On Jan 29th.... the Eagles beat SF in the NFC title game.

If there was a phone call right afterwards between Gannon and AZ GM... there is Jan 30, Jan 31, Feb 1...  that the Eagles could have known and looked to talk to Fangio about the job.

So... part of the Eagles having a right to be compensated... was that Gannon and AZ being dishonest and violating the rule without the Eagles knowledge...is that it prevented them from interviewing Fangio for the job.

Whether Fangio would have been offered or accepted the job is irrelevant... the fact is that the Eagles should have had the opportunity to talk to Fangio if the rules were followed.

Story line- Carters walk on friend did not receive the free meals a scholarship player receives. SO he bought him his lunch every day of his last year at Georgia out of his own scholarship money

Whether he(Fangio) would have been Eagles DC if not for the Gannon/Cards tampering situation? Fangio responds: it’s possible. I’ll neither confirm or deny it.

Who was cheaper Fangio or DeSai?

Lol... I don't think it matters.

I think Ham takes some of these reports and doesn't translate the logic.

Shefter's quote without him clarifying or using context doesn't make sense.

There was no " scandal" prior to the Superbowl.   Lurie and the Eagles found out information later.  After all the hires.

The idea is the Eagles could have known Gannon was going to take a head coaching job or an interview... prior to Fangio taking Miami job.

The Eagles lost the opportunity to interview Fangio for the job.

The NFL wants to cover it up.... think about it.   If Gannon was distracted... the betting public didn't know.  If there was tampering that had an effect on the betting..  that's possible lawsuits.   The league wants it squashed.   Everyone is no comment, or trying to minimize it as just one phone call to congratulate Gannon after beating SF...and " oh by the way, I'll call you after the Superbowl if we don't hire a head coach by then. "

Either way.... Gannon lied to Howie...they found out after they allegedly offered him more money to stay.   That bridge is burned.   I think Ham has trouble understanding this.

The dude lied to Howie and Lurie... not popular with fans before that...  the local media hates him because of the lies he said about them.

Gannon couldn't burn any more bridges if he tried.   Then to think if he gets fired after one year where expectations couldn't be lower....that we would fire a dude that could get us a comp pick...to hire Gannon back.

Simply because he was offered more money prior to burning all the bridges and before they discovered he lied...  no shot he comes back!

There is an assumption the Eagles would have preferred Fangio.  Idk about that...not important....to me Lurie and Howie seem like guys that want control.   Because of the Gannon situation...they didn't have the control...the opportunity to make the choice.  Fangio was off the board before he was an option here.

That to me is where I can see guys like Lurie and Howie being pissed off.  When you are used to being in control..and you lose it because someone else doesn't follow the rules... yeah, they are pissed.  No  shot Gannon comes back now.

Yes... there will be more suits coming... was kinda obvious... I'm sure there will be a settlement where Georgia pays it.

Yeah. I bashed this kid at first. The story I read about him paying his friends lunch for a year made me feel ok with his character. I hope his isnt a big distraction for Carter, but he did LEAVE the scene. He sounds to me like a young man that just needed guidance and never got it on a personal level. And BTW in a 104 MPH crash,I'm doubting ho much "aid" could be rendered by one scared kid. Maybe she egged them on to race? She should be happy to be alive and her ordeal has nothing to do with Carter, she was in another vehicle,so I will be interested to see how the defense goes on this case

The egg on their face of being lied to by Gannon.  The idea of the possibility it affected the Superbowl loss... the perception by some that they didn't hire the guy they really wanted...

" Hey John boy... come on back to Philly"   get the F##$ outta here !!

I want to see what DeSai brings, how he sets up this defense. He still has some nice players we retained, but he needs to bring the young guys up to speed. This is my team the "what if's" no longer matter. We have what we have and we have to work with it

Ham hated Gannon, why would he want him back anyway LOL

Sounds like to me...driving fast is the only issue.   It was a recurring problem not only with him, but others at Georgia.   I also thought he left the scene immediately.   Apparently it seems he looked to check on everyone first and the was persuaded to leave by a few people.

The other issues can be dealt with... selfishness was my concern,  once that didn't seem to be an issue,  I'm fine getting the kid...now he just has to play.

Idk...he was trying to say how much Lurie and Howie loved him.... what he misses is how that changes once someone lies to you and causes you problems.   That relationship is done now.

The driver of the car Bowles was in was 2x over the legal limit. Although you can't sue dead people, carter had no alcohol content. The fault is with the dead driver not Carter IMO,but Bowles wants a quick paycheck and she may get one

Correct... idk that Desai wouldn't have been the choice anyway.

Yeah....the university will settle.

I don't really know how they( Georgia) are responsible for peoples personal time. But they are the ones with the money. Even if the rental cars were extended to the next day, that is not Georgias fault as to how they are operated on personal time by drunken operators. I'm sure that will be argued in court

There were previous incidents... involving Georgia players.  It can easily be seen as a culture thing.  Everyone involved was coming from a Georgia function.   Absolutely they will be the ones to settle.  Part of it may be where Carter has to do stuff for the university or whatever.

That is probably fair for her pain and suffering although I still feel the dead driver was at fault. I believe that would be a fair settlement because I'm sure she had many medical bills during her recovery. So I think the univ will pay that and put things behind them

And we can put it behind us too.

The hard-nosed Jemal Singleton is the team’s running backs coach and assistant head coach. Known for his powerful punching of the football with a boxing glove during ball-security drills, Singleton's tutelage helped Sanders to his best season in 2022 and Philadelphia has ranked first in the NFL in both rushing yards per game (153.6) and rushing touchdowns (57) since Singleton arrived, although the presence of quarterback Jalen Hurts has certainly bolstered those numbers. This time around it will be Singleton’s job to define the roles to get the most out of a committee.

So,we're really not missing Staley either. In fact this guy is better and I expect some numbers from this RB committee
