We will be plus 10 at least...only can get 4 comp picks.  Don't have to wait at all.

After the FA rush plays out you can sign guys without it counting towards the formula. You can also bring in guys through trades. Like trading for Jalen Ramsey. Other players that are cap casualties being dropped don’t count against you on the formula. A few other ways you can acquire outside talent without it counting against you.

We paid Sermon too and never used him at all. No clue how good he is here. We ran right out and got him off the wire for no reason. Weird

The batting average on these guys they’ve wasted roster spots on that don’t play hasn’t been very good. Last year they rostered all those DBs that didn’t contribute. None panned out. Doesn’t matter too much if it’s PS. But using actual roster spots on players that never even dress on gamedays just needs to be minimalized. I was fine with the idea of rostering a bunch of young unproven DBs last year to groom and develop. But only with having success with a few. Zero worked out. Using a waiver pickup and rostering Sermon was a bad call. Extra roster spot on a RB that doesn’t suit up? C’mon…bad call. Very poor roster management on my view. Even if he was GM of the Year.

He wasn’t very good. Really question why Dean wasn’t given any opportunity. Edwards had a fantastic season. So if Gannon only saw Dean as MLB then it makes sense. But didn’t seem like that was the case. So why not get the rookie some snaps to grow and improve? The bar just wasn’t that high with White. How much worse could Dean have performed? Only logical reason to have denied Dean snaps so much is if he wasn’t absorbing the playbook well. Nothing I’ve heard or known of Dean would lead me to believe that was the case.

Rams trying to trade Stafford. Good luck with that contract.

The way I believe things went down in LA: McVay threatened retirement and walking away. He knew the future there wasn’t bright. So he laid out that they needed to completely start to rebuild. That old team had no future. Old slow without being a top team isn’t a way to go about business in the NFL. Think McVay threw his weight around to make sure it happened.

I believe the comp pick deadline is after the draft.

I mean...you play your top guys,  weren't a lot of injuries... so no need to play 75 guys.

Bears and Carolina trade...  Chicago got some value there.

https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/football/news/eagles-nakobe-dean-non-factor-as-rookie/   He was injured and why we got him so late.Maybe the injury took longer to heal? Maybe he couldn't play for awhile? Maybe there was no need to rush him because we had Edwards? He got some snaps in

I'm a huge fan of DJ Moore. No one left in Carolina now. may as well poach Donta Foreman lol. It's going to be a top rook QB throwing to nobody 🤣  0-17 Fields gets a much needed weapon

Graham re-signed on a 1 year. Sure seems like Edge will be the 10 pick. Let the newbie get their feet wet with Graham still here

Thought it might free up some cap this year. But don’t think it actually did. Rosie had him on that backloaded contract before.  But they have him at just over 8 mil cap hit this season currently.

Slay given permission to seek a trade.  He will probably be cut if he doesn't find a trade partner.

Sure hope the whole league isn’t thinking that way. Or at least they believe there is competition for his services.

So much for Patrica

That story came out of Boston. I don’t really believe that there was any truth to that story. Just Patricia trying to create some leverage through the media. Used our opening to do so. Which for his resume was a very small white lie to say LB coach.

I do wonder if Rosie had anything to do with the Patricia fabrication though. I can see an angle where it would have benefitted us to create a false riff with Slay if our plans were to move on from him. Give a fake pretext for the move. Maybe even get him to say or do something rash and harsh to give more reason to seemingly have to move him.

Didn't Carolina make a nice run at the end of the season?   Was it all DJ Moore?

We wouldn't get much anyway.  Might be ploy to get him to take less money on an extension. Otherwise a poet June cut is probably going to happen.

He was part of the trade deal with Chicago. Of course not,but he's a good WR isn't he??? Did we get to the SB just because of AJ? Pretty dumb question. Fields needs people around him and they got one for him, just like we did for Hurts. I thought it was a bad deal for Carolina. They were already at 9 They could have moved up a few spots. They sold the farm to buy a barn IMO. Is any team effort because of 1 person???

IDK that we can afford him anyway. We're letting him look. I doubt we thought we could keep him here either way. It's a nice way of telling him we can't afford him. I doubt we needed an excuse. Business. Pointless to drag him until the end knowing we can't afford him. I don't want this team to look bad,I want players who want to come here because the team does right by them

So then the 0-17 with "throwing to nobody" wasn't too intelligent of a comment either since they had a pretty nice stretch run.

Wouldn't you think they actually might be favored to win the NFC South now?

When that person is a rookie QB.. teams have shown a history of selling the farm.

It's pretty much the reason I wanted more in the hypothetical trade back from 10 to 19.   Think about it..  this Carolina trade was about the same climb up the ladder... they have QB of choice.  If Tampa ( same division) wants to move same amount up to grab that one QB that's left... don't you think the draft chart goes out the window at that point and we should get a 2024 1st rounder in that package?

Speaking of Fields...didn't Chicago do exactly that type of trade with NY to get him?  Like right after we jumped up to get Smith?

Think about it... how many teams between pick 9 and pick 1 need a QB?  Carolina had to up the offer to get all the way up to 1 if they wanted to climb all those other teams.

Good for both teams.

Who do they have? 2 RB's no QB,no WR's no TE. Don't know how much loot they have but they better spend every penny because they wiped out their draft picks. They need to hit FA hard

IDK,they could have moved up to 4 and maybe kept DJ. At least they would have had an experienced WR for the new rook. So Dj would be a comp pick for them next year,as well as Caff?. They will blow this trade if they don't take Richardson IMO. Bears weren't taking a QB at 1 anyhow. But whatever it's done,I just think they gave too much, they didnt need to go to1 3/4 would have been fine. Hope it works for them

They may slop out a game or 3. But all new staff and now mostly new players. Wiped out 2 years of draft picks for 1 QB who has to "do it all alone" I don't think this was a good strategy at all. Great for the Bears, should put them right in the mix with a decent draft

With NC doing this trade there is little reason for TB to trade with us. Top 4 QB's will be gone by 10,so TB would need a higher trade partner
