Seems to me your point was more Gainwell was along for the ride. Says plenty it took him so long just to decide to get on the bus.

Deciding who to pay depends on the amount versus impact versus big team picture. Most fans would prefer a 18 mil player over a 8 mil player. Just fairly obvious. Salary cap makes that not realistically possible to always do. In fact, Rosie talked to a top FA Safety. But hit a ceiling with the amount willing to pay….so he never became an Eagles.

Yes...I believe Gainwell was along for the ride too.... yet he did better than Sanders when it mattered and was on the field for key plays while Sanders watched..  my point, you can do just as well as a team with 3 Gainwells as you can if one of them was Sanders.  The RBs in this offense are along for the ride.

You could sign three starting players for 7 mil each. Or one starter for 19. Two extra mil gets you two more starters. There is room for this logic also.

There is a difference between starter and impact player.

It's funny... you want all stars at RB...but you don't want to sign CGJ?  Doesn't make sense?

Now also remember the highest paid player being lost in FA gains you the best comp pick. Possibly end of the third round.

Bradberry

Wait, I never said I don’t want to resign CGJ. Let’s start there. I just can see fifty different ways to go about things.

Bradberry, CJG and Hargrave and Edwards….that would be a haul in comp picks.

Would anyone wager that Sanders gets another 1000 yard season?   I would say he doesn't.

IDK that I would wager on it,but I think he ends up in Tampa depending on the QB they get. I'm sure there are other destinations for teams that will pay. I always find it weird seeing Eagles in other unis lol

Sanders had zero TD's the year before this one, then suddenly "explodes" in a contract year. Sorry, but players will help other players to get the big loot and the contract year is the best time for them to do that. They will get their teammates that big money season and hope for a return down the line. People under me always performed better when there was a "contest" with things to be won. Football is no different

yeah a 3rd and 4th's. You're going to find all 4 rooks to replace this amount of talent? I mean if you got 4 round 1 picks that may be possible, but not the mid rounds unless you get lucky. I keep what I can even if it's only 1 of the above,2 if I am lucky, and doing that costs money. I'm fine with keeping 1 if that's all we can do. The SB run kind of interfered with the rebuild, but you take the shot when you have one. We did and came up 4 points short. From now on team people from both SB teams need to be AT the stadium the week before the game to make sure the field is correct. You can't just trust anyone anymore. The bad field took away our #1 advantage, the pass rush. But it's over. Still a new rule should be placed so this BS doesn't happen again. I also think if we sign someone it could affect our day 1 draft board. If CJG is signed,we could draft a S,but it's not as pressing now. if we can't sign him,try Hargrave and down the line. Think Bradberry signed because he saw we were going all in for a ring. Human nature to do that. If I can sign Hargrave and Edwards that is 2 pieces that become less pressing in the draft(I mean as far as taking a round 1. We also need to hear Lanes and Kelces retirement decisions. The sooner the better there also. Howie has an incredible amount of work to do

Cox, Graham, Sanders,Epps.. we are getting 4 comp picks however you look at it.  I'm not giving up CGJ just to move up a round.

https://www.nbcsports.com/philadelphia/eagles/2023-nfl-mock-draft-roundup-30-first-post-combine-edition-eagles  Alot I mentioned already. Personal opinion- First,IDK that Howie takes a CB first,it's never happened. Secondly,I doubt Wilson lasts until the 10 pick. Lastly,I like the kid I found( Vaughn) better than Gibbs and he can be hard very late. They are both scat backs so in a RBBC getting Gibbs seems to be a waste of a pick that high if you're going to play them in a limited role. Just how I see it. I would use the 2 pick on another position of need. DL or RT. And for Joe as I mentioned the pick of TE 2 would also suit the plan you laid out getting Mayer,so that is only an opinion call. I did mention TE 2 and 3 were all fairly close on my personal board, but we aren't privvy to the insider info

I also don't see Howie taking a RB in the 1st

Tony Pollard was tagged by Dallas.  Means their TE is probably going to hit the market.

Gibbs is a 30 pick, almost round 2 LOL. I really like this vaughn kid alot. He's very tiny and reminds me of Sproles being effective from anywhere on the field. SO many play looks you can run with a guy like that, even if some where he is just a decoy. D's would still have to figure out and plan for him and that's a good thing

I posted a link about Vaughn. I watched the whole combine and he got a rare * from me. The combine seriously helps scat backs due to the drills they have. Most of the top guys going are scat backs other than Bijan and I'm not certain he belongs where he does. but I don't get to see the pro days

He's good enough LOL . With tight loot this year I think it's better to draft 1 if you are going that direction. We had Ertz when we drafted Goedert. Keep the TE pipeline going

They had another 1 I liked some-Escobar,where did he go?

If we drafted a good TE we could open some a roster spot(maybe 2) with the guys we are waiting on that may not develop. Keep calcaterra and either stoll or jackson, but no need to keep both if you have 2 good ones

I'm not really looking to sign Schultz..I was just pointing out Dallas could lose him.

OK gotcha. The wuss could use him.

You can see 50 ways of doing things...  yet getting a 3rd, 1st and 2nd ....for a 1st wasn't one of them last year?

No but he is expensive for them... probably going to get cut if he doesn't restructure

Talk on the radio about trading Slay.

Reasons... DB coach Wilson apparently was fired by Siri.   Matt Patricia is rumored to be possibly hired as LB coach.... two things that seem to go against Slay.

Interesting times coming
