Might help explain some of what’s been going on with Gerry. Also explain why Schwartz was sticking up for him knowing he was battling playing through the pain.

NC, I think we’d just want to get the best RB we could. Have to be able to catch the football in today’s NFL. Even more so in our offense.

We are a fairly healthy team now no excuses in my eyes not to dominate tomorrow night in a win

Well, the bench guys are healthy at least?   your 2 starting tackles IDK if I would say healthy???  Your starting RB is out ... the WRs are still backups and young players, not sure if I would say they should dominate?    On the flip side, we should dominate the line of scrimmage with out DL ... yet somehow bubble screens are worrying me, they have the advantage big time with their WRs and our DBs.   I'm sure there will be a few plays where our 4 guys won't get there, any QB can put the ball to his WR if the WR is open enough.

Do I think we win, yes.... but the WR/DB matchup for them ...and the fact Doug does not like to run the ball... those 2 things lead me to believe it will not be as easy at it should be.  Because ti should be an easy one.  Same as Washington was when Doug/Wentz kinda ruined it.  This time, if we jump ahead... run that ball... Sanders or no Sanders!  Learn from game 1.  Doug usually does, so we will see.

Jesus,we can argue for a week over 1 freakin play. Just say "that could be cool" and we coulda ended it there lol.I watch some other teams that used that play(yeah this year too both catching and as a RB near the GL) .Apparently you can never teach a rugby guy in 3 years time to take hits below the waist? And being ONE play as an offensive weapon why would be be blocking for himself? I can't believe I suggest ONE play and all hell breaks loose

To be honest... if Mailata is not starting, what I would really like to see tomorrow night, is that he goes in as the 6th OL to block for a running play on short yardage.  Right next to Lane and plow Lawrence on that right side!!!!!!

Wentz has had these WRs for weeks now and they have been more productive then the old guys so no excuse there. Also only WR starting right now that is probably backup level is Hightower. Ward/Reagor both were in line to have huge roles in the O essentially starters Fulgham has been playing like a starter as well. He gets Geodart back helps at TE I mean honestly the way Ertz was playing Rodgers was an Improvement. He gets Reagor back so there is the speed element we lacked.

RB- Scott isn’t Sanders so that does hurt us but Dallas is one of the worst teams against the run they are one of the worst Ds in general.

OL- Herbig been a starter all year as has Kelce. Jason Peters is healthy how long not sure but we opted him over Mailata so he is fine.Lane might be hampered some but again we opted to play him over Mailata so we are saying he is healthy. Worse case scenario at least if one of them goes down we have Mailata to fill in either side. So yea healthy.

So as I stated from the beginning we are fairly healthy for the first time this year. We are playing a team that is spiraling and has a terrible defense.

Falling flat on O isn’t an option there is no excuses for it

Just for the sake of discussion,if we added a RB in the next draft would you rather have a banger or a COP scat back(like Sproles)

The guy that could pass block, and take a few carries per game to where Doug trusts him.   I think Sanders and Scott lack in that area and are good enough pass catching etc.  If we aded that piece along with a blocking type TE to play with Goedert, I think we could do much more on offense.   WE stink at blitz pickup, we stink ate running the ball in 2 TE sets.  I think 2 important flaws in our offense.     Plus if Sanders gets hurt, I want a guy that Doug would trust handing the ball off to if we were up 17-0 with less than 2 minutes to go in the half when Sanders is out.  And continue to feed that guy the rest of the game without having to pass too much when we have a big lead.

Yep... so no excuse for poor play....     not the same as dominating.  Not expecting these guys to " dominate"  and NFL game yet.  Just a difference IMO.  Special players dominate, the rest should be able to do their job.

Lmao so by that standard even if we had Djax Alston and everyone healthy we shouldn’t dominate because they are not special either Fulgham has been more special then both of them

The domination would have to come from our defense.   The DL having a good game will be huge tomorrow night!!!!!

Yes, by that definition... if we had Brooks, Lane and Semaulo healthy on that OL, they should allow a healthy DeSean, Alshon, Reagor, Ertz , and Sanders to dominate that Dallas defense.   I'm just not expecting domination from Herbig, Pryor, knicked up Lane, the current version of Peters... along with our young WRs that are doing a solid job.     Yes, expecting domination at this point from those guys on offense I think is a little much.  The DL is the unit I expect to dominate in their matchup, which should allow the rest of the team to just do their jobs and we should be fine.

