He could have been charged much harsher than he was. Cop even admitted he didn't want the publicity,so IDK. personally I don't need the distractions and his court date is close to draft day(the 14th if I recall) IDK just seems like a punk to me

The cop doesn't charge...The DA  charges people.   This isn't the Wild Wild West.

He wasn't even charged with leaving the scene because the cop was a WUSS

The cop doesn't charge.  They said he remained at the scene until it was ok to leave.  Pay attention to details...not TMZ

IDK the witnesses are dead. You can race 2 mopeds, that's not the point

He had a person in his car. Another witness...both stayed on the scene until cops came...even the wuss cop..lol

THe cop writes the infraction.if he wasn't sighted, the DA can't make up charges. he can only charge for the posted infractions

CBS reported he LEFT and returned an hour later, whereabouts UNKNOWN. Pay attention to details

The cop writes an infraction that the cop would see... what could he write not seeing anything first hand?

Come on now...you are smarter than this.

Yes... he left after already being there from the start.

Obviously there were witnesses who saw him speeding but may not have seen the result

Not what CBS reported

If he was released and they knew where he would be a warrant would NOT have been issued. Not hard to understand

Carter, 21, turned himself into authorities at Athens-Clarke County Jail late Wednesday after Athens Police issued warrants for his arrest on misdemeanor charges of reckless driving and racing on Jan. 15 in Athens. He allegedly was racing with Georgia recruiting staffer Chandler LeCroy at extremely high speeds shortly before LeCroy crashed and later died.

Georgia offensive lineman Devin Willock was in LeCroy’s vehicle and died at the scene. Two others were injured. Carter left the scene and originally lied to police about his whereabouts.

See where it says "he lied"?

The warrant was issued because they did not know his whereabouts because he LIED about it. A warrant was issued in the event he was a flight risk. He DID turn himself in AFTER he found out a warrant was issued

In any case.I don't want him,let some other team take the risk

Right, the cop should have placed him under arrest right there, but didn't want the publicity(he said so himself). The arrest warrant came after he could not be located because he lied to them(another misdemeanor he should be charged with)

I don’t think the officer knew everything. Believe they watched the cameras all through town AFTERWARDS…to piece things together.

You said there were no witnesses left

There was noone else in his car, therefore the witnesses are dead other than bystanders

Ham doesn't get the contract stuff.  Lane was signed to through 2025...3 more seasons.  Not much was guaranteed.   We extended to 2026 and made this year's salary a bonus that we can spread out further.  We also guaranteed some money ...which I believe is the next 2 years if you do the math.    The added money , a big chunk of the fake total is 2026.  He probably doesn't play then.

We don't need him to play in 2025...but he might with the contract in place.  Who knows.   But the extension accomplished everything.  He got paid more and up front.  Cap hit was lowered by a lot...and if he wants to play a 3rd year, it's all set up fir him to do it.

I have a fairly good understanding of the contract stuff. Just didn’t dig all into it other than seeing he got 30 mil guaranteed..,thought he was signed two more years…so it was for a third. But he was signed for three more …it was for a fourth. I don’t keep every single players contract details in my memory at all times.

Obviously they went to talk to him again and he wasn't there. So just a bad character in my view. Maybe he grows out of it,that's the chance any team will take drafting him
