It’s been Anderson, Carter and Wilson for a very long time. I don’t see any Oline prospects worth that.

Disagree,we have a multi million dollar QB to protect now and you're going to trust Opeta? Sorry, not buying

Jurgens was drafted to replace Kelce.  I really don't care what he does until then.    That's my opinion.   Playing guard in 2023 is so irrelevant in the big picture.

You get an OL that is considered a top guy...if Jurgens beats him out then fine...that other guy will then play guard when Jurgens moves to C.

Also... it's arrogant ,cocky, dumb, stupid ...to assume all 5 OL are healthy and finish the season.

If one of the other 4...besides Jurgens goes down... what happens?  Driscoll hasn't been able to stay healthy.  It's the last year of his contract.

There is a need for OL... much more than CB... it's not even really close.

Be great to have Jurgens out there side by side in battle with his master. Better way of learning than just backing up reps in practice. See how he calls out the protections and read and react on his own.  Ideal teaching moment…unless he flat out is terrible at G.

Trusted Opeta last couple of seasons also.

I’m not sure how much you can even manipulate these rookie contract structure nowadays. Think it’s fairly set terms.

Money isn't really the issue but blowing a 1st round pick can set a team back for years

And what were we paying Hurts? You wanna get him hurt with 5 LONG years to go?

Be more ideal to be Jurgens. But Opeta can capably man the position, pretty well already proven.

Sure, as a BACK UP

Just in the SB after the Reagor pick not that long ago.

4 games is proof,ok if you say. He is a BU for a reason(because he is a BU)

He’s started games already and shown he can handle the job and should only be improving here with his experience under Stout.

Who are his and Lanes BU's then?

Seumalo was getting paid…and they knew they were shipping him out. Business decision. Go hard on the last year we pay the certain player. It had to be a true clear beating Out winning the RG position. Opeta didn’t dominate or anything. Has a grip that is unreal I’d he gets a hold of the guy though. Seumalo didn’t fail so bad to force any change either. Which is all fine. Put in the second round pick we redshirted last year.  If he can’t do the job then you have a good alternative. That’s not even counting the four other players vying for a spot behind them. Driscoll looks good backing up on the right side especially. RG or RT he can handle.

SO Opeta and Lane go down and you put your newly paid QB at risk? I would rather have a top OL draft pick as insurance. I can't risk my QB going down because I didn't have adequate depth

We'll know in 4 hours

LOL ok we can go out and sign 37 FA's too, what is your point?

Ok...maybe you understand this better.

Let's say the Eagles trade pick 10 and pick 30 to move up to take Jalen Carter.

You don't want Jalen Carter....you would prefer we didn't do that and just draft a guy at 10... and 30.

So ...  instead of Carter we could have 2 guys ...correct?

Now... instead of Seattle having to draft a back up QB... they could pick 2 guys.... one at 37 and one at 83.

You see that.   In order for Seattle to move up to 30 and draft Hooker...they are sacrificing the two players they could draft at 37 and 83.

It's not just pick 83...it's using both picks to get a player.

See what happened to Kyler Murray because they did not plan correctly?

Let's say another guy is better at RG.   As a Hurts fan...who would you prefer to be protecting him... the better player ..or the guy studying to play another position?

37,83=2 players. They are trading those 2 players for pick 30-1 player 2-1 is 1. They lose ONE player but get a better quality pick(in theory) If you don't like anyone at 30 and you trade that out for a vet that is still 1 player 2-1 vet=1 player difference

We’d have Jurgens and Driscoll. With Toth third stringing that. Six other Oline trying to earn on a spot on the squad right now also.

If you want to risk 255 million to do it that way, more power to you. I'm thrilled you trust those guys to protect your invesment(the biggest investment a team makes) Doesn't seem too intelligent to me

Jarid  Williams, Roderick Johnson and Fred Johnson all vying to maybe win a backup LT spot.

Not to mention how would the RB's fair with 2 BU's on the right(strong) side?
