10 was a springboard with us to get them higher(knocking out Carolina)Not hard to understand, the big lift gets them to 10,then you move to 8 or whatever. The trade basically forces TB to look for a FA QB or give up years of draft picks. Once AGAIN it doesn't change our pick,it changed how TB could get up to get a QB

I thought the whole conversation was that the last good QB could be there at 10....and people were debating how many deep it actually was at QB at the top of this draft?

Btw... why can't Tampa still do the same " spring board now?   They weren't going to get the top pick anyway.  Stoll can work the same for them?

Idk...we are at 10...the same teams are picking in front of us...just changed the order.. I don't see anything changing.  The Bears trading back with a team in front of us that wanted the 1st choice of QBs was what we all thought was the probability.

Yes that was the conversation. What Changed?? Robinsons combine performance. He wasn't ranked in the top most tier. Before he would have been available at 9 for Carolina. His combine rocketed him into the upper tier,if not  the #1 QB. Carolina realized they could not stay at 9 and get a QB. When he moved,THEY moved

I assume pick 1 will be QB??? So,you're  going to replace Caff and DJ Moore with pick 39 and a 3rd and 4ths? Not this year you aren't. BTW Donta is also a FA unless they sign him again. Now to get a QB, TB would have to move to 7. So basically Carolina threw in the towel and is starting over from scratch

They were winning without CMC... in fact, that's when they started winning.  So unless it was all DJ Moore... I don't see why adding the best QB and all the other picks, plus having some cap space for moves ...why all that wouldn't improve them even more?

I like the trade for both teams.  Obviously Chicago can only improve from being the worst team, but I would bet Carolina improves too.

That’s where I believe Fields thrives. He’s exciting and can sell tickets

Isn't that every teams goal? To sell tickets? Is there any team that doesn't wan to do that??

He’s good at just ad libbing to create something. I don’t think he can run a real offense to a level you want your QB to do it. I’m not saying his teammates were stellar. But that’s how the guy plays. Just build a defense. Then let him street ball some offense.

Comical

Again...so their plan was to take a QB at 9... so in the top 9... other than the order of who picks ... and I you say the guy that was supposed to be their pick at 9 is now their pick at 1... I don't get what changed?  If you had the other 8 teams picking the same guys ....nothing should have changed. Robinson to Carolina at 9 or at 1 ... what's the difference since he and the other top 8 wouldn't be there at 10 either way?

They stink

Because they had a 1 man offense???? yes of course. Know any team that wouldn't stink with a 1 man offense?

But of course. He had no weapons at OSU???? (right lmfao),but now that he is a pro with ZERO weapons,he has no future. LMFAO,sorry I can't make that assumption

Not the strategy I would have used. They must really love their #1 QB. Should be interesting to see who that is and I hope it's worth it. They aren't exactly adept at finding QB's

Right...every year someone really loves that QB at 1.   That's why we all thought the Bears were going to make out via a trade.

Now TB can't get a QB by moving to 9/10. It's was possible before the last QB could have fallen to 10. Now that is not happening,TB has to move to 6/7 to get one. Not hard to understand. The bears are not taking a QB at 9(because there won't be any there to take)

Yep,they sure did that

Using those roster spots on guys that don’t contribute needs to pay some dividends. One…really two of the corners needed to show something. PS squad is different. But that was just dead weight. All those DBs brought in and run through. Hit zip. Pathetic. Got Blankenship at least this year. Scott was a bust. He was versatile and trained at Nickle and S. Terrible at both. Consistent at least. Wallace I think had every pass completed on him

And had zero effect because we got top seed and had ....6 pretty good DBs for playoffs.   Again,  you can't play everyone if the top guts are healthy.  Minimum contracts are the least expensive option to fill a roster.

Yep...as expected.  Obviously if Fields was ever discussed in trades, he wouldn't have gotten the same value. They explored the options and took the best trade.  Made no sense not to trade... one way or the other.

And BTW Joe,I have no clue if the order of players taken changed with this trade. I assume there will be more trades coming in.

yeah carolina had to move when Richardson shot into the top QB's

Seems like they made choices all the way around on all that. How were those two the chosen cream of the crop? So many to choose from. But doesn’t seem like any of all those guys are going to much of anything. All these guys have talent and athleticism. Gotta find some things they can do. Contribute in some ways. Then that extra RB off waivers this season. What was that about? You endlessly talk about your seeming low standard at RB. Just wasn’t a need for him on the roster. Find plenty of guys to be on PS easy. If injuries ravage the RB group then you maybe do something about it. Overall the team was great this year. But a clear easy nitpick. Just hampered the team. Guess the rules of calling up PS guys enable that a bit more. Like I said a nitpick. But the DBs last year….gotta get something…one at least doing something. Sermon this year kind of baffles. Did we really need to go so far as to use a waiver move and roster spot to stash a RB for the next season?

Sermon hampered the team... making no money as the 4th RB?   On a team that was top seed and scored over 30 points every playoff game?     That's hampering the team?

Really?  After all the crap football you have watched from the Eagles..you feel the 2022 team...and particularly the offense...was hampered?

Bears now in position to take 1/2 of the top OT's which they need to do to help Fields

Oh well HF guys.I'm tired going to hit it

Right..so now instead of the top 8 and then Robinson.... now it will be Robinson higher than pick 9....changes the order of the first 9 picks.

Fortunately we pick 10th so nothing should matter much for us.

Always more trades.... probably one involving pick 10

Yes but rostered several young DBs that basically amounted to squat. Talking the franchise here.

How many young cheap DBs we have ready to play here for awhile that developed? Part of the job here. Scott and WAllace played. Stunk. Four or so other guys amounted to squat.

You’ve repeatedly stated how RBs are a Dime a dozen. So why did they keep a crap RB with the last roster spot. More about roster spot and controlling the rights to that player….than the paycheck at that point. Not just a salary cap…also a roster limit.
