Different coaches do some different things. Gotta focus on what the new coach prioritizes and covets. All those pending FA. Draft picks. Maybe a trade. Gotta have a coach and scheme first. Much easier to find scheme fits once you actually have one.

????    You need a nose and two outside rushing LBs...  we have Davis, Reddick and Sweat.   Milton is perfect fit as the 3-4 DE type.     It anything, the players we know are coming back are good fits.   Idk why the difference in terminology matters...  you are changing coordinator and sone position coaches and getting a ton of new players.... idk that any system matters as it pertains to maintaining the one from 2022 at this point?   

I think we certainly all agree that the success of this defense was in the players, not in the scheme or system?

If we're changing to this Howie better draft 2 LB's with the first 2/3 picks and hope he find more in FA  because besides 4 starters we'd need 3-4 BU's as well. If you wan an overhaul after a SB year,this would be it. Really allows RB's to get to the 2nd level much easier

So again.. if Sweat and Reddick would be considered your OLBs.. you need 2 ILBs.... which were Edwards and White in 2022.   

I'm not sure the issue.  It seems like we have Sweat, Milton,  Davis, Reddick and Dean already in place.  If it's 4-3... then you have your front 4 with your middle LB with those 5 guys... now you find 2 more LBs.    If it's 3-4 ...then you have to find a DT and an ILB.    Still need 2 guys to make the front 7.    

Does it really matter that much at this point?   Do we think the guys are idiots that they couldn't play in either system?  Are those guys so entrenched in a Gannon type system...was the Gannon system the reason for success? 

I don't think it really matters, I think at this point those core 5 could play in either system.  In fact, other than Sweat...I think Davis, Milton, Reddick and Dean are suited better for the 3-4.  

But I think we will use a mix regardless of who we get as DC.
