Right, but we never let him take snaps before that in a real game. Now I can't say if that would help or not. Rust is a real thing and if you have a big lead and the game is in hand let your BU play some

He wasn't rusty putting up those points vs Dallas.  Come on now.

They probably don’t if Seumalo just does his job…either of the two straight plays. He doesn’t screw up first time Hurts delivers the short yardage conversion. Dude is money in the bank like we’ve never seen before on those. But even still, if Seumalo blocks his man the next play Hurts doesn’t have the free untouched super athletic rusher(yeah it hurts a little extra since I was so high on drafting Bolton)in his grill to where he’s pressured trying to create so immediately making the mistake. If Seumalo blocks Bolton he’s not there to recover the fumble that wouldn’t have happened. If Seumalo blocks Bolton(his man) then Hurts doesn’t fumble, Bolton can’t recover….and surely isn’t scooping and scoring untouched so far behind all our players. Don’t even believe he had to perfectly block Bolton. Just get any touch on him at all…it likely isn’t happening. But noooo! Can’t blame the best Oline for back to back mistakes. Only Hurts held accountable around here.

So Seumalo is Hurts hands? OK then I understand why we didn't keep him on. I never said there were not other factors, yet you refuse to admit the drop contributed to the loss WHY?

Saints game was awful. maybe if we had let him take some snaps vs a similar team during the year he could have handled it better. We'll never know because we Don't do it. Yet we let Hurts play when Wentz was our starter

And when asked point bank you still said "NO" Did we watch different games?

Did Hurts contribute to the points we put up in the SB? OH YES big factor!!! Were there 10 factors that contributed to the loss? YES!!! Was Hurts drop one of those factors? YES. I don't see what's so hard about this?

Again....read the article. The number you are giving... is the 2023 "exclusive tag"   ...he isn't predicting it for next year.. it's what it is now.

Wow ...no wonder why it's like talking to a wall with you.

Of course I’m talking Exclusive Franchise Tag. Bunch of disrespectful insults from you. I’m here conversing with you. But it appears neither of us is actually wrong here. The disconnect is on which tag we are referring. So why do you believe in Hurts case the exclusive wouldn’t be utilized(you know if it came to down to having to tag him at all…whichever was never going to happen with such a quality competitor focused more on winning than grabbing as much loot as possible).

Cash and guarantees is correct. So your understanding is the option in Hurts contract kicking in next year basically acts like a delayed signing bonus? He gets all that cash right then? I’m just genuinely trying to learn and understand and make sure I’m seeing how that works correctly. Never even thought much about that part. So many factors. Signing, workouts, achievements, roster….

Ok... cash.... Hurts gets the exact numbers I showed you before.

But each amount gets spread over years.    Counting less vs the cap.

In his bank account...the full amount gets deposited.   He isn't taking less.

If he gets an amount deposited into his bank account... it doesn't matter what is salary or option or workout bonus...orcany other fancy thing you want to call it.  HE GETS PAID!!!!!

The structure ....only effects how it hits the cap.

You follow?   Bottom line HURTS IS GETTING PAID, HE DIDN’T TAKE A DISCOUNT.

The guys with the pocket protectors just structured it to keep his cap hits low.

Again the main thing. Do the contract early...is advantage BOTH.   The player can get paid early...cash in the bank.  The team can manipulate the cap hit using the final year of current deal.

Win win...but Player doesn't sacrifice anything.

Once again yes or no. Did Hurts contribute to the SB loss? There are only 2 boxes. Check one and hand in your paper for grading

I’m married and can’t have threesomes right now. But have checked three lesbian boxes at once. One of them had never been with a guy before. While her and I were getting it on…I look back and the other two are playing with themselves loving it maybe more than us. Just a one box guy now though…been like 18 years. Alright boys and girls story time is over for today.

Because it makes no sense to pay the exclusive tag.

You are Howie ...negotiating...you have the player on a 4 million salary... everyone knows you love draft picks... you don't think he brought up the non exclusive tag... knowing he could get 2 first rounders or match?

Basically he keeps control.

AND again... Howie is offering more combined cash in Hurts pocket at $64 mil.  Plus instant cash now.

