I like Malcolm Brown as a compliment to Sanders. Very underrrated player. Overall trade doesn’t work for me however.

Dillard is a heck of a talented LT. Don’t think he can play any other position however. Mailata we haven’t seen enough of. I think most(myself included) think he only gets better with experience at this point. Maybe Dillard on the Left and Mailata on the right is more a long term answer. I’ve suggested it before. I’m pretty sure No Mas was discussing this at some point as well.

Kelce is near done. Your statement was about 2021. And to that you probably are right. I can’t envision Kelce playing three more seasons. He’s still durable and very effective. Answers the bell every week. But....it is time(next season) to think about his replacement. Seumalo...Herbig...maybe we already have the answer. Nothing can screw up the whole offense like a C that is terrible. So assuming one of those guys takes over at C then we lose a G.
Brooks has a track record. No need to say more. Seumalo has shown himself serviceable at LG. Herbig looksservicable at both G spots. But if one moves to C then we just have two starting G and not much in the backup dept. Timing is bad to stand up for Pryor. But I actually think he’s decent on the right side. They moved him around too much this offseason and threw him off track. Hopefully the rest of this season will be enough for him to get back on track at RG(optimistically RT as well). Opeta I like more than Brown. Neither seems worthy of a roster spot however. PS level only.
So I can see adding to the Oline this offseason. I believe there are many ways to solve the puzzle to make us a great team. Trading Lane....or Brooks...or both...are ideas I’d consider for the right price. Good or great players are the ones that can bring good or great returns. Shedding those salaries could enable many options for us. Could we be a better team as a whole with Mailata at RT and Herbig at RG? I’m not suggesting these players should win out versus the starters. I’m talking value. Cheaper options that can be serviceable starters with upside and give us money to improve the rest of the team could be what’s best for the team as a whole.

(Sigh) the first thing that MUST happen is to keep guys on the field,or their talent doesn't mean diddly. That's my number one thing I do, is fire my S&C staff. You know these injuries have been annual events for us for WAY too long. That needs to stop.1,2 guys out ok, most teams have those, but 4,5,6 is unbelievable EVERY year!!!

Slay has given up 27 catches on the season. I was a bit surprised by that. He’s given up some noticeable receptions but I thought he’s been playing well. But 27 receptions given up in seven games is a pretty large volume of catches. Much are short underneath receptions. Those don’t bother me...unless it’s third down past the sticks.

Why is there such a massive focus on our G spots all of a sudden think we are good at G this year is odd because of massive string of injuries but 2021 think our OL is fine.

LT-Mailata/Dillard battle it out

LG-Semaulo/Herbig

C-Kelce(if he retires possibly Semualo here)

RG-Brooks top 3 G in the game maybe the best

RT-Lane top 3 RT in the game maybe the best

And this list doesn't even include Driscoll and Juriga, one of whom has already shown quite a lot and the other one of which the team is really high on. So that's eight guys (Mailata, Dillard, Seumalo, Herbig, Brooks, Lane, Juriga and Driscoll) who will all definitely be here next year and who all have either played well in actual games or who have caught the eye of the coaching staff.

Plus we have lottery tickets in Tega and Toth. So that's 10 guys who will show up in training camp next year with a year in the system ready to go.

The #Eagles have placed LB Nathan Gerry (ankle) and DE Genard Avery (elbow) on IR.

Bout to see if LB play improves.

I can't see it getting worse. The nice thing is that Edwards and Singleton played together against the Jets in the final preseason game last year, and the Cowboys offense right now is probably about as good as the offense the Jets put on the field, with the exception of the wrs and Zeke.

I think they will be much better in zone defense and against the run. We may struggle in man coverages, but the idea behind going light at LB is that if they make a mistake, there is a third level of the defense behind them.

I can but the few games I watched this year LBs were hardly the biggest issue.

Considering we play a ton of man this year under Schwartz that being a weakness of the Lbs that should be a massive concern. Also have to see who takes over setting up the D Gerry wore the mic in his helmet so that duty  will go to another player how do they ah file setting the D

Finally what we’ve both been looking for

Have to say I am not unhappy to hear this!

Whitesnake was a disappointment this season. I really wanted to be optimistic about his development. It was hard to believe in him...but we knew Schwartz was very loyal to him.

I’m of the believe our LBs are bad and Gerry though bad was also a scapegoat for the rest. So I want to see improvement since he will be out. Not sure Dallas will be the right test for that but if the LBs struggle that’s even more alarming

If the LB play is the same or god forbid worse I can only hope we turn to the rookies which I’ve wanted to do for awhile now get Taylor out there let him take his lumps and growing pains

Sounds like DiNucci will be the QB I’d expect to see the read option. And Dallas trying to do jet sweeps and get to the outside things our D has struggled with

It was Gerry that was constantly getting beat in man coverage, so we will see how Singleton does replacing him. My guess is that Singleton will set the coverages because I see him as the dime linebacker.

