Jets are the best of those three options you could easily argue. His buddy, in Vegas bailed on him to play for his other buddy Carr….left him high and dry.

It was a trade back for a group of five S at the end of the first round. Right now we don’t look like a team heading to a SB. Last season was the season to go for it. Do we still need DBs? Yes absolutely. Still need to draft DBs.

Passing up money in year 4 ...getting tagged once..   did he really make out you think?    Because if he signed after year 3 and got paid...wouldn't he be  needing a new deal soon?   Which means he would be getting paid more sooner. 

Idk... do the math on both sides of the ledger.  I think it usually makes sense to get your big deal as soon as possible... you also get contract 3 sooner too.  Hard to make up that lost money.

But I agree...last year was the year to get CGJ...the impact player at S.   

If you are Cincy... would you make the trade if the Eagles offered pick 10 and next year's 2nd rounder for Dax Hill?

Dak is going to make $193 mil in the 6 years from 2019 to 2024.    $65 mil the next 2 years. 

You don't think he would have made more if he took a deal in 2019? 

He made $128 mil the last 4 years... if he took a 4 year $120 mil deal then... right now he would be getting paid way more than $65 mil the next 2 years.  

I think he lost money by waiting.   Yet Dallas took it on the chin with the cap hits.   

Get it done after year 3 works better for both player and team.

We may take 1. I like DJ Turner for us. I'd take him with the 62 pick,otherwise we have a choice to make,upgrade the offense and outscore everyone(like the old Colts),or spend the picks on the lines and shore up the D in the '24 draft. Howie has only taken 1 DB in 2 rounds that I am aware of(Jones because he was a value pick). A round 2 DB would be fairly odd for Howie,but I hope he does it