You don't see the leverage there?  As the agent for Hurts you would turn down all that head start cash in his pocket....plus the injury protection.. plus the ability to redo the contract earlier???

For what?  Really look at the alternative.   Like going to another team?  For what..  the extreme unlikely possibility that In 4 years from now you  could catch up in cash?

Really?

To the team... the player ... NEW cash in the pocket ....and guarantees are what matters.  Hurts got paid...more so than Lamar with new cash.  And guarantee when you realize the tag was guaranteed.

Your fluff # is exactly what Lamar is showing.  He doesn't have the agent to explain it.  Hurts agent did an excellent job.

I think Rosie took full advantage of the female record breaking agent contract. Hurts went along with it. He got the respect of called highest paid in the press. Got some real money in his account now. We’ll see what Burrow and Herbert’s contracts look like. I bet they get more money sooner. I also believe the key concession by Hurts was contract length. Not greedy on the early cash and giving five instead of three years we’re huge team friendly gifts from Hurts. I’m no agent. Or financier. But I believe he(most anybody else would) could have pushed for more cash sooner in a three year contract. I was trying to convince everybody here how QB contracts would reach 50 mil so soon. Don’t think many here could believe how the inflation for them was ballooning. So take that thought and apply it to four seasons ahead. Some Tannehill level guy going to be getting that. Might even have some nonQB getting close to 50 already then. I stand by my team friendly contract gifted to us by QB1. I famously ‘called it’ ….he would get the highest paid contract and yet still be team friendly. Sounds so opposite and crazy…but is exactly what it is.

Here is the Eagles presentation.

We believe in you Jalen, we want to build our team around you long term . We are willing to give you a $255 mil extension ( New money) with all these guarantees.

Here is the reasons we think it's great for you...

1. You make nothing now, we put good money in your pocket early.  Tough to catch up.

2.we can tag you for $38 mil next year...and someone will have to offer a running QB a big contract and wonder why we didn't just keep you 100% off the market ..if they offer you more than 38 mil, we can match.  Or we get two 1st round picks.

3. Because we believe in you, we are structuring this deal in a way to keep your cap hits ridiculously low...with thr ability to give you a huge raise after 2026.  Most likely putting $100mil in your pocket... and still leave us with the ability to put a winner around you the whole time.

Or ....get your $4 mil...and see what happens?   You do the math and get back to me.

A suggestion... stop thinking when there facts.   Numbers are numbers.   He got paid.  Why is it hard to understand that he got paid.....and the structure for the team was done around his getting the money first?

You just have to live in fantasy world?

Ok... next year when we see the " non exclusive " tag.....which is the one teams use... we can discuss.

You know it all ...hard to discuss reality with people so humble.

Isn’t that the pot calling the kettle black? I’ll actually own that if I am knowledgeable on a subject in my head I feel I’m right. But I’m always open minded. If I’m not educated on a subject I am the guy that just acknowledged that and doesn’t act like I know everything. But on subjects I have formed opinions I’m not just going along with any other ideas of what others believe. If you bring a quality case to support another opinion I will consider. Maybe adjust my stance even. And …yes….admit I’m wrong. It’s happened. There was a blood moon on a leap year and I had a wrong opinion. I’m man enough to own up to it…just helps it’s so infrequent. Clearly not talking about my writing and punctuation skills. Not my strong suit. But I get my points across.

I don't understand why you don't get it.

It's so important for you to put Hurts on a pedestal that you are just blind to the facts I'm giving you. Your whole thing is opinion... I'm giving you what he is going to get paid.

And yes....Burrow and Herbert will get paid more..  because they had higher starting point?

Why is this difficult to get?  Hurts was holding 2 - 7 off suit...  you act like he had 2 aces?

Agree...should have been a tackle and a punt... KC punted on their next possession.   Just like they did the possession before.

Halftime... Gannon was on a zoom call with AZ...and the tide turned.

Why Zoom call the owner of the stadium your in?

I know nothing about college.   I acknowledge that from day 1.  Last time I half paid attention was Penn state and Washington  as Co national champs....that was 30 years ago.

I know a little bit about the cap.  It interested me after hearing the obnoxious Joe Banner fir years.  I put time into understanding it.  How things work.   You don't.   You research college.

