Who trades up for Carter if he I there at 9 for the Bears?

Think he would make more teams want to trade up to 9 than most other possible options. He could also be the highest option for the Bears to not want to trade back because of.

It just really feels like heavy smoke screening to try and get Carter to drop. He’s been a top pick option since two seasons. Now he’s lazy and doesn’t practice? Lions coach heard some inside intel about him. The racing and driving reckless….is that really driving any team away? I don’t think that would. I think Tyree Wilson has done fantastic the whole way to jump up the board even starting fairly high. So can see him moving ahead of Carter. Who else? Just not close on elite other talent options.

Over the past 20 years the Eagles have had 17 first round picks

DL = 8

OL = 4

WR = 4

QB = 1

Strong evidence how Rosie has taken AR advice about the draft.

But I believe the league has changed some through the last twenty years. Rosie at one point…many years ago admitted he didn’t think he picked good S I believe. Don’t think it was DBs. But his track record of a good S was not strong.

  • Author

He actually got a great Secondary together last season and the results were fantastic. So does that show Rosie anything?

Paying Slay and Bradberry handsomely. Good money even to Maddox.

Was paying Jenkins handsomely.

So who is worth top ten pick this draft?

WR I believe you’re reaching

Weakest class in years

Oline? Possible. Who is so great? Top two guys that are the only ones even close are short armed. You going top ten on a short armed Oline. Reach is so huge for that position. Keeping a defender off your body. Not even sure they are NFL T. Look like G that maybe can play outside eventually.

So Oline is a reach in my mind.

Dline they’d have to push somebody they loved up. That’s possible. Give a few guys as possibility.

But he’s getting up there because they push his grade up based on position. If you don’t see one of the three CBs as a system fit. That’s logical. But they all three are ahead of anybody else. Argue the versatile hybrid S Bama Branch would even be next. He’s close.

I’m not the master of everything. Can’t exactly be sure how everything turns out. Maybe some surprise picks top ten. It’s happened. Maybe my read on the big board isn’t perfect either. But seems like when I see the consensus opinions and combine that with my own….BPA comes down to RB or CB.

Both Murray and Fields are young. Niners high pick I’ve questioned massively also. Jags QB looked terrible early on with a bad team. Yet him I believed in. He’s not so great with a bad team and coaching. But he can get it done on a good team. Just like I’ve talked about Gannon’s coaching abilities. He’s just getting going also. Maybe as a HC he works better. Clearly a hard working coach. But thriving against the weak opponents isn’t the goal. Need to get every win. But you made these points plenty last season. Or I guess now I mean two seasons ago. Top QBs were breaking completion percentage records against him. Then we faced much weaker level QB play. His D had the good stats you like to judge things too much on. Then got TB and got romped. This year…great D…but SB…terrible. Being capable of stellar performances is one thing. Can’t choke in the big moments though. Can’t do anything with those guys. If the goal is Lombardi.

It's tough to figure out which QB you think would fumble and give the opponent a free 7 points in the Superbowl.

The proof really only comes with what players are chosen. You can win the trade wars on paper all day. But always comes down to the pick. I stressed how we had a situation to win now so massively last season. Siri had a new team that he is building. So bringing in longer term players was good for the long term as well as short term.

The team did well to win now last year.  A culture looks to be there for the new talent that needs to be added.

The idea of " top ten" for the trade to be worth it is just flat out dumb.   The idea is to get more long term pieces.   The trade with the Saints was a no-brainer taking advantage of desperate team.    Would be great to have that again, we shall see.

Not too mention Saints got Olave. We enabled them to make the run on WR to put us out. He actually was about the largest factor on O in the game we lost to them. First drive he made a few catches. Only thing their O did the whole game. We still got top seed. Won the NFC. So maybe that loss wasn’t much of a factor.

We got AJ Brown.

Don't need the class to be strong,  just need our selection to be.

Was Dickerson better choice or Baremore?    Kelce was 6th round, Mailata 7th...so who is arrogant enough to say there isn't a great OL in this draft.    It would take a really arrogant pompous individual to make that definitive statement.   Good thing we don't have that type on this board.

I remember the so called "experts" crying about the Eagles wasting a 7th on Mailata

I never figured out just how you waste a 7th on a prospect.

Howie on the Kelce podcast was pretty transparent.  Saying they look for the physical traits because they believe Stoutland can teach the techniques at the elite level.   If we draft OL early, I would logically assume Stout giving the recommendation.

I’ve stated I see Fields as entertaining. Think he’s better than most with bad situations. But have my doubts about his abilities to step up to lead a team that’s of quality to get there. Been talking about how crucial this factor is for me. Not much interest in how good a guy can be on a bad team. What matters is can he do what’s needed to go all the way?

We had the same trepidations about Hurts. We gave Hurts a good team,a "can't fail" team. They are doing that now with Fields(or attempting to)
