Sounding like a hater...because you made a bad take and are trying to run with it...

So you want an Elite RB at 3mil/season? and just because the panthers gave 6mil/season doesn't mean he's the standard lmao. Sanders is playing peewee football compared to Saquan...the dude's a beast and I'm pissed he's back in the division

Also, your post in March...showing you want to sign Cook (would've been min 10mil/season) and then some washed up scrubs LOL

Didn't we win the SB with a feature back ? (Blount) his/Ajayi's physicality were the difference that year... not sure why we always bring in these injury prone/ scat backs...can't win in the playoffs without running the ball...and if your counter-argument is we have Hurts to pickup rushing duties...we won't for long if he keeps taking shots

Having an Elite / Work-horse RB is a luxury, yes. However...it becomes the difference when conditions/circumstances don't allow for efficient passing...especially when setting the tone. Chiefs - Pacheco

Rams - Akers

Bucs - Fournette / Jones

etc...

???????    You sure you got the right guy here in this post?   🤔    1. Don't want an elite RB.  2.  Absolutely no fan of Sanders.

Jurgens playing RG is taking its toll on our second team C position. Would be a strength with him at C. Toth it sounds like is struggling mightily.

I suspect if anything happened to Kelce,Jurgens would get the C nod and someone else at RG. Kelce loves the kid and I'm sure he is teaching him what he needs to know. But who knows if Kelce hangs it up or not. Another ring could seal that decision, but too early to know. Looking forward to some great games vs better teams than the last 2 years. If we make the SB we will be well tested

Just don’t need Kelce taking too many reps until week one. Need Jurgens at C taking most of the practice reps along with PS game action. Not just for him….but more importantly for the team. Sounding like our third string C Toth is struggling mightily.

Do we not want Jurgens getting reps at RG though?

It's tricky. Maybe they are giving him snaps at C in practice. IDK. But if he is the heir to the C gig,he needs to know how to run/call the O line, but we need RG also. There are 2 nice C"s in the next draft although I would be leary dropping in a rookie C starter with zero experience. Will be interesting to see how they handle this

Reading about Cameron Tom(on our roster). His college credentials are pretty good. Outland candidate and other accolades. Why do we never hear about him? Can he play?

Suppose he is a camp body only(5.10 rating), may not be here after camp, but he has awards to his credit,so there must be some talent there. Bounced around alot. Hard to get your game when everything changes annually. he played C and RT which is a rather weird combination LOL

BTW hoping the USSAWNT get their cookies crumbled.Let's go SWEDEN!!!!!

May as well get this out of the way nowimage.png.eee01a4165193c9e3cc586bfdf9c14c0.png

But you gotta see the downside here. Think we drafted Steen specifically for the job. But he hasn’t played the position before. So doubtful he’s peaking first few practices at the new position. Have others that can man the RG position capably. But what are the options at C? How is the team to go about getting prepared for the season? Third stringer Toth…it’s being reported is struggling with just snapping the dang ball correctly. Not even getting into his calling the blocking assignments…or executing his blocks. Clearly you can’t desire Kelce to expend himself so heavily in TC and PS. Kelce really should be sparingly out there until a real game is here. Just not the point in his career to push him too much over practice and pretend games. So do you choose Jurgens reps at RG at the expense of Kelce season in 2023?

Even more than just managing such a twilight stud player in Kelce…..we need the whole team preparing and developing. Sounds like that is being stunted by turning to the third string C. I mean it really is just that basic of if the ball isn’t snapped correctly nothing positive happens on offense. After that you actually get to how well can anybody on O perform if the center of the Line isn’t capable of blocking.

Seems to me Kelce should be severely managed at a minimal this time of year. With a twilight HOF C think Jurgens would be dominating reps at C. His true position as I see it anyway. Team would be getting a head start on transitioning to Jurgens in the middle sooner.

Dickerson is the next best option at C. Should they force him to C for the sake of Jurgens RG reps all PS?

  • Author

I prioritize giving Kelce the management first. Dickerson the unneeded distraction of changing from LG that he looks to be potential Pro Bowl at. Rumors Dickerson is injured already also. Then prioritize whole team getting properly prepared. Feels like Jurgens at RG all PS hurts the rest of the team in too many ways.

Oh for sure I can see the downside but ultimately they have a gap at RG and right now Jurgens appears to be the answer to that. I’m not suggesting Steen can’t catch him up but I think they both need game time at RG to see.

I think it's too early to overthink things.

Kelce won't play in the preseason.  They don't practice like they used to with all the physical play.   I'm not worried about him taking " reps"

Jurgens needs the " reps" at RG ...the assumption is he will take some at center too...but we probably won't see him there in the preseason games.

Who cares... stay healthy and let's get to the real season.

Think it’s important the whole team gets there reps in. Toth it’s being reported is looking miserable at C. Like struggling to get the ball to the QB bad. Nobody getting any decent reps like that. Last season was setup so nicely with Jurgens taking the majority of the C reps for Kelce. He doesn’t know the blocking calls either.  Bad reps aren’t that helpful. Not good for the O or D players if Toth is just botching things up that badly.

I’m obviously not at practice…but it’s being reported like it’s very obviously an issue.

Ok... let me ask you.   Out of 100 snaps, what would be acceptable for Kelce to botch completely...  " where nobody gets any reps"  ?????

I mean, they run 65 to 70 plays in a game ... if Kelce botches 1 out of 100... that means during the season he has 12 or 13 completely bad snaps where he kills the play himself.  No reps.

Don't you think that's high?

So if Toth botches say 1 out of 20... that's pretty much awful.  Complete disaster.

Think about it... it's a little extreme to say... "nobody getting any decent reps"

Fair thing to say... Toth sucks, if he has to play C in a game then we are in trouble.

To say...  the whole team can't get any reps because Toth is playing C in camp....  on planet earth it's a little extreme to think like that.

Why do you think Dickerson is the best option at C when by all accounts Jurgens looks like a Kelce clone. Much of the O is based on the center getting out to the 2nd lvl quickly. I'm not sure Dickerson is the guy for that role.

Simple question... do we take it as

1.  Toth sucks and we are in trouble if he has to play.

2.  The whole team just can't practice with Toth at C.

I would assume if he botches 1 out of 15 or 20 snaps... it's the first.

I think we relax a little here with all this negative thinking.   The starting RG spot during games is more important than a 3rd string C messing up some snaps in camp.

Yeah... but the whole team can't practice because of Toth.

So if Toth sucks he goes away. This is the time to see what you have and sort them out. Steen also. Just because we get guys in doesn't mean they automatically stick. Howie left some loot in his pocket. I don't want bad players, even on the PS. PS guys should be guys that can at least blossom into BU's. I don't expect much else, but sometimes you get lucky. They have to earn it which is the point of practice and pre season. If we lose both of them I suspect Howie goes a hunting and spends a little bit of the 15 million
