There was a pretty good article getting into Swift’s injury specifics. That he suffered a high ankle sprain week one against us. He should have been shelved and let heal. Instead they pushed him ahead to play on it. His production and utilization declined week two and three. Then they finally pulled him to heal. Lions have been known to just really struggle with managing injuries.

So you are calling Gainwell a practice squad level player?   Yeah you definitely are on your own there.

But I'll take the bet ...we couldn't sign anyone cheaper... take a look at the contract. This is what you miss.  Find a RB around the league that is signed fir the next 3 years that is cheaper.

Take a break from film study... go learn a little about the business side.  Overthecap or Spotrac.    Two great sites to educate yourself on contracts, how they work in the NFL.

 Isiah Pacheco for KC.

Gainwell knows the playbook. He has versatility…he can catch, block, run and return KO.

But you see how Siri drafted him and has preferred him. Just given him most every opportunity. Every chance to succeed.  Yet he hasn’t really come through still. If you use any open minded fair evaluation it’s pretty easy to grade this poorly. It’s not just on the player. It’s on the coaches. You have to wonder if they didn’t so try to shove Gainwell in so badly If we couldn’t have even won the SB. 7 carries for 21 yards. His and Sanders combined struggles killed the opportunities they chose to even give the RBs in that game. Sanders was injured…but can’t excuse the fumbling either. Gainwell rushed for 3 yards a pop and received for 5 yards a pop. Easily replaceable player with those pathetic numbers. Just think it is easy, in hindsight, to assume Scott would have done better. That this forcing of his drafted player hindered us. That Siri didn’t value Scott. Scott forced him to change his opinion some what.  Only enough to roster Scott. Gainwell was forced into trying to be the option. But losing the starter last season showed Gainwell wasn’t near up to that task. Scott was clearly the guy needed to step up. But then after all this played out it came down to the SB game. Went with Gainwell instead of Scott. That performance was fairly damning of Gainwell. But the main knock is on the coach.

I’m pretty happy about how the DBs have been addressed more now. Getting Bradberry back was huge. Brought in Greedy. He feels like a legit backup outside if either older starter misses time. Drafting Ringo. He was a guy, predraft scouting, I thought was being overrated honestly. Fell to a more deserving position in the actual draft. Fast but I question his hips. Maddox found his home in the slot.Josiah  Scott was disappointing as a backup. But even if he wins the job again he’s developed and better than where he started from last season. McPherson might be a real option to backup the slot position.

At S not bringing back either starter works for us. In the PS last year I thought Blankenship showed he could play in this league. They built him up to have a role. But let’s be clear he had a very specific job. He wasn’t the versatile S. We’ll see how much they can add on his plate this season. Terrell Edmunds, it seems,  I like much more than most. He’s a good player. Think he possess versatilite capabilities. Though I was really high on Battle over Brown(we’ll see how that plays out). Brown has strong intangibles and abilities. Think he could possibly leap frog Blankenship. Much depends on the playcall for one. Another factor  is the fit. What all three show they can do the best. You know, like the guy being a Single High S, in the box S or slot WR coverage….Finally Evans isn’t a bad swing to take on a possible fourth S option.

https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/teams/PHI/philadelphia-eagles/stats/regular/  How was Gainwell "preferred" with these rushing stats? I'm failing to see it. We had a 10 point lead at the 1/2,but we lost because of Gainwell?? How do you know Scott would have done better, just assuming it? Scott and gainwell basically got the same number of snaps, but Siri "preferred" him over Scott? I'm not seeing this on the chart either. We could have won the SB any number of ways. They adjusted at the 1/2 and we had no answer. Every team always loves a free 7 in the biggest game of your career. You know that +14 TO ratio doesn't mean diddly in the SB where it's 0-0

Milton Williams graded out as our best run defending DT. Wasn’t supposed to be his major selling point and strength.

Exactly a link showing how you are failing to see. Think you can figure this one out yourself. Start at his draft. Then see how he was forced in from the start. But then went backwards on his actual production. But then it all came full circle in the last game where he was chosen…again…. and failed.

Scott-started 2 games, Gainwell-O how is that preferred??

Why do I care about anything but last year? Why do I care if he was forced or not early on? DO I need to pull up stats from every year now??? Every team is different. Who were the WR's those early years? If you want to pull up stats from each year go ahead. I think it's a fruitless waste of time. Siri will play the guys he thinks have the best chance. He will do that again this year. Hurts was still learning how to PASS the BALL. We ran most of the time either with RB's or Hurts ran it himself(as I said ball hogging). So if you're receivers are sub par or your QB is 1 read and run, you use RB's? He was "preferred" before we got AJ? IDK there are too many variables to pin this trash on Siri or Gains,it changes every year

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES
Player Fantasy Car Yds YPC TD Long Fum Lost
Jalen Hurts 45.2 15 70 4.7 3 28 1
Kenneth Gainwell 8.1 7 21 3.0 0 9 0
Boston Scott 2.7 3 8 2.7 0 9 0
Miles Sanders 1.6 7 16 2.3 0 6 0

SB rushing stats. Noone was really setting the place on fire. Gainwell had the best YPC of this sorry lot so maybe thats why? The stats told Siri this? If Gainwell had the best YPC,then that's who you play LOL(as sad as it is)

SOOOOO the above are the stats going into the SB. The second line is POST season at 5.5 YPC. Seems to me thats a nice average to have,so why wouldn't you play him?

Even preferred and the chosen guy….he isn’t…and can’t be a starter. Not in his capabilities. Yet still got the call in the SB over Scott. Good additional point towards the mistake that was made.

So you believe the best indicator of success in the SB would be to base it on stats mostly derived from the fourth quarter of a blowout victory over a terrible run D?

In the SB I play Scott…probably brings a parade if that decision was made instead.

I posted the POST season stats BEFORE the SB was played. WHO is the better RB coming into that game ??? Not hard to see. Gainwell was preferred because he had the better stat line

Shaq scored how many points? Hall of Famer. But all those points don’t mean I won’t him on the free throw line with the game on the line.

Genius, tell Siri. We win if Hurts doesn't give away a free 6. We lost because we didn't have the discipline. I'm doubting 1 play by Scott changes the game outcome LOL

LOL different game,if he's playing and he's fouled you can't put a pinch FT shooter in LOL please

So you would never have played Shaq because he's a bad FT shooter. OK
