The point of early practices is to WEED OUT the bad apples for the first cuts.

Two mistakes by Toth a practice wouldn’t even be more worthy. Starting vets can make two mistakes in a practice.

I think it’s all important. New OC. New DC. Plenty of players new to the team. Good amount of young players. Micromanaging is the job all our coaches must accel in. It’s crucial. If they old school had Kelce and Dickerson playing 8 quarters of PS BS games….you’ll be hearing from me about it here. Imagine AJ going down for the season in the third quarter of PS gave two. Would just be stupid.

Nah right now is the time not to micromanage it's to sort through the players you will cut. Happens every year.

But if Toth is only making two mistakes each practice….he’s in line for a raise. Sign him for four year extension.

So why are you concerned about a guy that probably will be cut??? It's not going to debilitate anyone

So when the C screws up the snap. Then messes up his blocking assignment the next play. Which RB you weeding out between the two plays?

I would be more concerned if vets made 2 mistakes than some loser who wont be there week 1

Why would I weed out a RB for a C mistake?Makes no sense at all lol

Not what the reports are saying.

Then let Siri do his JOB lol

Now you are asking more the question to get to what my point actually is. It’s never been about Toth carrying us through the SB. It’s about in this extremely streamlined TC physical on field schedule under Siri. Not many reps to go around. I’m not concerned with Toth making the team. I want Rosie and the coaches to get the best evaluation of everybody possible. I’m old school in believing jobs should mostly be earned playing football than on paper.

Now your questions are heading in the right path. Exactly my concern is trying to evaluate all the other players. Toth taking so many reps at C matters to all. You gotta make decisions on everybody. So staying with the RB. How do you choose which guys stay or go? You are evaluating them behind Toth.

Dickerson is limited a bit it sounds. Toth is the fourth option at C I’d say. So how does a RB that is best running up the middle make the team under those circumstances?

An off tackle rusher would clearly come off looking more productive, right?

  • Author

But we need a guy that can compliment Swift up the gut rushing

Game action Kelce  calls the blocking. Is Toth doing that? That is just a small difference…but it isn’t practicing close to real game simulations.

If Toth goes the wrong way blocking. How do you evaluate the backup Gs or RBs?

  • Author

It’s just the position of C. If your C is terrible it screws up everybody. Possibly more than any other position.

Yet you don't like the earning(or in Toths case NOT earning) playing football on the field which is exactly where you are supposed to find this out

2 bad snaps at practice will have ZERO evaluation effect on Siris evaluation of the other players. The evaluation on TOTH will be NEGATIVE and that is what practices are for

Because Toth is not playing 100% of the snaps,or he soon won't be. let Siri does his job. he really doesn't care what you think and he's not changing the practices because of what YOU think. TO evaluate a player as BAD,you need to see them play BADLY and that is done ON THE FIELD in practice. My god why dont you get this????

Why do I give a crap? Kelce is my center Toth will be CUT who cares what Toth does?

You see what they do with a different center LOL. Or maybe you already KNOW what they will do. You have 90 guys, the new guys have to make the team,if they play badly they WONT MAKE THE TEAM. SO far you're telling me Toth WONT MAKE THE TEAM. ALL these coaches talk amongst themselves, and Im sure they are ALL aware Toth cant cut it.SO??????

FL, you point at schedule plenty the last two seasons. Would you agree with me that this seasons schedule doesn’t afford the same in season learning curve? Just last season, the cupcake TC I witnessed the results to begin the season. Took the chance facing the Lions week one to learn on the job more. But even that almost backfired. Lions really put it to us. Hurts had to step up and carry the team to victory in shootout fashion. Do remember at week one last year…you, No Mas,Cook and others were questioning if Hurts was even starting quality.

That was TWO years ago not last year LOL. Last year(if you were awake and coherent) I said Hurts made tremendous strides, more than expected. How does that translate to "questioning he was starting material"? I don't think there was any question last year. TWO years ago there was too little information to say either way,yet here you are questioning 89 other players As we as the whole coaching staff because ONE GUY makes bad snaps in practice. Amazing how you hand pick this trash LOL. Anyway,I'm done discussing how Toth is going to ruin the team,so moving on..............................

And BTW in fantasy if I have Hurts and Arod I'd be dumber than a box of rocks NOT to play the match-ups

See that last part is probably why the discussion has continued further. You and that other poster aren’t considering the actual issues of the guy who will be cut…or on the PS. Nothing I’ve said referred to Toth performing in any real game at C. I strictly have been focused on the issues having such terrible C play can have on TC. Dickerson already picked up some injury he’s dealing with. Could have happened easily from Toth going the wrong way misunderstanding his blocking assignment. If Dickerson has to manage a nagging injury all season because of having a bum playing C so much in TC, does that matter to you?

Ok... let me ask...do you think Toth has played next to Dickerson... in a situation where Dickerson could get hurt?

I'm trying to understand what you are trying to say.   You don't explain things well.   Paint a picture for us that is realistic.

Where do you see an actual 11 on 11 rep in practice where Toth is playing next to Dickerson...now translate that to Dickerson getting injured because of Toth?

Then let me ask you this... do you think the other 31 teams have 4 centers that know all the plays and assignments to where it's not an issue.

To sum up... make a point...to where the rest of us understand it... not just you.    Clarify your concern.  Then we can discuss if it's realistic.  To me... I see zero reps Dickerson will take next to Toth... unless it's hitting a sled.
