Chiefs had first, third round RB. Pacheco just lit it up as a great find Diamond in the rough.

The other guys not so much...especially the 1st round guy who sucked for my fantasy team...lol.

Did the Chiefs need those kind of safeties to win?   I mean you said " need "

The 32 GMs seem to disagree..as they have RB and S and the lowest paid positions.

Seems like you want to build a roster with RBs and DBs...  sizzle over the steak.     I disagree with that.   I would finish my roster with those spots.

They’ve utilized some hybrid guys. Thornhill was my targeted second rounder several years back. Sone great for them.

With the widespread use of the nerdy analytics today... having it constantly under the microscope.... there is a reason why RBs and DBs aren't paid as much.  Reason why the draft usually has QBs when they are considered good prospects...and linemen go early.

Teams analyze and then over analyze... then give it to the guys wearing the pocket protectors... and it has come out to where we see the trends.

" the Colts have Jonathan Taylor, the Giants have Barkley...etc"   yet they don't have nearly the team success as the teams with the top QBs and receiving weapons... and same with defenses... the teams with the better lines have the success.

Even with the extreme no fly zone in Denver and Legion of Boom in Seattle..they had very good if not great DLs.

We've seen it here over the years.

Defenses with Jim Johnson...phenomenal DBs... good to very good defenses, but with him using smoke and mirrors to get pressure sometimes.    Vs the Buddy/ Bud Carson defenses... great DL and one great cover CB... that D always ranked near the top.

Offense was at its best .... 2004, 2017,2022...    look at the WRs and receiving options.... much better than any offense with our top RBs.

Put the committee behind the stud OL ... put a solid group of DBs behind the stud DL. Better for team success.  Ask the nerds.. they will show you the printouts and charts..lol

Know we couldn't afford him but gonna miss Hargrave.  Have to wonder if Suh is on alert to play late in the season if we're in the running. Think we should have kept Edwards. Sign CJ and I'll be happy.

I was a bit surprised TJ left on such an affordable price tag. But we knew we couldn’t outbid the Bears. Plus he’s from Illinois and went to Wisconsin. So seemed like he wanted to go for that team. We have new LB coach and DC….so he was possibly not the same fit.

Little bit if a mystery what Desai I’d thinking. What options would he really need to dial up?

I'm thinking they prefer to play Jurgens at RG this year..but still wouldn't stop me from drafting OL.   Lane said he wants to play 2 more years. Still can't go wrong drafting OL.

Perfect time to trade Lane really. His value is at its peak. Think a contending team will pony up for two or three years with him.

You gotta remember...he won't be playing the role of #1 CB here... he probably would be perfect fit in this defense.

Just so slow though

Still need S….just hasn’t gone away

Got some doubts about CGJ at this point. Clearly we’ve shown him love. Plenty of interest. Yet he’s pouting and looking elsewhere for more. Far from a guy like Bradberry wanting to come here. We had to offer CGJ in the range of 13 mil. He’s just not a leader. Just looking for the payday. Telling me that he’ll be complaint again in two more years trying to hold out. Kind of at the point of having to beg him. Too far for me.

S the good ones are always hitting with that second move actually. But we tried that before. He can only play SS type. Is that what Desai needs? Seems like the FS types are more crucial.

Yeah, but we need to think about Kelce leaving also

Could be good to actually play next to Kelce. Think he could learn more next to him than on the bench.

Curious now if Greedy could swing into being a S. No experience there however or if he is just a BU CB/STer.

I like him developing behind two top vets outside. That’s what we really need for the future. Plus two older Corners probably going to need a backup services.

I think you get a little caught up trying to duplicate others too much. Plenty of ways to win. Going the same formula isn’t the best way. Copycating others is going backwards some. Try thinking outside the box a bit more. Give teams something different. One thing always constant….change.

I'll pass on trading Lane... creates too much dead cap.. and if I want to take care of QB... that's not in his best interest.   If the QB is the ultimate human being...you need to show you have his best interest in mind. No way losing Lane ( a dude that protects him and helps prolong that career)  sends the right message.

This is supposed to be our guy, the future... no way to take care of him.

Way stuck I’m the past. Buddy Ryan came from a whole different era. Dime and Nickel weren’t being utilized 90 percent of the time. Didn’t you notice how having good DBs really gave the pass rush that extra time to get it done?

Not sure the plan hasn't been.... go out and get your best offer and get back to us.   Moves had to be made first to clear cap too.    Idk about any # .. but he wasn't tagged.   Maybe Howie and his guys know the market pretty well?  Maybe your $13 mil # ends up being too high?

Might be time to get his replacement. Not like it sucks to keep such a good Oline. But the guy has been dealing with mental issues. Some say pain pill problems. Father Time comes for all. His max left is three years. I don’t see him making that without another injury. Right now…he could bring some picks in trade wise.

Right....but safeties don't have to bite on the 5 yard out in the first place.

Clearly he’s had plenty of opportunity to come back here. I don’t know what we offered him. But rumors say we’ve made two strong pushes. Once before FA started. Then again recently. Just doesn’t feel right. Like he’s going to be real sour about getting boat loads of money. Clearly he isn’t thirsting to come back and take a good contract.

Me?   You keep mentioning around the league ....etc.  I'm saying how the league was awful this year why try to duplicate how other teams are doing things.   The Eagles already way ahead of the curve by not investing in RBs... and investing on their lines.

No doubt. But all the legit WR are making those moves trying to bait the S. Good QBs try and get the S also. Think that’s one area Hurts can improve on. Maybe work those S a bit more.

And the constant how other teams are managing the cap better?   You see other teams constantly able to get players in like us?

It's great to have an all star backfield for fantasy football and highlights... the flash.  It's just not smart in winning.

Imagine you want to trade Lane and draft a top RB?    That's totally backwards!

I thought we gave different by power running so well. Most seem to want to finesse these days. What I’ve seen the Niners do to keep giving everybody fits. Teams are setup more ready to play that Nickel. Aren’t ready for smash mouth as much. We hit them with those two TE that really hit them also.

I think you are a bit backwards here actually. Holding on to expensive old players. Didn’t you watch how old and slow we got after our SB victory?