So this version of Ertz who has done nothing Djax that has done nothing Alshon who has been meh dominate. But Fulgham best WR start since TO Reagor the same, Geodart who has been better then Ertz don’t mmmmm

Sorry Dallas D is terrible our OL even with the backups though and the weapons around Wentz should dominate no excuses

THE HEALTHY VERSIONS... that was the point right.   If THOSE HEALTHY versions of the guys who were supposed to start and play together, then yeah they should dominate.   The guys in their tomorrow should put up close to 30 points.  The league is averaging 25 points right now... upper 20s or low 30s isn't dominating.   I think we can expect our offense to continue to put up those points , but that finally our defense could hold a team down.

So your OL dominating would be Wentz is rarely touched and we can run the ball all night.   Do you expect that domination from that OL???     Do you expect our WRs to put up a ton of yards and pretty much get open with ease all night?    I don't think it's going to be that level, nor does it have to be.   BTW... Yes, would love to see this several times early to wear Lawrence down.

I would like to see a game where Wentz doesn't get beat up.   Going into the bye week with a rematch vs the Giants who hit him a lot last game.  I think psychologically it would be huge, then have our OL do better vs NY and it could give Wentz about a month free from getting hit 20 times per game and maybe some momentum for our OL.   They need that. There is a difference between playing well and not playing as poorly as most expect.   People are excited about Mailata, but I think having Herbig prove to be solid over the long haul can be a valuable thing going forward.  Would be nice if he got to play next to the same guy 2 games in a row.

OSU/PSU,should be a good game.I get to see my round 1 pick play tonight(parsons)

Yeah,I was asking because I think if we take one it will be a late RB pick, unless someone extrordinarily talented falls through the cracks,so I m looking at like round 5 RB's

Yeah IDK,see,no real sense getting clones of player we already have.I was thinking a guy like Killins but with a little more beef

He opted out, so no go on that.

On an unrelated note, this is a pretty good video on our oline play.

Some things I found interesting.

Jordan is catching instead of punching, which I think is a defense against getting beat by spin moves or outside rushes. But it leaves him open to push pull moves. I think the theory behind this is that those moves take longer to develop, so it still gives time for Wentz to get rid of the ball. But he's going to have to develop a solid punch to counter this.

Herbig appeared to struggle with the switch from left to right, as he kept dropping his inside foot allowing a path to the qb.

At times we looked bad because we had bad protections called, or the RB hit the wrong hole. Also, we did flat sets by the tackles against wide techniques, which got them roasted. So our bad performance wasn't entirely the fault of the players.

I agree. Fact aside that from a pure "entertainment" value that it would be fun to see what GB put out here.

So I guess we look at things differently.   You seem to be focused in the size and measurables of the player.   I'm focused on the skills.  We don't have a RB that can pass block well.  If that guy is 150lbs I don't really care.  If he can carry the load if Sanders is out to where Doug doesn't give up on running...  if he is 150lbs I don't care.       You can have whatever size makes you happy..  if he can pick up a blitz so when Hightower gets open deep, he can block the blitzer and Wentz can have a clean pocket, then it works for me.

Slay has given up 27 catches on the season. I was a bit surprised by that. He’s given up some noticeable receptions but I thought he’s been playing well. But 27 receptions given up in seven games is a pretty large volume of catches. Much are short underneath receptions. Those don’t bother me...unless it’s third down past the sticks.

Besides him,our secondary/LB's are mediocre.He can't do this alone

So your saying all the guys besides Scott that NONE of them can block? If that's true we are going about the RB, position all wrong. And if those guys CAN block, why are they not being used at least for that? They must not be able to or we would be utilizing them,so now I have no clue what kind of back to seek out lol. Wonderful

Small guy(170),reminds me of Sproles. Love this kids patience and footwork and BURST once he finds the hole.Doubt his blocking ability, but he's elusive and could be a nice outlet weapon for a hurried Wentz. Like him if he can be had in round 5 as my last mock suggests. We could re-open the "sproles plays" in the playbook. If you draft this kid and pick up my UDFA(at this point Evans-Mich) that would be a nice mix of RB's to choose from

21: R1 P21 LB Micah Parsons - Penn State
53: R2 P21 LB Chazz Surratt - North Carolina
84: R3 P20 DL Tedarrell Slaton - Florida
148: R5 P7 RB Pooka Williams - Kansas
162: R5 P21 WR Demetris Robertson - Georgia
200: R6 P21 CB Roger McCreary - Auburn
216: R6 P37 S Leon O'Neal Jr. - Texas A&M
220: R6 P41 CB Tariq Castro-Fields - Penn State
223: R6 P44 EDGE Rashad Weaver - Pitt
244: R7 P21 DL Alim McNeill - NC State

Sorry but If I can get Parsons and Surratt,I would pull that trigger all day.2 NICE young LB's? Oh yeah I'm there!!! I will seriously doubt parsons lasts till 21, but I am also assuming we pick alot earlier than 21 lol,so I will stand by these picks.I would like to have one or the other of these LB's. If one is not, then I go with a top CB prospect
