IDK Swift can be brutal on a route. He's not Kupp either but he is a viable force as a receiver

Yes...from the backfield.  Where he would be in my scenario anyway.

AJ,Smith,Goedert and option 4 which we can vary by game as needed

Yes... 4 needs to vary, because there isn't a better single option.

Loved Hurts bringing over his buddy

I’m almost positive you were in the group that hated us traded a 1st for AJ lol but I could be mistaken

Isn’t the best case scenario for us being Quez having a bounce back year being that 4th option …. His speed is a nice boost to the O as well

The real thing is we only have 1 ball to go around and with a trio of AJ/Smith/Geodart not sure how many targets will be left for a 4th guy

Will say I haven’t been as active on the board as usual but busy life lol 😂 but always fun with all the takes and the back and forth

I’m liking Ellis possibly as the best option next to Dean. Maybe sub in Edmunds as that hybrid LB…Monster Back… for passing downs.

I mean I stated the young guys stepping up is the key Ellis would be in that group…. I’m just stating in terms of Vet LB definitely worse then Jack

Quez rebounding is/would be the best possible scenario but as stated above how many targets will a 4th option have?

Be the next step in the hurts progression getting better at the dump off passes using the RBs etc.

Don’t want Captain Checkdown Kirk Cousins but definitely a place for taking what’s given.

Have to have that nice blend of aggressive attack down field play with the dump downs and have to want Hurts to run less(or maybe just take less hits get out of bounds/slide etc)

This is never a problem if the offense stays on the field.   Keeping the ball creates more targets.

Could also be he didn't want to give Sanders the ball?   With better options to go to... then he should go to them more

Didn’t say it was a bad problem to have lol just that we have to have real expectations for whoever the 4th guy is

Mmmmmm definitely situation where the dump off is better then attacking down the field…. But as stated above I don’t want a captain check down either just that it has its place in the game

In an RPO offense... the RB takes the ball fake.  I'm assuming that puts him a less of a position to receive the ball on a pass.     I'm sure this was a factor with " check downs "

Really the idea of the RPO is to make one read and throw ASAP.    That really limits passes to RBs.... more so than simply QB preference.

I'm not worried about stats..  more so the impact.

I have to be honest.  I'm not looking at check downs as much as I am looking at getting the RB out into the pattern.

Hurts running or a check down...probably Hurts running is a better play.    But getting the RB out in the route tree... as another option to do damage, not just catch a forfeit pass in the flat.   That's going to be a nice addition with Swift.

I mean sure I’d feel the same but we tend to be on the minority in this view lol 😂 so many stat watchers that only see the stat line and think the guy is terrible

Is it? One hit can derail the season think I’d rather have the check down even if it means couple less yards

He usually beats the guys to the outside and gets out of bounds.

On the scrambles he is fine.. some of those inside designs runs seems to be where he gets in trouble.

That's a different conversation.

Again see plenty of late hits the risk of running I could do without I’d rather see the check down…. Sure if he is 100% in the clear no risk of getting hit but some of them are close and those close ones…..

QB keepers etc... it's why I'm not a fan of the running QB in that sense.  That's where the volume comes into play for Hurts rushing attempts.

On a legit pass play if he takes off down the sideline for 15 yards and steps out of bounds.... Like Wilson did in his prime ... I'm good with that.

I'd like to see the RB used downfield in the passing game.  Really open up the field , unlike where we were limited with Sanders.

I'd rather avoid the ones where he actually takes a hit.  Runs in the middle of the field... keepers etc.

On the outside where he sees the guy coming from a mile away, he seems fine. Can't remember him taking a hit on those.

They have to catch him on the outside... those keepers...middle of the field,  they get him from all the angles.  Like the Bears game last year.
