Unless we want to talk about Schwartz manning Gerry up against Claypool which was dumb regardless.

Tbat was a terribly called D play and great recognition by Ben and Claypool

I think that play was set up with the prior 10 times we got beat on the bubble screen.  Sneak the guy up the seem when everyone is thinking bubble screen.

Btw...that scares me this week. The QB is irrelevant on the bubble screen.  They have the WRs to hurt us with that play... but really I think Temple could hurt us with a bubble screen.

I feel a need to put a disclaimer out: I respect everybody here’s opinion. I have my own. So I don’t mean to come off as an a**! I’m just a very opinionated fu67er! Don’t mean offense....but dam!it I got to be me...too old to care about people not accepting my ideas. I hope you all can just accept me...for me.

I'm still not getting it.  Are you saying tackle eligible...like a TE ... or line him up in the backfield like a RB?   It's different. Which one is it?

Whichever one works the best in practice. I watched him toss 300 pound guys to the ground like rag dolls. Not buying he can't run a yard or 2

Ok...then we can wait until the SB like the Philly special.  Maybe this is the plan all along?

That wasn't planned either Joe,it was suggested by Foles, but you can bet they practiced it

WAY early annual UDFA/ late pick RB. He sat out 2019 due to "academic issues" I will check his stats as this rotten 2020 season progresses

I mean, the job of an OL is to toss 300lb pound guys around.   Probably why he came here to play OL right?  In a goal line situation I would prefer my OL guys creating space,  the RB needs to find it. I wouldn't mind seeing him catch a ball though.

I will try to make this point... rugby they don't have pads, they don't block and they don't tackle at the knee.  Do I feel he could run a guy over if the defender took him one on one up high. .. absolutely.  My gut tells me they go low on him. And I'm not sure I want him away from being the blocker.

I get it, the play calling on the 2 point conversions has been weak with the different type of running calls where it's the QB keepers/options.   I'm looking at the bulk of the plays,  not trick plays. We could use the big TE and some bigger weapons in the pass game though.  It seemed like Doug forfeited with a few of the option calls.

Yeah, they were supposed to do it the week before, but obviously never came up.

We face a few interesting roster decisions over the next few days.

They will add a DT. Either someone gets added to the roster before the game or they call up Williams and add someone after the game. The three candidates are Williams, McGill or Rush, who visited this week. My guess is they call up Williams and add Rush, who they like and who played well here previously. He would then have the bye week to pass covid protocol and recover from a slight injury he has. But if Williams gets called up and plays well, maybe he gets the spot. I think he fits this defense, and the coaches like him.

If Ford gets added to the roster, that gives them 11 DBs, but two are hurt and we are light at corner, so they may call up Jacquet for this game. But both Arnold and Riley have corner experience, and my guess is that one of them has been practicing at second team outside corner alongside Jacquet. If they have shown something, it wouldn't surprise me to see one of them added to the roster and Parks let go, who has seemingly tumbled down the depth chart.

On offense, we will probably cut a TE to make room for Goedert. I can't see us carrying four guys at that position. Butler has been playing gunner on special teams, but I think Ford will take over that spot, so he may be the one who gets axed. Although it depends on how he has looked in practice.

Goedert being back is pretty big for both the run and pass game.

My guess is that Croom or Butler is cut to make room for Goedert.

Goedert is a huge piece. A TE that can block and break tackles changes the offense.

Jacquet seems to be an emergency only roster addition. But I could see Williams getting 15 to 20 snaps, especially if we get up big early. Hopefully we will take advantage of them.

We are a fairly healthy team now no excuses in my eyes not to dominate tomorrow night in a win

Happy for Jacquet. Really seems like he earned this. I don’t expect to see him playing as part of the defense. But being active on Gameday should give him a nice boost to keep working hard.

Jesus,we can argue for a week over 1 freakin play. Just say "that could be cool" and we coulda ended it there lol.I watch some other teams that used that play(yeah this year too both catching and as a RB near the GL) .Apparently you can never teach a rugby guy in 3 years time to take hits below the waist? And being ONE play as an offensive weapon why would be be blocking for himself? I can't believe I suggest ONE play and all hell breaks loose

So the play I suggested could be used anytime if they practiced it like they did the special. If a game is on the line, say a round 1 playoff game, or we need a 2 pt conversion with 3 seconds remaining in the game,we could toss that play in.They won't be ready for it,nor have they game planned for it,nor for that matter seen how we execute it.It's not like we are undefeated and on fire offensively here,a little creativity could be key

Good game for Goedert to work off any rust and get back in the swing of things.Should not be a difficult game for him.Ertz has been disappointing (people are dropping him in fantasy also).Maybe Goederts return lights a fire under his arse.He needs it.Like to see an epic game from Ertz, helps us peddle him lol.if I had to decide between Butler and Croom,I would keep Croom. Like his upside. Converting players like Butler usually takes more effort

He's an interesting case. He was a wr but switched in college pretty much because his team didn't have anyone else to play there. He's 6'2" and runs a 4.4, so he has the size and speed to be a corner, but is just really raw.

He's a longshot to ever turn into anything, but if he did he could be really good.

At any rate I was watching vids of Butler,he is a WR. Converting him(or trying to) is a waste in my view.As a slot guy he could be a match-up nightmare

Lee being back shouldn't make much of a difference, but Looney will help them. They may be better with DiNucci since he is more mobile than Daulton and they can run a simpler scheme.

Just for the sake of discussion,if we added a RB in the next draft would you rather have a banger or a COP scat back(like Sproles)

He’s been cut

So it now comes out that Gerry was playing through an Achilles injury