As far as the injuries, Lane and Malik were full participants, so I assume they will play. Curry is back, so I think they will call up Williams to give them four DEs and four DTs for the game. LeBlanc and James are out, so we are light at corner. Elijah Riley was the third team slot corner, but I think he has to get added to the roster in order to play as he is out of callups. Personally I would rather see Maddox at the slot, Mills at CB2 and then Epps and Wallace at SS/third safety, but that doesn't seem to be a possibility.

Doug seems to have laid the groundwork for Peters to be the LT and Lane to be the RT, with Pryor and Herbig as the guards. I think that's dumb, but we will see.

Goedert is trending toward playing, so we will see our full offense in action minus Miles Sanders and Seumalo, and they are both possibilities after the bye.

Not sure if that Oline lineup is dumb. Feels like chances are low that both Lane and Peters can play the whole game. So we have Mailata ready to plug and play at T without shifting everybody else around.

It's dumb to me because they were doing everything they could not to put Matt Pryor into the lineup, and now they have a chance to bench him, and they decide to kowtow to Peters.

So not only are the benching a guy who needs reps, they are putting someone in the game who has been pretty bad. Maybe when someone bulldozes Pryor and puts Wentz in the hospital they will rethink their strategy.

Games I watch he wasn’t getting beat in man had some mishaps in zone give you that. But regardless we shall see I’m not expecting much improvement if any from the LBs

Unless we want to talk about Schwartz manning Gerry up against Claypool which was dumb regardless.

Tbat was a terribly called D play and great recognition by Ben and Claypool

I’m going with the second paragraph part. Great job by them

I feel a need to put a disclaimer out: I respect everybody here’s opinion. I have my own. So I don’t mean to come off as an a**! I’m just a very opinionated fu67er! Don’t mean offense....but dam!it I got to be me...too old to care about people not accepting my ideas. I hope you all can just accept me...for me.

Yeah, once again, getting bashed for a "differing view".After watching him toss 300 pound guys like they weighed 85 pounds,my thoughts were "hey let's put a smile on this guys face and let him truck some people" and I want a poster of that smile in my man cave.if we tried it once successfully, you now can call him eligible at a later time and NOT USE him.But now teams have to set a D for him at the GL(called a decoy if I recall)

I'm still not getting it.  Are you saying tackle eligible...like a TE ... or line him up in the backfield like a RB?   It's different. Which one is it?

11 hours ago, GreenbleedinNC said:

Yep,that all I was saying.I referred to the Philly special which Joe says "no relation to that".OH.but there IS.It's about practicing a play(ONE!!) or 2 that can turn a game around./So,at the right time(like the Philly special),I can see Mailata as our "fridge".Sorry but GL stopping this guy from the 2.It's not like we are a well oiled machine,so let's try a few things "off the given path".if it works, now you have a decoy play you can use anytime you feel like it.if it doesn't it's ONE lost play(like we don't have those now?)

Ok...then we can wait until the SB like the Philly special.  Maybe this is the plan all along?

I can agree with you on this, however.Dillard has played very little, there is still room to coach his shortcomings you mention.Even if it fails,he has learned what other G"s have learned and knowledge is power. He could incorporate some of those 'style changes" into being a  better OT if that is his calling.I'm just tossing thoughts out here.Food for thought.NP,you can agree or not, thats why we are all here.I just want a SET LINE,the same 5 every week. Wentz needs this to get his timing down and REALLY expose the weakest link.Moving guys round for every game doesn't really help you do that.Coach would know, then just say "this is your job,do your job" and stop moving them everywhere.THEN we can see what we need to do

But Dillard is a next year decision...why mention him with the idea of moving guys around. We have to do that now because of all the injuries.   If anything on the OL, I think Herbig has been the constant outside of Kelce.  If he keeps playing well, and you bring Semaulo and Brooks back, G is taken care of. But still need that 3rd OT or at least competition for Mailata.

Now speaking of this week.  Lane and Peters as the bookends.   Mailata sitting.  What that tells me. They don't expect Lane to finish.  Not sure why he just doesn't rest before the bye week..plus after a Thursday game... would be 24 days off!  Probably exactly what he needs!  And if Lane is playing,  I agree, put Peters at LG keeping Herbig at RG..  Lane goes out, bring in Opeta, then shift Peters to LT, Mailata to RT.   My guess is they agree with you,  Lane comes out, only one move would be replacing him with Mailata.
