"Young adulthood is the time where most people achieve their peak bone mass. By age 30, your bones will be at maximum strength and bone density." From Verywell health. Don't you think 36 is pushing things a bit?

Ham doesn't get the contract stuff.  Lane was signed to through 2025...3 more seasons.  Not much was guaranteed.   We extended to 2026 and made this year's salary a bonus that we can spread out further.  We also guaranteed some money ...which I believe is the next 2 years if you do the math.    The added money , a big chunk of the fake total is 2026.  He probably doesn't play then.

We don't need him to play in 2025...but he might with the contract in place.  Who knows.   But the extension accomplished everything.  He got paid more and up front.  Cap hit was lowered by a lot...and if he wants to play a 3rd year, it's all set up fir him to do it.

Made a mistake driving fast and reckless being goated on by Georgia staff. The ‘adult’ was in an excursion or something…not any kind of vehicle to be racing in. Just dumb!

Carter, 21, turned himself into authorities at Athens-Clarke County Jail late Wednesday after Athens Police issued warrants for his arrest on misdemeanor charges of reckless driving and racing on Jan. 15 in Athens. He allegedly was racing with Georgia recruiting staffer Chandler LeCroy at extremely high speeds shortly before LeCroy crashed and later died.

Georgia offensive lineman Devin Willock was in LeCroy’s vehicle and died at the scene. Two others were injured. Carter left the scene and originally lied to police about his whereabouts.

He wasn't even charged with leaving the scene because the cop was a WUSS

He played and showed serious grit for the team, very much unlike comparing him to The Bodyguard.

Kelce and Lane have post football in their mind. You can tell they play for love of the game and to dominate.   Peters had his own issues and reasons he needed the money.   Not the same at all when just playing for pay check.

IDK the witnesses are dead. You can race 2 mopeds, that's not the point

I’ve driven fast plenty of times. Got 35 miles per hour over dropped to 19 to avoid reckless driving. Didn’t even have to take a drivers safety class.

Because nobody died....that changes things.

It was for a third season.

4th season. 2026 is 4th year

He didn’t cause it….so there is no charge you can bring

From CBS Sports

Carter left the scene of the crash for more than an hour before returning to the scene and providing statements to police.

Did you ever leave the scene of a fatal crash?

Read what happened.  He stayed at the scene... then later he was allowed to leave, then he came back.   Much different than leaving  before checking on teammates or to avoid police.

"There is no question in my mind that when all of the facts are known that I will be fully exonerated of any criminal wrongdoing,”  He's already a criminal if he is found guilty on the 18th. Not a felony because he was NOT charged for leaving the scene

If he hit the SUV and sent it off the road…totally different.

I bet his agent/coach/whatever told him to go back or your career is OVER

I believe he was called back for additional questions.

He took the plea deal is what I understood

Wouldn't you? Does the lessen the fact he is a risk???

Noone knows,the witnesses are dead

He went back because he left the scene and they issued warrants for his arrest. If he was truthful and told them where he would be and was released there would be no reason to issue a warrant

I just think it's rather DUMB to sign a 32 year old linemen for 4 more years, especially when you are ready to sign your QB to his first big contract

Rather SMART...when extension opens up cap space.   Rather SMART with the 4th year being the one with the highest cap hit, thar goes away if he retires.   Rather SMART to do that all while also putting something in place if he decides to play an unexpected 3rd year.

Again... understanding salary cap is a helpful thing.

Why would he retire and give up 30 million?

Yeah that's a stretch for me to say he can still play at this level 4 years from now. IDK why we did it really. I could see a series of 1 year ones due to his age,but now we locked ourselves in especially with the high guarantee

To save cap space..   you do get the concept of....if he retires we don't pay him right?

30 minutes ago, cunninghamtheman said:

Crazy!

Right..he won't play in 2026...so we don't have to pay . Why is this a hard concept for you guys to understand?

I get the cap space, but why would he retire and give up 30 million? If we knew he wasn't going to play then why offer it???

You are really clueless how contracts work?

Even worse

You are just as bad as Ham with contracts.
