Lets do a recap ok?? It's 2021. We beat up some crap teams. Hurts played "ok",nothing spectacular and it really wasn't a banner year to know what we had at QB. How does Howie do a CYA? Well you find a good trade deal and hope they suck(which NO did). Now say Hurts pulled a Wentz and really sucked this year( remember back when we we all HOPING for 10 win and 1 post season win or did we forget that????) So if Hurts was awful and we needed to get a QB,how better than to have 2 round 1 picks to work with???? If we wanted to move up from 10 for our guy,we had the 30 pick to make that move.. as I SAID(once again),I would be fine doing either. Whether you like it or not,it's still a possible scenario. Only person that needs to like it is Howie. SO let's trade Hurts,we can take any QB we want and can start over with no QB salary bothering us. I mean we can talk about any scenario there is. No matter what you or  want,it what the Eagles want. SO rolling that 1 pick over is fine,BUT the reason we did it,was in the event we needed a QB THIS YEAR

I disagree... that Saints trade was a steal... QB or not.   No shot would pick 51 be anywhere close to getting an early 1st rounder.  Not in any year ...not with Joe Montana as your QB.

TB has to pay the piper. They went for it with Brady. Was worth it for them. Now gotta straighten things out so they can start over. Really be good for them to just clear cap and suck to get good future draft picks.

Perfect time to jump on a trade with them to get them to overpay.

Daniel Jones gets 40 mil per season plus  35 mil in incentives. This contract makes things tough for us with Hurts in some ways. I just don’t see how Hurts doesn’t get the biggest pay in the league.

Oh I'm anticipating Hurts to be considered the biggest pay day... but I'm only concerned about the cap hit.   Since he has one year left on rookie deal,it enables us to use that to our advantage cap wise.  He gets paid, our cap hit remains relatively low.   If he flops,  we get out of it in 2 or 3 years...if he performs,  we restructure the deal to pay him more, but lower the cap hit.

Keep in mind with Wentz.. his cap hits were low relative to the market and he would have been restructured after 2020 if he was the future...would have lowered it more.

I seriously believe this. If Hurts signs long term for 53 mil a season. He’s getting the highest salary in the league….yet giving us a team friendly deal. Making it so we can build a team around him to contend. On the surface sound ludicrous. Like I’m not making any sense. How can you get paid the most but be a team friendly contract? I believe it. The prices are skyrocketing quick.

Makes perfect sense... the cap hit is what will be team friendly.  But he won't sacrifice $$$.   The leverage the Eagles have is he is playing for peanuts next year.  Tough to nitpick a few million if you are him.   Hard to make up the $$$ when you start that far behind.

So joe,of course you fleece them as much as you can. What I presented would be the minimum(even) trade. So we trade 10 for the TB 19,51 and that "useless 5th round 156.. Say we used that useless 156  and moved to 15 and took Mayer. According to you(and most) he is a STUD TE,yet after pick 10 all studs just vanish into thin air?. You want that 1oth because it's a better pick then say how a 5th could not possibly be better than a 7th? And BTW I'm using that 5th pick to move on the player I want plus I have another pick at 51 I didn't have before. I love how on here you post a scenario and all hell breaks loose because it'can't possibly happen that way. At any rate the only opinion that matters is Howies

He’s not being locked up. Charged with two MISDEMEANORS

You can't be jailed for misdemeanors? Are you certain??? You want this bad apple on your team out committing more misdemeanors or even worse? You really want this distraction in your room??? I don't,let someone else take the risk. He's not the only fish in the sea

I prefer rooting for a guy like Hurts. Been great! But not many elite athletes that have such strong character like him. He’s the exception for sure. Carter I’m not backing made the best decisions here. But I just don’t see why you totally condemning him for what happened. He just drive reckless with a buzz celebrating….in college. Seems like most everybody I’ve ever known been guilty of.

Oh boy,if it was just that maybe I would feel differently. 2 People LOST THEIR LIVES and he DROVE AWAY. Showed ZERO remorse-ZERO,never even apologized for being stupid. He is an entitled BRAT and the cop was a pu**y that didn't arrest him for worse because he "didn't want the publicity" That is not even CLOSE to your "college buzz" theory, not close at all. People/ teamates DIED and you just sweep that under the rug. You'd be a great politician(if you were in my district I would move)

First, how good or bad was the Jones signing by the G-Men?

Good or bad for who?

Just don’t plan on getting that high of pick again for awhile. So gotta use it elsewhere. Believe RBs are unlocked and found later all the time.

