Offered a third round pick

3rd round pick and the contract both those RBs demanded definitely shows a team that is more interested to invest at RB then we usually are

https://www.nbcsports.com/philadelphia/eagles/2023-nfl-draft-why-nfl-insider-thinks-eagles-wont-pick-cb  I also believe it will be an edge and I also agree with the order he has them. I believe 4 QB's go by our pick NP. If there is a QB left at 10,I think TB would sell their soul(pick 19) to get him,if they didn't get a FA QB. Since TB is basically starting over,I'm sure they would want a young QB and not another Brady re-run. I could even possibly imagine 5 Q's in the top 10

Here is a trade I would make. Of course they need to agree.(Per the trade chart). Trade with TB. Our 10(and I will toss in a 7th as incentive) for their 19, 51(round 2) and 156(round 5). It's a flat even trade without the 7th,but I will offer one to get them to bite. That gives them a shot at a decent QB at 10. It still provides us with plenty of ammo to get guys we need. TB can spend their loot on other players other than at QB. Even if we needed to move up a bit from 19 we can by offering a pick from the '24 draft(since we will have comp picks in that one. I really love this trade and hope Howie can make it happen. That would give us 19,30,51,62,94,151 and 1 7th pick

I'd prefer to get a 2024 1st rounder

Suit yourself. This speeds up the re-build(my way) Having only 1 round 1 next year isn't a disaster. We already have Hurts, the WR's and whomever we get this year

We should also have alot of comp picks next year to improve BU's. So, I would rather have the additional picks now

Whoa....this sounds like Ham.   Pick 52 speeds up the rebuild as compared to possibly getting a top 10pick in next years draft?

It's funny, you just flipped the Saints trade into more multiple picks... which is exactly what I'm suggesting again.

Lol... you are getting the fever again... the one you get every year just with tunnel vision about the current draft.  Lol.

I would rather have higher picks.   I'm not focusing my rebuild on picks that will be around 140th.    The top 10 pick has way more value and impact.

You want more picks in the moment every year after you do all the mocks and invest the time.   Trying to fill all the needs in one draft.

That's the approach the Saints took last year and why we were able to fleece them.

There is more to building a roster than the current year's draft.

Going to need high picks and future picks won’t be able to spend as heavily in FA.

For all the good Howie has done as a GM being able to consistently draft good players hasn’t been one of them and it going to be huge moving forward after we pay Hurts

With the way we are built wouldn’t shock me if we go high at a RB if we really like them. Again looking to invest a 3rd rounder plus the big contract for a RB shows that.

Still think we would rather get a DL high but if one isn’t available have to go to the next best option

Either way works for me. We have lots of picks next year, not so any this year,so yeah it speeds things up a bit and I would venture to guess we won't be getting pick 30 next time either

I'm not filling all the needs,I get one extra pick in the early rounds and a round 5 for a BU. I think 5 in the first 3 rounds rather than 4 builds the roster? Especially with the loads of players leaving THIS year?

Then Bijan is your pick at 10. he will be right there. With the run at QB should be NP getting an edge at 10. Wilson/Murphy,one of those should be there

I've been very pleased with the last 2 drafts

I'm getting you higher picks LOL Adding a 51 and a BU round 5 selection(maybe RB there????)

With the QB run pick 19 still yields a starter, adding pick 51 also yields you ANOTHER starter(in theory). So instead of 3 starters(through round 2) you'd have 4 potential starters and if you want you can use that new 5th to move up from 19 if you wanted to. So whatever, sometime we'll have to use that extra 1,so with few picks this year I would do it. Not a whole lot we should need a year from now if we draft well this time. Since we don't need a QB(thats the only reason I use 2 1's),I would be fine using it now

We talked to GIbbs at the combine,he is the #2 RB. IDK what Howie thinks

Nah,just alot of nice players in rounds 2 and 3 to be had. Deep classes at positions we need and I would like to give the new staff the most players we can get them. Not tunnel vision at all

No doubt have done better but mistakes in the draft start to hurt us more when we can’t go out and spend in FA to cover them up.

Gibbs had that game breaking speed can’t go wrong with a guy like that ran a what 4.36 I think

So in reality you traded a 7th for a 5th. Is that really impactful?    Then get pick 51.

That's nice.  For me though, to drop from 10 to 19... I want more.  That's a significant drop to where pick 51 isn't enough for me.   I want the 1st rounder next year.   That's a significant value.  Especially thinking Tampa goes rookie QB.

If we drop to 19...I liked the multiple trades where we kept moving back a couple of spots.  One move back to 19... to me it's significant drop.  Pick 51 isn't enough compensation IMO.

So let me ask you.... why is the 5th round good for a backup...but the 7th isn't?

What's the success rate of round 5 vs 7 ?    To drop from 10 to 19...that's significant.

Look at our draft history...picks in top 12 vs later round 1.   I don't like it.  For me to give up that position pick 51 isn't enough.  Rather draft the stud at 10.

Wentz, Graham, Cox, Lane and Smith.... compared to Agholor, MS2, the Fireman, Barnett, Dillard.

The first group had much more impact...even Wentz when he was here... then the 2nd group that was drafted later in round 1.

Gotta give me more than pick 51 for me to move down basically double our current position.
