Covey is agile. But just getting started. No reason to think he won’t improve.

Deon Cain was killing it …in the lesser league. Looked good previous PS also.

Some talk about Tyree Cleveland also

Just brought in 6’5” King also.

On a different note: was thinking maybe we don’t have to force a LB addition. If you guys remember I’ve had the idea of going after S in numbers for so many years. Have them play off ball LB, FS, SS and Slot. Main holdup traditionally against S in the box was durability. But if you go with numbers you got that covered. Plus you can disguise the D like nobody ever has. Positionless players.

We need to add more S still though. But smarter investment than LB in many ways. Just run with a single LB most downs. Short yardage bring in the run specific  LB that nobody covets and are cheap.

Maybe occasionally have Ellis or Jack in on first downs.

Coutee isn’t anything special. Topped out at one 400 yard season….in his five or so years. Let’s see…who can we compare Coutee too…his career high season was just barely better than Jalen Reagor rookie season.

All they can do is ball out in August at this point. Looking at several young talented guys we have here. But there are different jobs to earn amongst the WR. We have the top four WR set. Then I believe we keep one big WR and one speedy guy. So maybe I could see your point. He would be up against Devon Allen and Britain Covey. Likely one other unproven guy I’m forgetting. Gotta win the returner job along with the quick receiver backup option. So I could see Coutee possibly beating those two out. Believe Covey got that crucial experience last season. No reason to think he won’t improve another  year in. I personally lean towards Allen. Not written in pen or anything. Covey needs to show the investment and patience paying off now. Gut tells me Allen has the higher upside potential…and is faster. Gotta think hurdling…there is some connection to returning. Not sure what it is though. Possibly a connection on screens also. End around plays possibly. But he’s the one that has the speed on the ‘go’ route….that stretches a D. Remember it’s not just stats of how many long balls he pulls in and thrown to. It’s how he can stretch the D to possibly pull that top S…..and just in general creating space for others to work. But acknowledge my thoughts on Allen are based on potential upside, mostly. Thinking of those three choices I might be willing to take the big swing on that choice…and go with Allen. Gotta believe that his improvement could be really something….if he gets to focus on football. All on the line here in the PS.

Tyree Cleveland jamming tonight. McKee looking like the third string job he owns. Might overtake Mariota if we are lucky.

Brown and Wallace making tackles. Seriously crucial part of their job description.

Really feeling like getting the win in this PS game means something. Gotta come from behind. Ravens haven’t lost a PS game in forever.

Whelp train left the station on that. Couldn’t convert 4th down and now they busted a big TD. Hold up…penalty. TD erased. Still a chance.

Ready to close the book on Sermon. 8 carries for 16 yards. Blew it. Can’t believe we wasted a roster spot all last season for a non dressing RB. For him to reward that decision by getting several opportunities….to only manage 2 yards a pop. Terrible decision! Want to not prioritize RBs….well that’s where I agree with that philosophy. Don’t waste a 53 on a RB that won’t even put on the uniform on game days. I was optimistically hoping he just was slow picking up the system or playbook kind of issues holding him back. But nope…just stinks. SB season short by three….hard to not consider anything could have assisted more than Sermon.

Don’t stash a RB on the 53 to not suit up ever. That’s where you lower prioritize the position in my mind. Especially considering such an all in season like it was. Need two guys up top to get the job done this year. We’ll see how the RB room pans out this season. Right now thinking trade for Jonathan Taylor and let the rest battle behind him. Basically thinking Swift would compliment the best. GM of the Year blew the Sermon call last season. Blew not getting P competition …if not just flat out going in a different direction at the position. I also think Rosie might have blown trading with the Saints as well. Carter is a nice prize for demonstrating extreme patience as a result of the trade (traded from 10 to 9 to select him actually). Job is to win the Lombardi. Failed! Last season should have been ours.

They should shut Quez down until real games. Hamstring injury for a speedster matters. Don’t need him ‘manning up’ and pushing through this injury. Need it to get right and not linger.

More moronic comments(they never end) This comment from the man who wanted Reagor over my NUMBER ONE IN THE NFL WR JJ. Reagor was a round 1 and expected to be a WR 1,Coutee was a 4th rounder,no comparison whatsoever. If you want to talk about "noone special" look to most of your WR choices LOL. I never said he was special I said he was an UPGRADE over the NON SPECIAL WR:s we have. The lesser WR's you mentioned are nothing special other than they play for the Eagles. Whatever opinions I post you just MUST disagree with even when you are seriously wrong.Yes in order to gain stats you need to play. The lesser WR 's we have have no stats either, SO???????? If you can't identify an upgrade, then I can't explain it to you.You go out of your way to make pointless points.Covey,Cain,Cleveland have less stats than Coutee who also has experience. We probably won't get him anyhow because Howie won't spend even a little on another BU WR,but to overlook the fact he would upgrade to the room just to disagree is beyond ridiculous. No need to get Coutee right away, let the other guys work, but if there is room and 1 or more suck what do you have against getting him? Merely pointing out he is an upgrade RIGHT NOW to the room. He's on par with Zachheus IMO and would be a decent BU for Smith

McKee looked really good. Book needs to go away by Monday. Just useless dead weight. I wouldn't even wait on that call. I hope Siri makes the same call and boots him out

IDK Ham 2 of Sermons yards were a TD. If I'm a RB and I have 10 carries for 20 yards and those are all TD's I am useless? 2 YPC behind a rookie O line doesn't tell me alot. Sermon got a TD which Sanders failed to do an entire YEAR behind the our top O line. Maybe we should have cut Sanders then. Maybe Sermon goes away we'll see,but making a decision on him for one PS game is stupid. Book was so bad I could make that call because a QB needs to show skills even with a bad O line. Book could not get the ball out. As a QB he should know by now to throw them away rather than take sacks,so I could make that decision on him after one PS game because he has no decision making skills.McKee was alot more impressive. Sermon I need to see more of before making that call. Sermons stats 11 carries,4.3 avg and 1 TD. I agree he needs to step it up if he wants a job here and they need to tell him that point blank