Just don’t agree with this take at all you take the blue chip player at 10 the guy that’s going to help you win the most over the next 5 years. RB can definitely do that I’d love for it to be a DE.

As for late guys getting unlocked all positions seem to have this. I mean Brock Purdy in SF, Woolen(CB) in Seattle(they have had tons of success founding DBs in the later rounds) Pittsburgh and WRs.

Now leaving before he gets nailed for the DUI and/or worse…is understandable. Not right. But very easily understandable to me. He freaked out. But also there is just simple logic and smarts in that move. Tragic situation. But I don’t see how he caused any of it. Recruiting coach screwed up. Sad. Really sad….but I just don’t see much of what Carter did to cause any of this. Just way to harsh for you to damn him so heavily.

More than leaving for a DUI. People DIED and you think thats"just the same thing". If there was nothing to run from, why did he run? Cop was a big pu**y who should be fired for not doing his job. The kid witnessed people die and left the scene and sorry but THAT is a federal offense(but he was never charged because of the pu**y cop covering his arse)

Always trade options at RB at the deadline also.

Again trade options at every position hell we landed CGJ last season cheap likely other players around the league with expiring contracts we could target as well

You’re all over the place with bringing him into it now. I don’t see what Kaep did so horrible and damning either. He actually showed very strong character. Stood up for what he believed. Did so with it costing him dearly. I understand you’ve hated Kaep and all that. But guy showed strong intestinal fortitude and character. Stood by his beliefs even if it wasn’t easy.

Of course you don't see. All he did was divide the country along racial lines and ruin sports for every fan in the nation while disrespecting my flag and anthem,no biggie. Same reason you think Carters screw up was nothing

IDK Gains emerged. Sanders was never a 3 down RB. We always use RBBC. The RB from Texas is (supposedly) on par with Barkley.I think it's DE first also, then I like Kancey, then a CB. Maybe Spears at RB in round 3. yet I can't help feeling we need to get a RT in here. We really lose it when Lane goes out and he retires every year LOL

I liked your multiple trade back scenario if you drop back to 19.   I'd rather throw in the 7th rounders and move up from 10.  If Tampa wants to move up, they can give us more.  That's pick 10.  Big jump there.  No way I do it for pick 51.  That's just me.  I wouldn't do it. I would loom for different trade or just pick at 10.

Nothing broke loose.  Just I had a different opinion.   Why can't anyone disagree or say they prefer something else.

What's your favorite flavor ice cream?  If I say I prefer another flavor is that hell breaking lose?

I've seen the Tampa trade come up on another site... we got their 2024 1st... so I like that better.  Just my opinion.  You are also entitled to yours.

People that he was close to...that's my issue.    It wasn't let me leave to avoid a DUI... it was leaving people he knew.   Do you want that in the ultimate team sport?

You don't need choir boys... but loyalty is important.

Yeah I agree. It wasn't just some drinking and speeding. Even if you don't know them you shouldn't leave

Alot of things will happen before then.Let the fun begin

Arod visited NY. I doubt he would be happy there, but whatever. Team still sucks either way

I mean... if that's the team that offers him something.  He would go in there to a team that hasn't really had a good QB since before BG was born.   I'm sure he would feel appreciated.

My point isn’t to take a RB at 10 it’s just not to pass on a RB at 10 if we view him as a blue chip guy.  I mean if we truly think Robinson can be the next Saquan when healthy then take him it’s a no brainer right? Unless there is a Jj watt or Aaron Donald DL or CB in the same sense

But again RB really is the final missing piece to our O. Sure we could upgrade WR 3 get another backup TE maybe need a RG. But RB really the only spot we need on offense in my opinion.

Well before I was born lol 😂 if we talking Namath… Chad Pennington was around when I was born underrated QB in my opinion just got stuck in a bad situation

Looking at this Eagles roster:

QB- set it’s Hurts

RB-unknown

WR set top two is Brown/Smith

TE- Geodart dude is a stud top 5 easy

OL mostly set 4/5 if Kelce returns just RG

DL- have Sweat at DE and youngster Davis/Milton at DT just the other DE spot that is really unknown would love at top 10 guy to take that spot(is there a guy available?)

LB- Rush LB Reddick is it right now. Dean is still unknown. Hopefully we can get TJ back in FA.

CB similar to DL got Slay/Maddox just need that other outside guy. Can McPherson step up

S- real up space Blankenship maybe as one do we get Epps or CGJ back as the other?
