LMAO OH you knew he was a franchise QB already?? You need to partner with Ham since you can predict things also. Amazing we have TWO clairvoyants on this board

Nobody knows who a "franchise QB" is coming out of college.......so many 1st round QBs wash out after being drafted with that label.  QBs coming out STILL have a lot of developing to do to be effective in the pro game.  That means guys like Young, Stroud, and Richardson's success depends on the circumstances, the coaching staffs and the supporting cast.

But those teams, all the media think of them as "franchise QBs" just like all the 1st round busts over the years.

No such thing as a franchise QB until they actually develop and produce.....some guys will be drafted later and/or develop slower.   But NFL teams are too impatient for QBs to develop like the eagles did with Hurts.  They throw their 1st round "franchise QBs" into starting right away to save the franchise without supporting cast and wonder why he struggles.  Trevor Lawrence was on the verge of losing his career until they hired Doug Pedersen.......and Lawrence made huge strides last year after a terrible rookie season with that clown Urban Meyer.

Once Hurts replaced Wentz, I said all along he had all the tools and intangibles......what we didn't know was whether or not he was going to get the time to develop.  Many fans here still doubted he would be good enough before last season started....Had he gone to 28 or so other teams, he would never have got the chance to develop into what he is now.

Yes but my picks would not require loss of draft capital

So are these 7th rounders that important to you?   They aren't for me... at this point...2023... if we walk away with 2 more targets... good ones... then get the head start on the UDFAs... with the cap space and trade assets we have for 2024... we can get some vets to fill in some key spots.

Give me my 4 guys... and the hungry UDFAs ... and the vets... we should be good to go.

I just don't want to be..."man we missed that stud WR, so we had to take JJAW...because we didn't want to sacrifice the pick we used for Shariff Miller or the QB that was immediately cut that year."

Just get the target.  It's been a nice change as opposed to " trading back and getting picks in the 200s."

IDK why you are so adamant about getting a TE,seems to me we are ok there this year? We have more picks next year to play with

I'm not... I'm just adamant about not having a limited mindset.   I want my Eagles to get their guys.  Be aggressive and move up.   Gannon situation was a gift....take advantage of it... we should do so by moving up from 62.   Get that guy.  Idk I it's a TE....the point is,I don't want the Eagles to regret it because they needed to hold onto a 5th round comp pick in 2024. And even though we has the TE highest on our board... we wanted a late pick that ends up not making the team...so we forced a DB or OL that never cracks the starting lineup... or worse, the player is say Driscoll level...but the TE is Kittle level.

If you like a guy now....trade 62 and 66... for a early pick and say pick in the 110s.

You started from 94 anyway.  Take advantage of the gift of quality....forget quantity this year.  Next year is quantity .

I know what happened LOL. Every QB has tools. We even had our "franchise" guy that we traded up BIG for when he was drafted. Trevor Lawrence was NOT on the verge of ANYTHING please LMAO. He had no tools just like Fields in Chicago. Nothing to do with Pederson. Its up to the FO to get the tools not the coach

Agree....the supporting cast is the key piece.   Hard to expect a young QB to develop with John Hightower, Greg Ward, Travis Fulgham, JJAW...etc.

I believe the egg on the face of 2020... how bad the previous coach and QB...went from success to just awful... Howie and company realized that the surrounding roster that was put around those previously successful pieces..  was a big reason for how things went South.

Everyone all over Hurts jock...  missing the big picture of how good of a job the Eagles did putting the support system around him.   Adding a QB's best friend ( a true #1 WR) was huge...especially with excellent supporting pieces in Smith and Goedert already in place.    It's exactly what happened to Allen in Buffalo when Diggs was added.   Everyone else falls in line better and the offense jumps.

Kudos for Howie in putting Hurts in a no fail situation.    Kudos to Hurts for taking it to the next level last year.    Kudos to both for the contract that will allow them to keep things in place and run it back a few times.

You don't guarantee championship success...but you can set it up to where you can avoid the toilet that was set up for Doug and Wentz.

This year is going to be great to watch.   The Eagles have a good roster and the competition is excellent.

Idk... first I look into if there is a move with 62 and 66 for a return around 100-120.

Then I see if we can move up using next year comp picks 5th rounders.   Then we see about 7th round this year.   Get a feel now...see how the board develops and go from there.   Someone will drop.

Looking forward to contending again. The fall off was not all that bad.If a few guys step up we will be fine

I can agree with that, I guess I just feel there are better positions to address with guys that should be around than at TE,that's all. if we really like a top CB then do it. TE is just not on my preferred list. That's fine if it's on yours. Like said if we use Nolan as a LB I can't rule out a straight edge guy tonight. IDK the plans for Nolan

AFC East 2023 vs AFC South 2022... 4 quality opponents vs 4 garbage.

KC this year...Pittsburgh last year...so much  better.

NFC west this year vs NFC North last year...  so much better.

We are in for a fun year.  Probably the most fun in a long time.  I like watching good teams play.

Let's be honest... last year we were watching one good team each week for the most part.

The move for league parity is working. Dynasties are a thing of the past. bears will be tough now,Jags too. Ebb/flow. Detroit,Jets, will be tough teams

Ok... you are obsessing over the example I used and missed the big point.   Substitute LB or whatever other positions you want.   BPA..  or even more... go up and get the target...make the BP...become A.   You follow.   We can do that with the " gift of Gannon" pick 66.

Yeah,I was obsessing why you were obsessing about TE LOL

Just saying no pick is unimportant.

You're less likely to find that gem in later rounds but it does happen.

Wasn't Kelce a 5th?

66 and 62 would put us up around pick 38(on a flt out trade chart trade)

Sure gems can be found.I was talking about moving up for an intended target in an early round. Most DIRTs are shots in the dark, sometimes you win. Blankenship was one we hit on and you already said Mailata

I'd like them to pick up a safety or O lineman but i honestly don't know who's left.

62,66 and 2-7's. My point was the 2 -7's don't really move the needle if you want a guy at 110

Now if you want to trade 62,66 for say 48 and 109,then go for it if player 48 is a "must have"
