mill. 

Pollard is upgrade for sure.  Sanders was not even used much in playoffs.   No way we wouldn't use Pollard more. Definitely an upgrade.  But let's hope one sucker team pays Sanders to get the better comp pick.

When you do your 5 mock drafts per day.. do you take into consideration where the picks came from?    Business is Business.  Emotional response to anything Business is a weakness.   I want the comp picks, if the rules state we should get one....doesn't matter my opinion of the rule.   The pick is only thing that matters.

Different conversation.     As an Eagles fan when our new OC gets a head coaching job in the future... I want the comp pick.    The rules state we get one...so I want it.  Change the rules AFTER we get the pick.

It's STUPID,compensatory picks should be for lost PLAYERS. You can't draft coaches in the draft. This is how wrongs continue,because noone has the balls to say it's wrong,so I will say it. I'm sure the league doesn't care what I think,but that doesn't stop me from thinking it. maybe some team will have the guts and decency to turn one down because it's WRONG

Btw... if the Eagles can pull off that hypothetical trade with Tampa... I do it in a heartbeat!  

Then I would absolutely expect a trade back up a few spots to get their specific target ...the lineman they want. 

Then followed by Ham complaining we gave away a pick THIS YEAR....etc.   

GB will be in heaven starting the 2024 mock drafts by memorial day with our dozen picks we will have lined up.  

If Howie plays this right... could set us up really well.   But gotta make good picks.  2010 we had same situation...really only had Graham to show for it.

I'm not even worried about Hurts contract.  Howie will set it up to be renegotiated or where we can get out of it after 2 years.  Just like Wentz.   Which btw if he was the franchise QB,he would have been a bargain at those #s.     

The important thing is Hurts sticks as the franchise guy... they will keep manipulating the contract just like New England did with Brady... 

Personally I'm ok with the dead cap hit in 2035... if it keeps the cap numbers down the next 12 years.

On this particular issue... I feel the Eagles are already owed something anyway.  The media brings up the QB situation.... yet conveniently skips the fact that since 1985.... Cunningham, McNabb, Pete,Vick and Hurts have started at QB for this team in almost 30 years of football.   Really only Wentz and Foles had any time in between as starters.

Yet no comp picks, in fact a few years back some idiots were trying to paint Lurie to be racist.     

How about first franchise to start 2 different black QBs in Superbowls?   First franchise to start 5 black QBs in playoff games?
