Yeah... I'm saying invest thst pick to help your QB. I've been saying that for a while...the idea should be to show him your investment in getting him help.

It's a deep line draft,so you could argue this case easily. I would love to have him

No trade clause had to be conceded in such a team friendly deal. Not sure if everybody here understands what all is so team friendly about this contract. The huge part is the length. The longer the contract the better for the team. A five year extension is a huge win for the team.

The talk on the radio has been that the Eagles went with the shorter deal than Mahomes...good for Hurts as he can get another deal by age 30.

IDK,I suppose it's possible to get Njigba at 10,but there is a risk you lose him and may need to move up and IDK if Howie would do it unless we trade some next draft picks(since we will have comps). So it's complicated now lol

Yeah... it's very logical.  So is taking a lineman...on either line.   That's why I say you can't get everything,  gotta sacrifice something.

Plus he played with Smith,so there is that chemistry right off

Was always complicated....because as you said, we knew Hurts was going to get extended.  Nothing has changed the whole time... the open mind view of the different ways we can go in the draft should have always been there.

We have a lot of " holes" or " needs" long term.   It's why the luxury pick of RB makes no sense.  Has you be linemen or WR... if not you would think DB is the choice.

The no trade clause is for show...doesn't mean anything.

For public perception it’s important. Teams like to try and make players the villains at times so they can do what they want without massive fan backlash.

Well you need to make sure all 3 get stats. Quez was a late pick,so he is "expendable" as far as stats go. With Njigba you're going to have to get the stats for all 3. Round 1 picks expect to get the stats

And you know AJ will lip off if he's not getting enough targets

It's irrelevant to the educated fan. How often will a player want to stay where he isn't wanted.   The roster is already built well around him.  There is no need to worry about it... if anything he can get cut before the monster 2028 salary kicks in.

You can do that if you keep getting first downs.  Success breeds success.

So,I mean if you can satisfy all 3 by all means, but you have to pass more

The salaries are rising. Even very soon when these other QBs sign this offseason even. So waiting until after Herbert(on and on) signs increases his value. Financially it’s worth more to not even sign an extension right now. A three year extension gives a much quicker turnaround to cash in on the rising salaries. Such a gift by Hurts to sign for five years. I’d argue that was the main get Rosie was striving for.

Idk... I think he got a taste of why not to be that way last year... wrong city to be that way.

If it works LOL. Just saying Quez target share was an afterthought, but you can't do that with 3 top guys,so more pass plays are needed, which is fine with me,but that is on Hurts now(and the play calling)

It's not a gift,it's a committment for 5 years

Really not possible. Just realistically. The way they kept both WRs happy this season was a great balancing act by a prolific O.

Well a SB appearance always helps that LOL. I like Njigba,I just figured there were other slots later but either works. it will be interesting to see what Howie does

Financially you couldn’t find anybody that would tell you it was not accepting less money.

And Quez got little. Thats what I'm saying. You can;t ignore Njigba like that or if you hit him alot that is at the expense of AJ or Smith

He is now the highest paid QB,what do you mean by less money?

I'd argue that there is no way the last 3 years of the deal happen to what it currently states on paper.  They will redo the deal or move on after 2025.   Hurts will get a raise then if he earns it.  He isn't locked into anything... if he is as smart as you say... he understands after seeing what's gone on within the Eagles organization...that players get raises in a manner that helps both the player and the team.

On the flip side he gets more money than Dak at the sane time...because he signed early.  He already starts $23 mil ahead of Dak without taking a snap year 4.    Next year the big money kicks in to where he should get more than Dak did with his tag.

Yet still in a way to keep the cap hit down.

This idea of waiting and playing for a couple million ... just bad financial planning.  Put the money in your pocket early, then you stay ahead of the game each time it comes to renew.

Because Quez didn't step up...he makes plays then the chains move.  Then the rest of the guys all get more opportunities.  Hurts should be passing 40 times per game... Plenty of targets to go around.

Interesting to see you’ve changed your position on players opting out of college postseason games. You know Njigba opted out of the college football playoffs.