When it comes to money, contracts,  cap..  there are no intangibles.   None of the stuff that makes a movie interesting.  No come back story...no underdog...no Cinderella.

Just facts and numbers.

Cash in a players pocket...  and cap hit for the team. Two mutually exclusive things.

A player does not have to sacrifice cash...for a team to have a good cap friendly contract.

Hurts was always going to get paid..  The Eagles did it using all the tools thst help them.   He still maxed out...but the Eagles did it properly cap wise.

There isn't anything intangible related to this...it's that simple.

That’s the conspiracy thoughts I hadn’t considered yet. Actually seems to be a decent probability of something happened at halftime. Second half was just horrible. Your ‘Bronze Level’ labeled coach, AR, I thought just supremely schooled Gannon. Was there some extra distraction on Gannon? Well we already know he was planning for the Zona HC job. Probably was already looking around neighborhoods to scope out his new fancy mansion. Getting his office setup in the facilities. Almost looking for any excuse other than AR outclassing a DC so highly thought of he was becoming a HC. I couldn’t even hire that guy for a HC. Not after I saw how far away he was against AR. Give credit to Mahomes. But mostly looked like coaching to me. Gannon looked terrible and AR looked brilliant! AR is absolutely incredible! Hall of Famer to be in my mind. Got to think Gannon was distracted or something. So much talent on that D last year. Any decent defensive mind could have done twice as much…with half as much talent. Just so disappointing. WTF was that?

Joe Burrow has a $29 mil salary next year. Already cash in pocket.

He has leverage that Hurts did not.

Thus when negotiating the next contract... he can certainly ask for more.

Unfortunately for Hurts, it's due to not being a 1st round pick.  Nothing else.

I still go with... Gannon just not that good.   We all agreed most of the season...why change now?

Look at it from your usual perspective that everything Eagles sucks except for Hurts.   Easy to see our defense getting lit up by every good offense the last 2 seasons except Minnesota game 2.

I don't think we need a conspiracy for Gannon failing.

The field condition is the only one I could see being legit.

You said Shew didn't win a game. Right he didn't because the team was built for Hurts style, not his. he was a CHEAP patch. Now we have Mariota who is more Hurts style than Shew. In the event Hurts goes down there won't be a need to CHANGE THE OFFENSE because of differing QB styles. I understand you hate Shew, but if he had a team built around just him,I see no reason he couldn't succeed either. You build a round team then try to plug in a square QB it's going to be difficult. Now we changed that. If Hurts goes down we can win with Mar. That is why we let Shew walk away. Another problem fixed by Howie

So Shew couldn’t operate passing plays? All those were Hurts style, not his? What about handoff to the RB? It’s all Oline according to some here. Really you just still missing all these qualities Hurts brings. The players respond to Hurts like I’ve never really seen before. First thing I noticed to clue me in on Hurts having ‘it.’ Whole team knew instantly. Even seemed to notice D players lifting up in response. Guys contagious. Easy for us all to see now.

So after years of seeing the Eagles give early raises...etc.    this idea Hurts did the Eagles a favor by not asking for a shorter contract... lol.

The Eagles pay... he sees the contract he has...and knows if he performs he is going to get a monster raise early.

Why ...   because the Eagles will do it, just to save cap.  It makes sense for the Eagles to pay Hurts.  It's not a difficult concept. You just have to look at the numbers... see it on paper... no fantasy type theories.

Can we say Shew is a back up for a reason?

3 starts...he beat the crappy Jets... put up points but lost to a good Dallas team... then sucked vs the Saints.

That's why he is a backup...consistency.   or lack of it.

SO your the next poster boy for Bud Light? I mean you're a natural with all that lezzie experience. it was probably Dylan screaming "wrong hole"

Dickerson...  2nd round pick entering year 3 of hid deal.

Watch how he gets paid next offseason... but the cap hits will be low.  Reason,  they leverage the last year of the rookie deal by using it to count in the initial signing bonus.

Smitty... they can pay him...but cap hits won't be as team friendly as Dickerson...not to the extreme.   Because he has 1st round leverage.  Already getting paid.
