Seems to me Kelce should be severely managed at a minimal this time of year. With a twilight HOF C think Jurgens would be dominating reps at C. His true position as I see it anyway. Team would be getting a head start on transitioning to Jurgens in the middle sooner.

Kelce needs "managed" An all pro pro bowler needs managed?. Why not let the staff do their jobs? They got us to a SB last year or are they now suddenly not to be trusted?

Dickerson is the next best option at C. Should they force him to C for the sake of Jurgens RG reps all PS?

Why do you want to eff up another position? Dickerson is a great LG. Why do you insist on breaking up what works???

I prioritize giving Kelce the management first. Dickerson the unneeded distraction of changing from LG that he looks to be potential Pro Bowl at. Rumors Dickerson is injured already also. Then prioritize whole team getting properly prepared. Feels like Jurgens at RG all PS hurts the rest of the team in too many ways.

So Jurgens is too stupid to play 1 position while taking notes on another? Seems to me Kelce would talk to Jurgens after a play like "see what I did there?" if Jurgens is a pro bowl RG then thats where he should play.We drafted Dickerson to take over, but found out he is better at LG. Maybe Jurgens feels at home at RG. And either could be emergency C's as that was their college position. Let the staff sort these guys out and weed out the "nah I don't think so's". Thats what we pay them to do

DOOOOOOOOOOOOOMED

https://www.si.com/nfl/draft/news/ed-lee  Pick him up. He's only 24 with upside. Would make the room a little better IMO

Kid can play. Be fine as a BU for Smith or AJ. Nice rotational threat out of the back field ala Tyreek Hill

Nah….I enjoy the crushing blow after they get all super hyped about how they are SB bound after week6. Like that beat down of the Gmen last playoffs. They really thought they were so much better than they actually were after their playoff victory. Their fans were believing they were actual contenders. Then Bam!!!!! Got embarrassed by the real contenders. That was so great!

Ok... let me ask you.   Out of 100 snaps, what would be acceptable for Kelce to botch completely...  " where nobody gets any reps"  ?????

I mean, they run 65 to 70 plays in a game ... if Kelce botches 1 out of 100... that means during the season he has 12 or 13 completely bad snaps where he kills the play himself.  No reps.

Don't you think that's high?

So if Toth botches say 1 out of 20... that's pretty much awful.  Complete disaster.

Think about it... it's a little extreme to say... "nobody getting any decent reps"

Fair thing to say... Toth sucks, if he has to play C in a game then we are in trouble.

To say...  the whole team can't get any reps because Toth is playing C in camp....  on planet earth it's a little extreme to think like that.

Obviously contemplating the more extreme version of Toth sucking…and not just being serviceable. But so much more to the job than just snapping the ball. As long as you’ve watched this game I’m figuring you’ve witnessed a train wreck C have to come in. Nothing can sink an O quicker. There is timing of snap, quality, blocking read….then actually performing his blocking assignment. These guys out there practicing like an hour. Not all just lining up 11 on 11 either. So efficiency in practice is very crucial. Under Siri more than ever before. Is the team getting quality practice reps in? Or is the Toth so bad he’s screwing up too much for the team to get their work done? Most positions aren’t as crucially dependent as C. Bad snap? Fumble….then instincts are scramble and dive in on these other Olines knees and ankles going for the loose ball. Could just simply mess up the timing of the play. Or in the middle of the line a misstep could get the guy next to him injured…or the QB.

If your C is bungling all these different parts of the job…what players are getting quality practice in? Or like I mentioned dreaded injuries take place from his flailing. Let’s say he doesn’t snap it perfectly….then awkwardly steps on Dickerson ankle or foot trying to go the wrong direction misreading his blocking assignment….then everybody will care about the crappy Toth.

Dude.... what do you think the answer is?   Come on now.

Again....if a center is completely messing up 1 out of 15 or 20 plays....that's an extreme to where you can't play him in a game.    Jason Kelce is our starting center...  you are worried about the guy who is taking other reps messing up so bad that one out of 15 or 20 snaps is going to mess up things for the backups?

Even for you it's extreme.

Manage his reps. As in very very little wear and tear or chance of nagging injury opportunities are risked until real game action. Even then pull him as quickly as possible in blowout scenarios.

I’m just logically going through the depth chart options. I’m just not ruling out the need for the backup C(Jurgens) to get heavy reps before week one. Just like last year.

So to me the effing up of position is possibly….just possibly now….at C.

How many chances you taking with Kelce before week one arrives?

Yeah.... Kelce, Jurgens and Dickerson.... having those guys on the team is pretty bad.  Very weak compared to the rest of the league.

Hurts shouldn't practice ... can't take chances with anyone before week 1.

Not sure what you’ve been reading…but multiple source word is Toth has been horrible. Like possibly dropped before cutdown day bad. But he supposedly offers position flexibility. He can play all along the Oline badly evidently.

NGata been having a good camp so far it sounds like.

Does anyone think that there is another possibility of someone else playing center ( other than Kelce) ...if Jurgens is playing RG?

If not... then why is this a conversation?

Do we really think other teams have better situations?

I mentioned it because it actually sounds like it could be a concern.

More to the job than snapping. But yeah let’s just talk about one bad snap where all the guys come crashing in on Dickerson’s knees….be one bad snap too many for my liking.

A concern that the guy can't play in a game.  They can get a coach to snap the ball....for practice reps.  Come on now.

But let me ask .... what do we have behind Cox, Carter, Davis, Ojomo, Williams... can the backups handle the practice reps?

After Reddick, Graham, Sweat and Smith... we may not be able to get much pressure off the edge.

Again... it's practice.    2023 style.   It's not the same grueling schedule as before.

I don’t think the whole league has a HOF C likely in his last career season…while having his backup starting at G. With the third (maybe even second) best option starting at LG reportedly already taking things light nursing some injury.
