Who do they have? 2 RB's no QB,no WR's no TE. Don't know how much loot they have but they better spend every penny because they wiped out their draft picks. They need to hit FA hard

Idk who they have... but the answer is they have the team that won a bunch toward the end and played fairly well after traded CMC.

They may slop out a game or 3. But all new staff and now mostly new players. Wiped out 2 years of draft picks for 1 QB who has to "do it all alone" I don't think this was a good strategy at all. Great for the Bears, should put them right in the mix with a decent draft

They traded a 61st this year... 1st next year and 2025 2nd...  how is that completely wiping out any draft?

With NC doing this trade there is little reason for TB to trade with us. Top 4 QB's will be gone by 10,so TB would need a higher trade partner

Carolina was originally 9... how would that change our pick 10?   Still the same teams in front of us?????

The acquisition of Moore makes the Bears' offense—led by dynamic quarterback Justin Fields—suddenly dangerous. Moore joins a young wide receiving core which could make some noise in 2023. As of right now, the Bears' top four wideouts are 25-and-under, including Moore (25), Darnell Mooney (25), Chase Claypool (24) and Cole Kmet (24).

While the draft picks the Bears received in Friday's deal are impressive enough, adding Moore is a tremendous feather in the cap of general manager Ryan Poles.

For one,it rules out the Bears trading fields and taking a QB(also rules that out at 9).If TB wants a rook QB they will have to jump to 6 over LV. Pick 10(Us) doesn't get them into position. it doesn't change our pick,it changes the landscape for a TB trade partner. So now I suspect they find a FA QB to work on. They could still make the trade with us,but it won't be the get a QB,so that leverage is gone. Still time to see which FA QB's end up where

9 and 61 this year and a 1st next year. So you get a rook QB. With no high draft picks for 2 years I hope you have deep pockets in FA

https://www.espn.com/nfl/team/depth/_/name/car  No top flight WR's,Shenault is ok, Higgins had some nice stats,no TE to speak of. The rook QB has no weapons unless they go get some in FA. No top WR next draft either, they gave that away. So as far as we are concerned I would look at who Carolina cuts who we could snag as our slot guy to replace Quez(if we choose that)

Wait... so Carolina wasn't going to take a QB at 9?    And if the Bears traded Fields wouldn't they then take a QB at 1 anyway?

I'm not seeing how this changed us at pick 10?    Carolina at pick 9 was one of the teams that was thought of as taking a QB.  The idea was at pick 10,that we would be the first spot Tampa or whoever else behind Carolina could jump up to get a QB.

I don't see anything changing ... especially since the main thought was the Bears trading the pick anyway because they had Fields?

???    9 moved up to 1... they are using the pick.    The asset they gave the Bears in 2023 was pick 61.   Then 1 pick in each of the next 2 drafts... that doesn't wipe out any draft....just losing one pick???    They got extra picks trading away CMC.   It's not like they have nothing???

Carolina picks 1st and 39th this year... still has 3rd round pick and two 4ths?   That's pretty good assets compared to most teams?   Far from being wiped out?

10 was a springboard with us to get them higher(knocking out Carolina)Not hard to understand, the big lift gets them to 10,then you move to 8 or whatever. The trade basically forces TB to look for a FA QB or give up years of draft picks. Once AGAIN it doesn't change our pick,it changed how TB could get up to get a QB

I assume pick 1 will be QB??? So,you're  going to replace Caff and DJ Moore with pick 39 and a 3rd and 4ths? Not this year you aren't. BTW Donta is also a FA unless they sign him again. Now to get a QB, TB would have to move to 7. So basically Carolina threw in the towel and is starting over from scratch

Not the strategy I would have used. They must really love their #1 QB. Should be interesting to see who that is and I hope it's worth it. They aren't exactly adept at finding QB's

I mean...you play your top guys,  weren't a lot of injuries... so no need to play 75 guys.

Using those roster spots on guys that don’t contribute needs to pay some dividends. One…really two of the corners needed to show something. PS squad is different. But that was just dead weight. All those DBs brought in and run through. Hit zip. Pathetic. Got Blankenship at least this year. Scott was a bust. He was versatile and trained at Nickle and S. Terrible at both. Consistent at least. Wallace I think had every pass completed on him

Seems like they made choices all the way around on all that. How were those two the chosen cream of the crop? So many to choose from. But doesn’t seem like any of all those guys are going to much of anything. All these guys have talent and athleticism. Gotta find some things they can do. Contribute in some ways. Then that extra RB off waivers this season. What was that about? You endlessly talk about your seeming low standard at RB. Just wasn’t a need for him on the roster. Find plenty of guys to be on PS easy. If injuries ravage the RB group then you maybe do something about it. Overall the team was great this year. But a clear easy nitpick. Just hampered the team. Guess the rules of calling up PS guys enable that a bit more. Like I said a nitpick. But the DBs last year….gotta get something…one at least doing something. Sermon this year kind of baffles. Did we really need to go so far as to use a waiver move and roster spot to stash a RB for the next season?

Anyway,no matter about Carolina. Just think that puts a damper on us trading the 10-19 idea. Waiting to see who breaks free and if we make any little moves. We can afford to trade some next year picks that will be made up by comps,so we aren't totally dead in the water, just need to be smart and get back to the rebuild

Scott was a bust,or we didn't use him?

IDK???? I wasn't at practice. he was "usable" at OSU. SF got him. If he was terrible they wouldn't have bothered. We bothered to get him as well. Maybe they know something we don't? RB 3 maybe? I personally don't know. All I have to go on was him at OSU

I still like my annual sleeper RB pick Chris Brooks as a UDFA add.

https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/football/news/eagles-nakobe-dean-non-factor-as-rookie/   He was injured and why we got him so late.Maybe the injury took longer to heal? Maybe he couldn't play for awhile? Maybe there was no need to rush him because we had Edwards? He got some snaps in

He played a couple snaps on D to start the season. Then played ST I believe on pretty much every unit

I'm a huge fan of DJ Moore. No one left in Carolina now. may as well poach Donta Foreman lol. It's going to be a top rook QB throwing to nobody 🤣  0-17 Fields gets a much needed weapon

Moore is so tough to cover. So many different ways he is effective. Fast and agile. Doesn’t drop much either. He’s been killing it with the worst collection of QBs possible.

We wouldn't get much anyway.  Might be ploy to get him to take less money on an extension. Otherwise a poet June cut is probably going to happen.

We’ve been kind of talking about how he’s about the only real move to make.

He was part of the trade deal with Chicago. Of course not,but he's a good WR isn't he??? Did we get to the SB just because of AJ? Pretty dumb question. Fields needs people around him and they got one for him, just like we did for Hurts. I thought it was a bad deal for Carolina. They were already at 9 They could have moved up a few spots. They sold the farm to buy a barn IMO. Is any team effort because of 1 person???

Panthers still have a good amount of picks left. With the MCaffrey trade they easily could afford that draft ammo. I thought it was pretty cheap to get all the way to one.
