Before you go too far with Hurts fumble….you gotta remember we were lined up for a sure fire Hurts sneak that Seumalo was called for a false start on.

That’s where your math of one player doesn’t add up pointing at Hurts.

Dude fumbled the ball and gave away 7 points all by himself.

But I will add..." before we punted we had 3rd and 2"

That's why for me, I'm not worried about either the punt or the fumble. Not in this particular game where KC didn't score twice...one punt and one missed FG.   Bigger issues... the coach should learn from this, one thing we can see is his improvement on game management so far, this is another good lesson.  Game feel.. your defense wasn't stopping them... a legit reason was the field conditions.  Which also factored in their inability to really stop us.   It became like a video game where each team was going to keep scoring.  You need to manage it that way.  Assuming they would drive 99 yards just as easily as 9.  Two sneaks would have been a better decision on 3rd and 2.  Might have gotten a 1st down on one play.  Certainly they weren't stopping us on 2 plays.

Through Week 9, Slay was No. 2 in the NFL to Bradberry, allowing a minuscule 37.2 passer rating, which included shutting down the NFL’s best receiver in Justin Jefferson. From that point forward he was among the league’s worst CBs while permitting a 126.1 passer rating when targeted.

Does driving 99 yards take the same time as 9?

We had a sure fire short yardage situation. Seumalo false started. Instead of first down…the penalty put pressure on. Created the situation and circumstance for the Hurts fumble. That play doesn’t exist or happen without the False Start penalty.

We had a crappy P. Everybody here acknowledged that. I only remember about half of us concerned about it. No Mas, you were clearly on the side of downplaying it’s significance. But what happened in the big game is exactly the situation you kept saying hadn’t happened yet. He shanked a shirt punt with little hang time. Got returned almost all the way. Not finding a better P screwed us! In the biggest game….biggest moment…it bit us in the a22!

Just admit you were completely wrong about not caring about the P ….and move on.

All of these are a real bargain

You stated over and over that he hadn’t screwed up yet…so it hadn’t cost us. You’re whole defense of not caring about the P was that he just had five yard shorter punts. No big screw ups. So you stated "who cares?” Then in the SB his big shank came.

If we could flip it and keep Bradberry instead of Slay.. while keeping the cap hit close... it would be worth it IMO.

Right.... I said don't make the big mistake.

He had 2 punts for 95 yards... idk how bad the " shank" was?      What if Pascal makes the tackle?  What would the result have been?

I don't think the first punt was 60 yards was it?   So that puts the " shank" at atleast 35 yards Right?

The " shank" was 38 yards.

You wanna keep a core of talent you're gonna pay

Mailata is #20 in cap hit. Please don't try to tell me he's only the 20th best LT in the NFL

A 38 yard line drive then crappy special teams tackling.

A true team effort.

Wow...I just saw the punt return again for the first time...  5 guys were right there, awful coverage and tackling.  5 guys!   Should have been tackled at the KC 40.  Just brutal.

Yeah we went "all in" so now this off season we can't keep them all. We have to pick the right ones to keep. I would actually like to keep either Suh or Joseph around as a cheap BU. I thought they did well for what we spent. One more year for both probably, they are old but reliable

ST was disappointing all year IMO

I'm hoping Dean will be 100% for camp. We really could use for him to step up. We got him late knowing we'd have to wait. So now he can show us that round 1 talent he had. That would be extremely helpful along with Davis getting more snaps in
