Where did trading away a first round pick fit in your thoughts here? Rebuild? All in?

CGJ fit for "all in " over a rookie.

A 2022 3rd, 2023 1st and 2024 2nd fit better for rebuild than just a 2022 1st.

Not complicated.  No spinning will change this obvious answer.

CGJ fit for super cheap one year rental trade price

I’m thinking how he could do it differently. Open up an extended contending window. But I could say the same to you. Instead of mock drafting. Instead of considering the draft class. Just let Rosie do his job. But to me that goes against exactly what this place is for.

Again...I'm asking the how?   We don't have cap space to spend big... we don't have old players under contract.

So your moves are limited to Slay, Lane and Quez.   You prefer to get rid of those 3?   It's ok for you to say yes and commit to the fire sale.   I'm not saying it's right or wrong...just that it's the only way to "clear cap"  because there is already limited space.  No more ways to clear more...no money to spend big.

It's just find it odd as a strategy now with only Slay, Lane and Quez, yet you could have just said get rid of those 3?

And would be great long term piece at his age.

Like a guy that you could " open up the window to contend" with.

What’s going to happen, I predict, is moving more cap money back so we can open up more current cap money to sign guys. Double whammy against the plan I’m talking about.

The fact Howie anticipates getting comp picks... that pretty much means he isn't going to spend money to replace everything we lose.  So that is out.

I would love to see Slay out of here...post June designation saves $17 mil.  Lane would be $14 mil post June.

Ok... and how do we move more money back?   It can pretty much be only Slay and Lane.  What do you predict?

It’s out because we don’t have a contending window. Don’t have the money. Have tons of starting FAs. So not an option even.

Why can't I trade a round 1 for another round 1 and more picks and another round 1 next year???? Like 10 for 19 and a round 1 next year with TB? That still leaves us 2 round 1's THIS year(19 and 30 despite you not understanding we pick at 30 lol)

There is the thought of trading Lane. I can’t see him playing more than three more seasons. Not sure he’ll be dominant that long even. His trade value is at a peak for a 33 year old player.

Think he would retire before that. He may retire this year and why we need to get a RT in here even if he plays another year

You’re missing I was talking about the first rounder we traded from 2022. So can answer again now that you hopefully  understand the question.

You would think it's obvious?  We are letting our own old guys walk...not sure how anyone could think all of a sudden we are going to spend big elsewhere???

I don't.I would try to retain CJG and Hargrave. At the worst they can play and be mentors

So why not understand we can do the same thing now or can't you understand that?

My mocks have nothing to do with Howie doing his job nor do I expect them to. I mock while you think you can outsmart Howie

We're holding his car. He doesn't know it yet

Trying to outsmart Howie again. Maybe Lurie will hire you cheaper and we can use the saved loot for a RB 😁

Think he’ll let the Kia go as he walks into the Rolls Royce dealership.

So at his age you won't try to re-sign him? You always preach veterans to teach the young guys but not now? And he can play besides that?

LMAO OH now you said you;d re-sign him but he was a cheap 1 year rental? Which is it????

Does anybody think CGJ can be retained for some cheap rate? Very good player. I expect he signs for top dollar. So is paying top market dollar great value?

The price was cheap one year rental. Look up what we paid in draft picks and salary for CGJ. Cheap!

So you'd be against trading the 10 back to 19 and maybe a 1 pick next year? That's what we did before and you hated it,but now we have the 10 which we WOULDN'T have if we did it your way

So we give him a little raise to stay???? He went to the SB. Almost hoisted a Lombardi. What would you pay him?
