Christian Barmore the Big DT that went to NE.  We had a need at DT...instead taking Dickerson the injured C to back up Kelce.

That was the narrative 2 years ago.

My feeling at the time,  it was an obvious BPA selection due to the fact it didn't seem to be a need.  I feel the same with Jurgens.

Also, I trust Stout when it comes to OL.   Obviously to anyone who took the time to watch the very informative interview with Kelce and Howie... ( which to me is better for us fans to get an inside perspective than any typical media press conference)  ..Howie obviously leans on Stout to make OL picks and seems to almost worship the guy.

I'm a fan of that type of interview with Kelce and Howie, was like 3 guys drinking at a bar talking shop without any filters or reasons to give the old AR/ McNabb standard " gotta work hard"  and say nothing type stuff.

Could be a perfect setup if he does drop to ten. Had top ten pick as the goal for a trade last season. But now we are in the actual player pool….ten isn’t quite high enough….unless Carter does fall. Weak draft!

Besides his off field antics, you are forgetting he did NOT complete his combine and he FANNED his pro day. I fail to see why you guys are sucking his member. Seems he plays when he feels like it. Sucks at the combine and pro day, then demands only visits from "top 10" teams. And this is a guy you want???? I'm rather surprised at you both. What good is having the top talent at your position if you decide maybe you'll play a few games, maybe not. And this has zip to do with the off field issues, these are ON field issues .

GB, I don't know " it's the guy I want"

I'm saying I trust our decision makers. If he falls to the Eagles, we have the resources to do the due diligence.  We have 2 Georgia teammates, we interviewed the edge guy too.

You are looking at things already with a bias.   Partially comes with this need you and Ham have to disagree with each other.    My concern was leaving the teammates. He didn't do that according to all the reports that weren't the initial TMZ type of " let's get the scoop" we see with the media today.

You could easily follow logic that the accident messed with his head and wasn't right during the combine or the pro day.    To me that is biggest concern, can he come back mentally from that...not " the kid is lazy and won't work"

But neither me, you or any other fan is doing all the interviews and behind the scenes work.     It's arrogant and ignorant for me to act like I know it all with this.  Most likely the kid goes before we pick, if so, there is a reason for that.

To dismiss a kid for driving fast.  It's silly...if you believe you can keep him from driving.  The mental recovery has to be an issue though.

But there is no April 18th etc...we can have a discussion on Amy topic, but helps when both of us are up to date on the topic.

It's why I defer to you guys on the specific players in the draft. I don't have the knowledge or the desire to watch college ball.

It’s not obvious BPA when you are pointing out how they always prefer lineman. That’s positional preference.

Rosie is a control freak with a huge ego. Kind of comes with the job…actually. But Stout he can’t be that way with. Stout can walk to anywhere. Rosie gotta beg him to stay practically. I mean Stout could back into Rosie’s car in the parking lot and drive off hit and run style. I don’t think Rosie could fire him.

  • Author

Stout does himself always. He’s earned that confidence by being incredible at his job. You’d be a moron to not listen to his advice and take on things.

How is taking lineman early mean BPA? Not taking a lineman or WR…..that would signal BPA.

  • Author

No Mas that was the worst point arguably you’ve ever made. That’s saying a bunch….I’ll add. You stated taking Oline early meant it was obvious BPA. Exact opposite of the correct point

Rosie take a DB early….that would be definite BPA.

  • Author

Would show the growth we need in him also.

Last season was the perfect lesson on DB strength.

Apparently ALL that is being overlooked for the sake of the almighty dollar(again) NFL.com has him ranked 2nd. IDK how you can rank a guy that high based on college vids when he DID NOT complete his combine and whiffed at his pro day, then DEMANDS he only visit top 10 teams like others are interfering with his time. I just don't like his attitude. you of course are free to feel as you want, but if this team is based on "character" then you are going to fall into the all prison team 2.0. He is a character alright, one I wish to avoid. WAY too many red flags and I don't see how a private chat will change that. he wants the big money, then seems to me like he will do as he pleases. Doesn't seem the type Howie would want here. So his committing a crime "messed with his head"?(How bout the dead people?) I'm sorry I cannot sacrifice my principles nor morals, obviously you can. I'll take the kid with maybe a little less talent who wants to WORK and doesn't make demands on "who can talk to me" That is childish and immature and the wreck had nothing to do with that attitude

OK cool, now if they had glowing tings to say about him why wasn't that released????? Maybe the things they said weren't so hot? IDK just seems to me like a "not worth all the BS" pick. Even blowing the combine he should have had the maturity to say "I need to nail my pro day", but nope he fanned that too. Sounds like MS2 2.0 as far as being an effective pick. My opinion means nothing, but I'm not giving it up

And NONE were drafted by us lol,so maybe he likes "tried and true" guys he can bring in. It's been his style for years now, Blank seems like he will work out to 1 degree or another,so we can get lucky sometimes lol

Saw how even the pass rush launched and was at record setting pace.

I never said I wanted to keep him from driving, you made that up on your own lol. His saving grace was that he had no alcohol content in him,but this is the type kid you want here? I personally do not. We can win without him. I don't need interviews to see trouble down the road. Just like Manziel a loser from the get go. And how can you not overrate someone who has fanned since he left college? Like I said if we take him, I will stop being a fan because I thought this team was better than that and promoted people with solid character not flighty BSers. His "I'm a star" college days are over, not he has to prove it all over again(that he belongs in the NFL) and so far he is 0-2. JMP and you can have yours, but I stand firm. I don't want quitters, nor guys ho make demands because their time is SOOOOOO valuable. You know where I stand,I'm done talking about this BS. We take him,I will become a Panthers fan overnight-book it and BTW he took a plea deal so there were worse things he could have been charged with, now Im done

Who decides who the best player is???? Just like we can't agree on a 10 pick. if he was the BPA there would be nothing to discuss right? Define BPA. I can't. The FO decides who the BPW is at a position they need. If you go by NFL.COM the RB should be our pick at 10 because he is the BPW(according to THEM)

Right... " their BPA"   wasn't the DL the more obvious need 2 years ago?   They prefer DL over OL when drafting early...let's be  honest.   SInce Shawn Andrew's in 2004.. how many OL drafted round 1 or 2 compared to DL?   Winston Justice, Lane, Watkins, Dillard... DL probably a couple dozen.

The fact they took Dickerson, it was obvious BPA for round 2.

Look at their history... round 2 DBs are fairly regular.

I believe we take an O lineman early, Edge is still my #1 choice

Because you don't read the whole point and take context.   You list me in the last 20 years all the OL taking round 2?

I said when DL was the need... and you specifically were all about the Big DT Baremore.. the fact the injured Dickerson...who was a C, was drafted instead of DT...yes...it's BPA.  Injured guy, not supposed to play right away instead of the need...that's BPA.

They draft OL late a lot, not so much early unless round 1.    Day 2 OL...Seamulo and Winston Justice...can't remember anyone else recently?

BPA...the team makes up a board and writes down players names in an order... the guy at the top without his name crossed off is that team's BPA.

It's  not...6.5 vs 6.4 or whatever " grades " ...it's the final board after the entire process has been completed with the list of who they want.
